Stayed 3 nights at this great hotel. Good location close to the central square, lots if places to eat and drink. Room was clean and comfy and well equipped. Reception was great although did not speak much English. Breakfast was just coffee and pastries but adequate.

Very old hotel in heart of historical size of Montevideo city. Room size is very small but room is clean. Inside room have only small table, tv, bed. Is good for 1-2 days specially for observe city center (full day excursion). Have good roof top with perfect view. In morning no have breakfast - just coffee tea with croissant, but can have food outside.

I was vey happy with my stay at Hotel Palacio. It is in the middle of the city, so it was a short walk from the ferry terminal and I could walk everywhere I needed to go (including to the art museum, which is a bit far flung.||My room was comfortable and nice. It had a private bathroom and balcony and a huge bathroom. Good wifi, hot water, and a comfy bed. There is free coffee and pastries in the morning. The staff were very helpful. It is an old hotel, so it has that history and charm about it, which I like. It also seemed secure.

You can either say the rooms are a bit old and dated and worn or that they have charm and character. We chose to go with the latter and were quite happy. Location might look a bit sketchy at first but it's actually very well situated and, honestly, all of old Montevideo might look a bit worrisome at first glance but we never felt unsafe. Lovely views from the hotel's rooftop. The elevator is...an experience.

Lovely old hotel, with great ambience. Bathroom excellent, bedroom rather tired. Staff very friendly.

This is a throughly charming hotel. The price was great for an elegant old building in a central area of town. I loved the old elevator! The room I booked had a delightful balcony that looked out over the city. The whole thing was thoroughly romantic.

Excellent location in Old Town. GREAT shower. Lovely staff. Old building. Great gated elevator. You need to be able to climb steps to stay here. Rooms are old. Towels are thin. But price is right. Breakfast of hot drink and rolls is included.
