Hotel Palazzo di Valli

This review is so over due. We stayed at the Hotel Palazzo di Valli in Siena in October of 2025. We stayed for 5 nights. We traveled through Italy for 3 weeks and this was by far the best stay we had while on this fantastic trip. We arrived by train into Siena and took a taxi from the train station. Upon our arrival we were greeted by Giacomo and he made us feel so at home. The hotel is ran so very efficiently from check in, to the rooms being serviced daily and the wonderful breakfast that is served every morning. The rooms are so very comfortable and beautifully decorated. And the views are breathtaking. After a long day of venturing out and you return to the hotel you can ask for a glass of wine or a bottle of wine to be served to you outside and you can enjoy the views that we all long for. The hotel is located outside the wall of Siena, but it is a very easy city bus ride to the Center of the City. You simply catch a bus at the street outside the driveway. Lorenzo is the other gentleman that we dealt with and he was extremely helpful and very nice too. Upon our departure Giacomo called a taxi for us so we could get back to the train station. I promise you if you are in Siena and you stay here at Hotel Palazzo di Valli you will not be disappointed. By the way at breakfast we had the best cappuccino during our entire trip !!!! I had the most amazing stay at this charming hotel. From the moment I arrived, Giacomo and Lorenzo made me feel less like a guest and more like family. Their warmth and genuine hospitality truly sets this place apart.||The hotel is located about a mile from the city center, an easy and pleasant walk, and offers a peaceful retreat from the crowds. Giacomo’s love and pride for Siena is infectious and he took the time to share the city’s history with me. He provided thoughtful recommendations for restaurants and activities that made my visit even more special.||The room and overall décor of the hotel are beautifully old-world, full of character and charm. The views of the valley are absolutely stunning and you can watch an unforgettable sunrise right from the property!||Each morning, a delicious breakfast is served using local, organic ingredients, and Susanna makes a fantastic cappuccino that’s the perfect start to the day.||I would absolutely recommend staying here, especially for couples looking for a romantic, relaxing stay with authentic Tuscan hospitality. I would happily return.

Hotel Palazzo di Valli was one of the highlights of our entire trip. From the moment we arrived, Giacomo, one of the owners, welcomed us with such warmth that we instantly felt at home. He checked us in, walked us through everything we needed to know, and even helped us plan the perfect day trip to San Gimignano, Volterra, and Monteriggioni. His recommendations were spot-on and made our time in Tuscany unforgettable. The villa itself is a 17th-century gem with the charm of old Italy but the comfort and cleanliness you hope for when travelling. The views are absolutely unbeatable, some of the best we saw in Tuscany. Breakfast was perfect every single morning. It's so nice not having to go out and look for a place to eat. Everything we needed was right there, fresh and delicious. Giacomo, you truly felt like family. We already miss you and your kind hospitality. This is a small, lovely villa converted into a hotel just outside the Roman gate of Siena. 10 mins walking to enter the walls of the city. The most magnificent view of Tuscany from the room. Nice breakfast and comfortable accommodations. The employees are helpful and informative. Only recommendation is to be careful of the gateway (built for carriage) when arriving by car … and make advance dinner reservations in the town during the busy season.

Their breakfast is great! I sat on the terrace over looking the valley while drinking my cappuccino while working on my laptop. Very quiet place to relax and knowing that I can walk to the center where all the action is. Parking is available. And they sell their own olive oil and several wines are available.

We were in Italy for nearly 3 weeks, but this was our favorite stay of all. We spent 3 nights at Hotel Palazzo di Valli, in a room with a vaulted, frescoed ceiling and a gorgeous view of the Siena hillside. Our room was quiet, spotlessly clean, and felt welcoming with an in-room tea service that included cookies. Breakfast, held on the terrace level, included the typical generous continental fare we found throughout Italy, but the cappuccinos were particularly good. ||The proprietors, Giacomo and Lorenzo, gave more of a vibe of hosts or future friends than is typically true of short hotel stays (and Palazzo di Valli felt more boutique than any of the others), showing us hospitality throughout our time there. They entered into our plans, sitting down with us to help us bring them to fruition, and offering excellent ideas of their own. They even helped us figure out how to get to our next stop, Assisi. A previous guest had created a couple of bound photo books of her stays with them, clearly demonstrating her appreciation of the uniqueness of this experience. Siena’s town wall is only a 10-minute walk, with Piazza del Campo another 10 beyond that, making this boutique hotel, which welcomed us with such hospitality, well worth it.

This was such a lovely spot, we were sorry to only stay one night. The hotel is gorgeous, matched only by the view from the terrace, but the best part of our experience was Giacomo, our host for the night. He was so kind and helpful and I would not hesitate to return to spend more time. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. It’s a short walk into Siena, even if it’s a bit rainy. One tip: if you have rented a car make sure it’s small - the entry into the driveway is tight! But charming like the rest of the property.

Unfortunately, we didn't have the pleasure of spending two nights here as planned, as we had booked the wrong date due to an error in the booking system. Although the policy did not allow for free cancellation and it was our mistake, the hotel was kind enough to cancel our booking free of charge. Giacomo was very friendly and helpful and even offered us alternative dates, which we unfortunately couldn't take up. If we ever come back to Siena, we will definitely book here again!

Very nice experience and much needed friendliness after dealing with the primarily boorish aggressive and miserable people in Rome. We have been disappointed by the lack of manners and human respect/decency on the part of Italians. Our host reinstated hope that not everyone in this country is an angry barbaric savage.
