Hotel Palazzo Squarcialupi - La Castellina

This was the perfect hotel in the perfect location to explore the Tuscany region. The rooms were large and decorated in a Tuscan style. The staff went above and beyond on everything. A beautiful terrace overlooking the Tuscan landscape for enjoying a glass of wine or dinner. The town itself is a wonderful small town, but wonderful restaurants and small shops. The best!

A fabulous hotel in the centre of Castellina in Chianti. We have stayed a few times now & each time it doesn't disappoint. The staff are really friendly & helpful and the breakfast buffet has plenty of choice and always fresh. Having the pool is a bonus if you just want to relax & chill.|Highly recommended.

I recently spent 4 evenings at this beautiful hotel in the heart of Castellina de Chianti. Not only is it a beautiful hotel with spacious rooms, but the amenities offered and staff were next level. There are several beautiful common areas on Floor 1, you can just imagine life back in the day when it was a family home. The pool was beyond peaceful, very clean and refreshing. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I had to leave to catch a flight at 3:30am and they offered to make a coffee, assisted with my luggage and made sure I met my driver safely. I stayed on the street side, and although the views of the valleys were beautiful I very much enjoyed hearing the hustle and bustle down below (never loud) and watching the action. The restaurant was delicious, wine shop very convenient and was nice to be so close to other restaurants and shopping. My air con worked great, as did the tv and wi fi. If you prefer to stay in a little village as opposed to a villa outside of town, this is the place!

This is a wonderful location in a wonderful location Perched atop a hill with wonderful views to enjoy from the time you sit down to breakfast to finishing the day with a glass of wine or Grappa. The people here are really nice and the private parking comes in handy. We will return.

We could not have been more charmed! Not only is the hotel in a suberb location with exceptional views, the staff are friendly, helpful and accommodating. We had such a lovely time, using the hotel as base for our travel around Chianti. The breakfast provided a wonderful array of buffet items and we experienced delicious dinners in the hotel restaurant, both with gorgeous views that added to the experience.

Can’t say enough about this 15th Century Hotel. You step back in time upon entering this amazing place. The rooms are spacious, comfortable and views overlooking the valley are amazing. Several areas in the hotel to relax, sip wine from the winery associated with the hotel. Enjoy the beautiful spa in the lower level after a meal at the eatery directly across from the hotels front door. Great care is given to maintain a hotel of this age and it’s obvious that it’s a priority. We slept so well we missed the amazing breakfast buffet but the staff went out of their way and served my wife and I coffee and fresh croissants in a private room. The setting in this charming village is one that we’ll visit again but will stay for more than one night. It was a layover stop on our way to the village of Cortona. If you go plan more than one night.

This hotel was our last place to stay in Tuscany, and our cycling tour operator saved the BEST for last. We arrived in the rain and the next day was rainy so we enjoyed using the spa to relax. The rooms are spacious and no two are the same. We enjoyed the breakfasts and had one dinner in the hotel restaurant. Too bad it was on the cool, rainy side - we could have enjoyed the beautiful outdoor pool overlooking the Tuscan hills. ||The town is old, interesting but small. Lots of interesting restaurants and shops.||The staff and owners of the hotel are truly amazing. Monica worked tirelessly to secure transportation from Castellina to Florence for us - we were so grateful. ||Definitely worth a few nights in Castellina!

This hotel was amazing. The room was so spacious and clean and looked out over the main pedestrian area. The smell of the food and sounds of the diners had us immersed in Italian life. All of the staff were so very friendly and helpful! The facilities were great. We spent time in the wellness centre enjoying the steam room and spa. The location was perfect! Loved our stay in this hotel and hope we can return again.
