Hotel Palazzo Papaleo

This hotel exceeded every expectation and made our stay in Otranto a 10/10. The rooftop terrace was simply wonderful - two levels of views of the ocean and town; the most beautiful place to sit at sunset. A hot tub to be enjoyed when it cools off in the evening. A delicious breakfast with healthy options. And truthfully the best cocktails we had while in Otranto ~ enjoyed on the terrace of course. The location is smack in the middle of everything and yet somehow it is still quiet inside the hotel at night, allowing a great night’s sleep. The staff is what shines even more - Mana and Francesco were there every night, greeting us with hugs and smiles, making the most delicious cocktails, and available for all of our questions and good conversation. They were so kind. And the lady at the front desk and the lady serving breakfast (I am sorry to have forgotten their names), but they were so kind and helpful. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed ~ cleaned both during the day and in the evening for turn down service. The cost blows me away in comparison to what we paid at other similar hotels in Puglia - it was incredibly fair, especially given we went during high season. The best experience. Grazie Millie!

It is a fabulous hotel and location. Could not ask for better. The front desk was so professional and courteous. However the wait staff on the rooftop and at breakfast weren’t very friendly. But didn’t really affect our stay. Would definitely stay here again. Room 22 was great!

We had an amazing stay! The hotel was beautiful, clean, and cosy – it really felt like a home away from home. Our room was lovely, and the air conditioning was excellent.||||The location couldn’t be better – right in the center of the old town of Otranto, within the historic walls and just steps away from great restaurants and the beach.||||But what made it truly special was the staff – from reception to breakfast, the bar and housekeeping – everyone was incredibly kind, welcoming and professional. We felt so well taken care of. ||Would love to come back and definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting the area!

Can't recommend this Hotel enough. Great location just inside the historic center. The Hotel is beautiful and the staff were beyond helpful. Loved the rooftop area for relaxing and having breakfast. Great views of the Ocean and it's only yards away.

We had an excellent stay at this charming hotel! The location is fabulous, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was great - so many different things were placed on the buffet, and the variety was different every day. Our room (23) had a small balcony facing the sea (and the busy street below), which was great for reading, people-watching, and just enjoying the view. The ladies at the front desk were full of good advice about parking and restaurants. The hotel is in the pedestrian-only old quarter, so parking is a bit of an adventure, but the trade-off is worth it to be adjacent to the cathedral and right in the middle of so much historic charm. (We parked at the free public lot by the port for three days with no problems - it was about a 10 minute walk from the hotel.) Highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Otranto!

Really special staff that are quite helpful and rooms are sized right especially when you have access to rooftop or common areas to relax after a busy day. Can’t imagine a better place to stay in Otronto.

Excellent hotel, great place to stay. It is right next to the Cathedral, so the location is in the central old town, yet far enough off the main tourist streets that it is quiet. The room was very well furnished and supplied. We had a very private deck which was a welcome retreat for an afternoon break. Breakfast on a roof patio is beautiful, with a fine view across the harbor, plus great local food. Staff are excellent and helpful, from cleaning people through front desk people. This was one of the best lodging stops on our 1-month travel through S Italy. Highly recommended.
