This is a charming hotel with a beautiful hibiscus and green garden courtyard overlooking the harbour. It is conveniently situated in the heart of the old town, among and close to the best restaurants, and a short hike to beach clubs to the west and north. It also has one of the prettiest and chilled restaurants in town. This offers a variety of local cuisine and a discount to folk who stay at the hotel. Some of the hotel guests enjoyed the food so much they ate in the restaurant every evening! ||All of the staff are very friendly, and helpful. We very much enjoyed our stay and meeting both the staff and guests from all around the world including South Africa, Belgium and Germany. ||The hotel also has a small pool which is great to cool off in and enjoy the first and last embers of sunlight. Though it is small if you wish to plough lots of lengths.||The only challenging point to highlight is the lack of owned and free hotel car parking and high levels of traffic in Ulcinj which can sometimes make navigation and parking difficult. In the lower town driving around can be quite stressful as cars often park with butts into the road, and pedestrians walk as much on the road as the pavements. However with hard-won know-how of the town, there are three 'convenient' areas where car parking is possible; two free areas and one chargeable. The two free areas are around the harbour (which necessitates a short stroll up to the hotel) and on the north side of the old town walls. There is also a pay for car park on the north side of the old town wall where it is usually possible to park at most times. Buying a day ticket allows you to drive in and out as much as you wish for 24 hours. As of Sept 24, this costs around 15 Euros/day. You can also pay by the hour, c. 2 euros/hour.

This hotel’s best feature by far is its stunning location, but that does little to compensate for everything else. We had. 2 bed apartment that felt quite dated. The only aircon unit was in the living area, the furthest it could be from the bedrooms and given it was nearly 40c, this felt like a bad design. ||While we didn't plan to self-cater, it would have been quite tricky given that the kitchen contained no plates, nothing to cook with, just a handful of cutlery. ||The bathroom was small and also felt dated. ||The breakfast was really poor. The hot choices were pretty poor quality (watery scrambled eggs, etc.) while the cereals consisted of 3 ultra-processed chocolate sugary choices, and the museli was a bowl of dry, uncooked oats with a couple of raisins in it - yuck! There was fruit but nothing looked fresh. ||The worst thing by far was the noise. The hotel is positioned above the nightclubs, which meant that on both nights, it was impossible to sleep until the music stopped at 1am. Our room was probably in the worst possible location, being right on the edge, but there was no escaping how loud it was. I asked reception for earplugs, but they didn't have any. If we hadn't been at the end of our holiday, we would have left after 1 night and gone elsewhere. ||We didn't venture to the beach because honestly, it just looked awful! Literally, every inch of sand was covered by a parasol or lounger, this is not our idea of a nice beach. Thankfully, the hotel's pool, although small, never got that busy, so after exploring the old town, which, to be honest, didn't take long at all, we just relaxed by the pool.||The only good thing was the staff. Everyone, apart from the lady who checked us in and didn’t show us where the pool was, was really friendly and helpful. The transport up the hill with our luggage on the golf buggy was fun and in the heat, a saviour!

At first sight this hotel is absolutely stunning with amazing views of the beach sea and town . It has some amazing character and this reflects the stunning views .|My friend and I arrived on a Saturday evening, it was late and the taxi driver wasn't sure how to get us to the door of the hotel ..we eventually had to walk up a very steep hill with our cases and found the entrance ourselves. ( we found out later that a golf buggy is available to help with this .|The lady who checked us in wasn't the most helpful .infact the whole reception team were not helpful at all .I asked for help as one of our bedroom windows would not open ..no one came to sort this. We asked for directions to the town and were given incorrect information and never with a smile , the young girl was very moody .|The restaurant and breakfast staff were amazing and so happy and friendly..breakfast was ok .a little variation would be good .|We sat around the pool a lot for the first few days. But one morning we went down and the pool water was green ..we saw staff walking past it and nothing was done .it did not smell good and was most probably a health hazard. |This hotel could have a lot to offer..it needs lots of TLC, and a strong, happy and helpful reception staff. |Also the sun loungers were falling apart and there was only 4 there to use !! |This hotel would have to improve so much for my friend and I to return..until then I won't be returning.

I stayed here with a friend for a week. The family run hotel is beautiful, location stunning over looking the Adriatic, staff amazing! The food was good and who knew Montenegro did such good wine! We had such a good week. We were looked after well not just in the hotel but all the restaurants both in the old and new towns. The people in Ulcinj were fun and attentive, you just wanted to spend more time with everyone. We went in May and it should be noted this is before their busy summer holiday period. Some bars were not yet open. But there are plenty of restaurants. |A trip to the old town is definitely worth a visit, but not for the less mobile. The hotel was a bit of a hike, but well worth it. |Special shout to Chism, Martaeo and Esad (apologies if spelling not correct) you all made our stay so memorable. I just want to smile 🙂😊

Some bad: small room with very basic equipment (not even one chair!!) although with comfortable bedding. Many goods: the perfect location, the fantastic building, the nice welcome, the good breakfast and the very reasonable pricing. A good address but not for an extended stay.

Absolutely amazing place. Service was wonderful, the staff genuinely wonderful. The views from the rooms are spectacular, and the rooms themselves are very comfortable. Only issue is the nightclubs in Ulcinj, which apparently don't have any noise pollution regulations, as despite being a kilometre away, even with windows and shutters closed, you can still hear every word of the utterly awful music choices, if you're in one of the south facing rooms (which is especially annoying as these have some of the best of the incredible views) According to many sites this is the best hotel in Ulcinj. It does involve hills (this is Montenegro though so you shouldn't be surprised), but I absolutely agree with that. Top notch, absolutely recommend.

The hotel is excellent, rooms are clean, staff is helpful and genuinely kind and welcoming. The view was outstanding from our room and also from the terrace where we had our breakfasts ||We were not informed before arrival, that we can ask for a golf car, so we carried all our bags up to hill which can be exhausted for those not in a good shape. The closest parking option is a good 5-6 minute walk. Consider if you choose this hotel that you have to climb the stairs, or walk uphill each time you want to go anywhere outside the tiny old town on the rock. ||The dinner was simply bad, the risotto was uncooked rice soaking in water, but apparently there was a chaos in the kitchen that night. The breakfast is ok. They serve fruits, but quality seemed volatile. ||The hotel does not have its own beach, you get a ticket, that entitles you to get a sunbed at the closest beach, but that one was extremely crowded, so we walked to another beach which is about 20 minutes away. The pool is tiny, but nice. ||The beds and pillows are very comfortable, but underneath the hotel, at the bottom of the rock there are bars and clubs, and the music is unbearably loud until 1.a.m. so we could not sleep until then. In the mornings the music comes up from the hotel terrace, so you can have a good night sleep between 1.00-7.20 a.m. ||Despite of all deficiencies if you are late bird, or you want to party it is a very nice place to stay.

The Hotel Palata Venezia is a top quality hotel, rambling over almost an entire neighbourhood. It has an outdoor bar with excellent service, a restaurant and a swimming pool in a sunny corner of the complex. The rooms are spacious though not big, and have everything you could need including a very comfortable bed. We stayed here for 2 nights in August and wished it could be longer. The staff were great, very courteous and also multilingual. Would definitely stay here again.
