I spend about 100 nights a year in hotels. This is, however, only my second review, and for another property in Corsica. The island seems indeed to operate outside of reality when it comes to accommodations, standards, and services.||First, I had to wait over 15 minutes to check in, after wasting hours trying to reach the place following a road closure (with no notification from hotel). There was indeed nobody at front desk. When I asked why they didn't notify upcoming guests of road closures, the female at front desk became quite hysterical and nasty. Eventually, she told me what I heard a lot in Corsica upon commenting on anything (but pretty much nowhere else) that I should go back to my home country, and that I was not welcome in Corsica. How is it for a welcome as a guest? When I asked where I could drop off some trash (Corsica seems to have phased out trash cans supposedly to make the island cleaner somehow, probably expecting tourists will get rid of trash by an act of god), I was told I couldn't. ||Then, the room itself was nice to Corsican standards. But average to Nordic or American standards. What they call ocean view, however, is disappointing. They certainly are not lying. You can kinda see the ocean among buildings, bushes and power lines. As long as you are standing close to the window. But this was not what I am used to or expect when I book a room anywhere advertising ocean view. Also, you don't really see the water from the bed (as the photo shows). ||The property grounds were also rather neglected (again, refer to photos), with the parking lot looking more like a construction site that had been abandoned than anything else.||I cannot comment on the food. After being yelled at by staff, I didn't feel like more interaction, so I skipped the restaurant (I will point out that the food I had at nearby restaurant was the worst ever in France, even though staff was very nice and friendly). I didn't try to get anything in the room either, because, to my surprise (I have never seen something like this anywhere else), there was a huge sign stating eating in room was forbidden. Even though they had some menu... No idea why. I tend to dislike tyrannical policies anywhere anyway, especially when it costs the USMC several hundred dollars a night.||Ultimately, I'd see the place as not meeting reasonable standards, especially when it comes to staff and how rooms are marketed. Or priced for that matter. I will not go back.
