We spent four super fun nights at Hotel Palms with our family—me, my wife and our boys (ages 7 and 4). Our 2‑queen room was updated, spotlessly clean and spacious. Super laid back, yet very accommodating vibe, as you’d expect from a boutique-motel. We were able to text the hotel regarding any specific needs and they were super prompt with replying! Due to the hot temps, we didn’t get a chance to enjoy the cozy fire place, but did hang in the courtyard a good bit after the beach and at the end of the night. In addition, the location couldn’t be better—just a few blocks from Beaches Town Center, with easy walking access to restaurants, coffee shops, and of course the beautiful beach (beach chairs provided in the room were clutch!). In short, Hotel Palms delivered exceptional service, spotless/updated rooms, and a friendly, upbeat atmosphere from a locally owned/operated business that suited our family stay perfectly. Highly recommended for families looking for a stylish yet laid-back coastal getaway. We’ll definitely be returning!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed celebrating our 41st wedding anniversary at The Hotel Palms! It was a short walk to shops, restaurants, and the beach. The manager Madison made it a very special occasion and promptly addressed every request. The room was beautiful, clean, and uniquely boutiquely furnished. We loved the artwork! The cafe was the perfect way to start our day with yummy Chai tea and breakfast sandwiches. We look forward to another stay and highly recommended this hotel. Thank you!

Great location! We were able to walk about anywhere we wanted (beach, shopping, restaurants, etc.). We both had to do some remote work and the WiFi was great. Rooms are bigger than they look on the website - we had plenty of room. The staff was accommodating with getting me an ironing board and iron before check-in. When I called for more towels they were outside my door in literally less than two minutes. Bathroom toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, body wash) were high quality. The only downside was pretty thin toilet paper and low water pressure for the shower - but it's an older building, so resolution of the water pressure probably isn't an easy fix. The on-site coffee shop was great, too! The gal running it was so sweet and personable. Would definitely stay again next time we visit Jax family and friends.

Such a sweet spot in the perfect area. Loved the touches in the room and that they provided beach chairs. The beds were super comfy and the bathroom was really nice! Walkable area and really nice people

The Hotel Palms is a little hidden gem! We had a wonderful stay. It is centrally located to all the great restaurants , shopping and beach just a short stroll. Easy close parking. The fun urban interior is bright and cheery, the room was spotless, the shower spacious and hot, but the most notable element of the stay was the impeccable customer service! We highly recommend!!

We picked a staycation for Valentine's weekend. We've stayed in the Jacksonville Beach area previously and enjoyed the area. I had really high hopes for a relaxing, quiet weekend, but I only got the quiet part, unfortunately. The hotel is laid out nicely, and the vibe is great. But we will not be returning. Pros: Hotel has been updated but still has that older style charm Pictures are accurate Room was clean and cute QUIET....no slamming doors or loud guests Cons: The parking was not ideal. A few parking spaces in front of the hotel are directly on the street. Which is also a very busy corner. This did not make going out easy. The bed....where do I start?! It felt like a piece of plywood covered with a sheet. Super firm and made noises every time you moved. Sleep was not had both nights. We actually considered leaving Saturday night to drive home because the bed was so horrible. The water pressure in the shower was nonexistent, and it took at least 10 minutes to get hot.

Such a gem! Designer boutique hotel with superb hospitality. It’s more like you can sleep over in an art gallery… with amazingly comfortable mattress and on Italian bed sheets:):)… and a shower…. oh, it should be a separate review only for THE shower!

Yelp
The location was amazing! Cheapest hotel in the area! Parking space. The coffee shop was closed most of the time we were there but it's busy! There was drip coffee available for us though. Greg the owner is around most mornings so it was nice to say hi! I love the Malin goetz products and love that it's regular size so I don't feel bad using small travel size. It's right in the middle everything. There was one bike and I used it to go down to Jacksonville beach. Walls are kinda thin. Our room was the bunk bed which was neat to have for a few days. Fridge space was perfect. We removed the drinks and placed them back. All the drinks and snacks were priced so I appreciated the transparency. My sheets felt damp so I think we shouldn't have turned off the ac as the area is foggy/damp. Really great stay.

Yelp
We did not stay here, but a friend of ours did and we came by to get changed, etc. Parking seems pretty limited, but there were a few spots open. Be careful with parking in the lot across or next, tow trucks were in full force. The hotel had a courtyard where guests could hang out, have a few drinks and mingle. The room that our friends stayed in seemed very cabin-ish, but very nice. The shower was SMALL. Not sure if there's a big deal to some or not. Super close to restaurants in the area and about half a mile from the beach.

