We spent two nights at the Palacio del Carmen, Autograph Collection, in Santiago de Compostela. It was the third time we stayed at this hotel, and in July 2017 we wrote a detailed review about it. Although we were given an upgrade, this stay was not as good as the previous ones. The hotel feels stuck in time and is beginning to show signs of needing renovation. At check-in, we received no explanation about the hotel. I booked 5 rooms, and none of the guests were given any information. Upon arriving at the room, there was no Santiago Cake, unlike on previous occasions. The minibar, which used to be complimentary, was not this time—or at least nothing was said to us about it. The pillows were not feather and were uncomfortable. There is still no turndown service, which does not match what one would expect from an Autograph Collection property. The restaurant also was not as pleasing as before.||Therefore, this time the evaluation goes down a notch.
