I was here only for a lunch, so I did not sleep here. The restaurant was very big and the service was very friendly. I had fish skewers, which were very tasty. The place is in the city centre, which makes it a nice central place to have a tasty lunch.

We stayed one night in the family room. The hotel is an older hotel with decent rooms. However, the bathroom was not very clean. |There were a lot of fans in the room but it was quite hot despite of it. The airconditioning did not work. |The best thing about the hotel is the staff, they try to make your stay as good as possible. We had to leave early, so they served breakfast 30 mins before scheduled time. |The restaurant at night serves decent food. |This is probably the best place to stay while in Ambanja.

We came here for 11 nights, we had a lovely holiday. The hotel was lovely and clean, the food was a bit repetitive and not much choice. The entertainment in the evening was ok. Kids club was fab, Maxime was great with my daughter. The animation team worked really hard, well done!9 would definitely visit again.

Lovely place great breakfast and snack bar. Very clean and the staff here are very helpful and friendly. We will definitely return! The location is great walking distance to everything we needed. Lidl across the road and a gym not far away and just a short walk to the beach! A nice little pool with sun beds! Perfect!

We stayed two nights at this hotel. It is rather old and the rooms are very simple. But for short stay, it is ok. The only thing I minded was that the room was very hot and the electricity was turned off in the night, so the ventilators didn´t work... ||Do not miss their excursion to the village Ambobaka and then by canoe to a waterfall in the middle of a jungle. It was one of the best excursions we made in Madagascar with a very good guide Elvis.

We are staying at the senses hotel Palma nova !! Unbelievable....we have been here since Friday 19th of may ..... The hotel is lovely very impressed at first ...|| Rooms nice but the food not so good no variety no food labels to know what you are eating!!! Tonight cleaners arrived to clean the room which we've been out of most of the day !! We had to find somewhere to go.. went on the roof for a short time only to come back and find no one has been in the room ??!! We can't believe it ..... Never had such an experience in all the years we've come abroad .... So disappointed....

Walking around Ambanja I got the impression that Palma Nova is the best place to stay in town. Cosiness, quietness and atmosphere are things to value in a dusty, noisy and quite unattractive town (apart from the river and the surrounding plantation for which it is famous). The guesthouse is really welcoming, with a great veranda and a nice garden, tortoise included! Very friendly and careful staff. Rooms are ok. The only downside was the mattress, which offered us an amazing fakir experience! ;)

Ambanja is a little town on the way to Diego Suarez (Antsiranana) or to Ankify port of boats to Nosy Be. Not to expect to see too much touristic attractions except local people life and Millot cacao plantation around.||Hotel Palma Nova is acceptable considering the general economical and social conditions of the country herself. Rooms not too clean are scattered around a green garden really sympa, there is hot water and shower in the room. nice local meals, friendly staff..||may be an acceptable choice for a night on the way to north.
