Gorgeous old place in a wonderful location. Could use a few updates, especially the AC (it was VERY hot during my last visit, and the AC couldn't quite keep up). Still, a lovely hotel.

Very beautiful building and interior. Our room (112) had a lovely huge balcony. The room was fine, well cleaned, but looked a bit old. The bathtub/shower would need renovation. The hotel is located in a very pleasant area of Pécs, close to many sights. The breakfast was good, but a bit unorganized and I had expected a wider variety from a hotel that otherwise seems very luxurious. Overall a pleasant experience, and I wouldn't mind returning

The management and how they treat customers and resolve problematic situations is not acceptable for today's standards. Upon arrival we have been informed about the fee for each pet which was double to what we were initially told- after arguing we have been given the previously quoted price huf 5000 per/night - maybe a mistake we were not too worried about. Later during the stay we have been informed that due to planned maintenance someone would need to check the room which we had no problem with. However this maintenance appeared to be police like room inspection where a lady started taking pictures of what they thought was damaged by us/pets including normal wear and tear, dust, stains etc (is this a museum?). - This is not a way to handle such stuff, we should have been told that they noticed some damage and wanted to check with us rather than hiding behind a fake maintenance routine - we felt really badly treated and lost the sense of any comfort after that. On the departure date we were told that the fee for the damage would be eur 300 which we disagreed with as the only real damage were the curtains - the cat. I wanted to speak to the manager but apparently this was not possible, after not accepting the 300 eur the fee was dropped to 200 eur to which we asked for a proof that the curtains did cost that much - this was not provided. Finally the claim was yet again reduced to eur 130 which was acceptable (even though unfair) and we’ve paid. We have no problem covering the damage but this was simply a rip off attempt. Moreover we have paid approx 300 eur for the pet’s stay so I would think any minor damage should be covered by this amount - given it’s a pet (cat) friendly hotel. We feel the lack of clear communication and the way this was done is not really acceptable and would not recommend this hotel to people that travel with pets. The treatment left us with a bitter taste which could have easily been avoided had the situation been handled properly - openly. We have traveled with pets for nearly 10 years and have never experienced such a situation before

This is a beautiful grand old hotel first opened in 1915, the public areas display the beautiful and extravagant secessionist architecture of the age at its best – a kind of romantic, medieval imagination, especially in the dining room and the hall. Like almost everything else worth seeing in Hungary, the hotel was built in the glory days of the Austro-Hungarian empire, those 50 years from 1876 to 1918 when the country was still well governed and an amazing amount of development took place in just a few decades. The hotel is in an excellent position, right in the heart of the beautiful old city of Pecs. Unfortunately, the rooms are a slightly different category – generally adequate, but somewhat worn and in need of maintenance and refurbishment. Some rooms have air conditioning, most have a refrigerator, but there are recurring maintenance issues. In our room the TV was a very old vintage, and did not work, until we discovered that the aerial is broken. The remote control needed new batteries. The basin was somewhat (but not completely) blocked. The furniture was worn, but serviceable. The beds were good and we slept well. Overall, it is a reasonable 3* hotel, with fantastic public areas – well worth staying here just for the ambience and the atmosphere. The rooms on the higher floors are a bit more basic, and thos on the lower floors might be affected by noise when there is a function.

In general, our stay at Palatinus Hotel was a good one. The hotel location is excellent, a walking distance from the center of Pecs. The staff, at reception and breakfast, were nice and hospitable. Breakfast buffet suits all tastes... Rooms in particular are simple. Not spacious nor very small. It does the job for someone who is planning to stay out all day and just come back to shower, rest and sleep. They have most of the amenity needed. The furniture is old, but heard that the hotel management are planning to renovate! Clean beds and sheets, and the mattress was comfortable (hard european type). The air-conditioning is very weak and hardly working! Needs maintenance and cleaning.

Art Nouveau hotel on a main pedestrian street with dozens of bars and restaurants nearby. Located in heart of the city a few blocks from Szechenyi Square and within walking distance of all major attractions. Over 100 years of history as one of the fanciest hotels in Pecs. Renovated in 1976-88. Nice large room and great breakfast buffet.

If you're looking to spend a night or two in a Grand Hotel from a bygone era, this amazing hotel will show you what it was like in the days of old. The Grand staircase, the beautiful mosaics and porcelain from Zsolnay at its heyday with the service as if you were in the movie "The Grand Budapest Hotel." Don't look for the modern luxury of the Marriott BonVoy Elite upgrades, but, with the right mindset, you will appreciate a different era's luxury. I personally welcomed the infrequent breaks of cookie-cutter hotels.

Fantastic position very friendly service. Unfortunately the hotel inside is very dated. We had a suit. The fridge was empty in the bathroom no toiletteries no tissue anywhere. Very old furniture carpet and curtons. Absolute no value for money. Parking extra .|Pécs city is very beautiful lots of history. We enjoyed our time there.