Yelp
Hotel Palms is my favorite place to spend my Saturday or Sunday morning. Every weekend Show Pigeon Coffee is at the bar and makes the most delicious coffee beverages. There are 4 drinks that stay consistent and a different "wild card". I personally love to always try the wild card- I love trying new things. Jaime, the barista/crafts(wo)man is magic at what she does. My favorite item on the menu is the Smoking Bee, especially during the hot summers in Florida. It is a jazzed up sparking americano with a wonderful hint of orange... don't knock it til you try it. I also recommend you try the Leche de Tigre with the infamous "buzz button". If you've never had one before be prepared for an acid trip in your mouth... it's the most insane sensation (10/10). Lastly, the atmosphere is what really makes this place. Everyone is so friendly and great to hangout with! I've never had a bad experience here and I really don't think it's possible. Plus it's dog friendly!!!!

Yelp
I woke up this morning and said you know that I want a really good cup of coffee The kind of cup of coffee that's made by somebody with a bunch of these ingredients that I don't know what they are but it tastes amazing and this is what was recommended. I almost didn't go in cuz I wasn't sure if they actually served coffee but I'm glad I did the places quaint it's a boutique hotel with a small coffee bar. They only have four different types of coffee but they're all made with love I had to wait about 20 minutes cuz it was crowded but I didn't mind as I sat in my rocking chair and told myself I'm going to have an amazing day

Melissa M.

Yelp
This little boutique hotel is exactly where I would stay again if in Atlantic Beach. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. The rooms are nicely decorated and very clean. It's location is perfect. It is a close walk to the beach and has great nearby restaurants. I would absolutely recommend staying here!

Monica W.

Yelp
Beautiful Beach Hotel. You don't even need a car. You can walk to restaurants as well as many other places. Cvs is across the street. Quiet and cozy with nice cold AC! Even a coffee bar in the morning. I'd stay here again! Great place!!

Olga Y.

Yelp
Amazing, charming hotel! Love the design. 5 minutes walk to the beach, close to bars and restaurants. Love that place!

Rebecca N.

Yelp
I stayed here with some co-Worker's/friends. We had five girls in our wonderful room. We were a short couple of blocks away from the beach. I enjoyed the court yard outside. I love the different themes rooms. I loved the place were you can dine. Continental breakfast is available. The decor in the dining room was decorated in 1960's theme. It was small and two tables available in the room. I fixed my breakfast and ate outside in the courtyard. The man who ran the place was exceptionally kind and helpful. I hear they were undergoing some changes/up grades? I need to reserve another room again soon. The parking area is very small. I have a big truck, so I parked in the bank parking lot that was huge. No problem there. Kudos to Palms Retro! My favorite perk was the color changing shower head. I got a kick out of that. You will too.

Amelia B.

Yelp
Luckily I know someone who found out about Hotel Palms Show Pigeon Coffee and I quickly became a fan. If you're brave enough to try the wildcard coffee of the day, you'll end up with a sensational treat topped with surprises like dandelion buttons. The barista is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about finding the perfect drink. This might just be the best coffee in Jacksonville!

Alli M.

Yelp
This stylish motor inn was clean and as described. It's a matter of personal preference if you would like the Hotel Palms or not. I consider it to be a hybrid between an Airbnb and a motor side hotel. But unfortunately I didn't see that it had the best of either option. If it was like an Airbnb, there would be complementary snacks, a coffee maker in the room (if even just for tea or hot cereal) and special touches. There were snacks and drinks in the room but all for a fee. If it was an Airbnb there wouldn't be multiple guests around. It can get very noisy. The walls are thin and doors face a courtyard with a fire pit (so I'd highly recommend the suite room 306 if you choose to stay here so your bedroom is not facing it!) There are quiet hours after 10 PM but nothing to enforce that. When we were there, a group of guests were screaming and partying and going strong still at midnight. (Don't you love when people use shared spaces as their own personal backyard?) It's a hotel yet there's no front desk staff after early evening hours. When we did need something however we called a phone number, and someone did bring us extra linens..This is a crazy busy area and I felt like there could've been more security measures. I would've felt safer if the doors that they close to the courtyard after 5 pm, or whenever staff leave, actually locked and were available only for guests to open. The immediate area has numerous restaurants within walking distance and the beach. The streets bordering both sides of the hotel are extremely busy with pedestrians and car traffic so we didn't use the free bikes the hotel provides. Other than noise, bare bones amenities, and an hvac unit that smelled, it was an ok stay. Cute, kitschy mid century modern/industrial style, clean, the people who worked at the hotel were very nice, and it was a walkable location to a lot of things.

Rosanna S.

Yelp
Cute beach themed hotel, very modern but relaxed. My husband and I truly enjoyed our stay here. The rooms are newly renovated and clean. They are extremely large, too. There are bikes to ride around and explore the neighborhood with. I wish I had taken pictures! The new theme is great and I noticed that Yelp doesn't have any photos yet. I see photos of the old retro theme they had, which are no longer accurate. Please visit their website to see the updated look. You'll love it!

Hannah S.

Yelp
Such a cute hotel off the beaten path. Location is close to all that Atlantic beach has to offer and walkable to the beach. It is tucked away on a pretty busy street but has plenty of parking. Rooms and environment have a fun beach's theme to them, it's a whole vibe. Very instagrammable. I would definitely stay again!

Yelp
Imagine there was a place you could retreat to where from the very first moment you walked through the door you instantly felt like a local? *A place you could drop in and always find good conversation, tips on the area and a cold glass of wine or local beer after a day at the beach. An atmosphere that brings you back to the motor court experience from your childhood, but with a twist. A beachy updated mix, of mid century architectural elements, surf and health culture. All things chill. *The place is called Hotel Palms and the first and only choice destination for the inaugural Beach Vibes Yoga retreat I will be hosting in October! Swooning from the moment I first laid my eyes on the place, I knew it felt right to bring my passion for yoga to this sublime location. Whatsmore, Hotel Palms staff is always available to provide recommendations and even create customizable itineraries for those who wish to stay after the retreat or for another visit. And visit you will, time and time again. *Located 3 blocks from the Atlantic Ocean and in walking distance to the shops and restaurants of Beaches Town Center, Hotel Palms is the ideal getaway for not only yogis but those who desire a boutique hotel experience in a localized atmosphere. From yoga on the beach and in the courtyard, to bike riding through the neighboring residential areas, you will find here what you have been needing whether you knew it or not. *Perfectly placed in the heart of Atlantic Beach, Hotel Palms consists of a single building of 11 connected rooms whose doors face a private courtyard, lending to the collective response from visitors who feel compelled to contribute to the motel's community vibe. The fire pit in the court yard is a gathering place in the evening to hang out and talk story of the waves of the day or to take in the evening beach breeze before heading out to dinner. Hotel Palms also hosts community events, bringing local artists and musicians together where the courtyard comes alive with activity. These gatherings bring together individuals that live in the surrounding beach towns whom inter mingle with hotel guests, creating a superb mix. Guests leave the hotel feeling justly as Hotel Palms hope they will, as an "unlikely local." I give it the highest recommendation for those who seek an authentic beach experience in the Atlantic/Neptune beaches area.

Yelp
I came here after a friend invited me to the Food Party Pop Up. It was a 5 course Vegan Culinary Experience that Food Party puts on once a month. Not well versed in the vegan / vegetarian food options but everything was amazing! The Chefs David Smith and Chason Spenser had full creative liberty for this menu. Simple vegetables dressed up like the sweet potato and sun-choke risotto. simple yet delicious for a five course meal! My favorite course was the Smoked Pineapple and Coconut dessert paired with home made moonshine pineapple cockFood Party has done a events this before in Jan it was a 4 course Brunch paired with craft coffee and tea infusions from Show Pigeon coffee. I love how they partner with other small businesses to get their name out! The venue was the perfect spot for this event! I did't know Hotel Palms was here tucked away in Atlantic Beach I must have driven by it tons of times. Next time I have family in town I will recommend them to stay here. Cute modern style affordable hotel with an open court yard and outdoor showers. Looking for something to pencil in on fi a week night check out the next Food Party Pop Up at Hotel Palms.

Todd S.

Yelp
I have few things I truly am passionate about but this place is one of them. The Hotel Palms is a classic roadside hotel updated with the hippest modern touches like bikes for loan for the beach, an outside fireplace and courtyard, craft beer and ultra-clean, modern rooms. It's right off the beach, quaint and incredibly tasteful. We've been here twice and frankly the owners are some of the best business people around. They treated us well, communicate exceptionally and are truly locals with great local advice. If you're looking for the perfect beach getaway in a great neighborhood with a truly unique vibe I'd tell you this is the place for you. There's no doubt there are more upscale, larger or more well-known hotels for your stay. I sincerely doubt you'll find a better all-around experience if you want to find real Florida and enjoy the best the beach has to offer.

Valerie U.

Yelp
Best hotel experience by far! I just moved to Jacksonville and have been staying at a variety of places to get a feel for the different areas. Hotel Palms has been my best experience, not just in Florida.. but I can honestly say in all of my travels (and I travel for work!!). I actually extended my stay because I didn't want to leave! The room is trendy and clean. The whole vibe of the hotel is laid back, welcoming, and friendly. It's obvious that the owners and the staff really care about what they're doing, because it's palpable in the service. I highly recommend walking or riding a bike (they even provide bikes!) over to the beach to Southern Grounds and many of the other restaurants and shops nearby. This hotel is such a hidden gem, and I look forward to returning (even as a local)!!

Hannah W.

Yelp
Our first time staying at a boutique hotel was such a fun experience! The location is perfect and the aesthetic is so cool! The walls are kinda thin, the shower was scalding and their mask policy was too lax for our comfort but overall we loved our time here .

Sean M.

Yelp
This is my 4th stay at hotel palms this year. By far the best option. Only one block from the beach... closet to all restaurants, stores, coffee, etc.

Kristina R.

Yelp
It's a darling hotel with clean rooms and a great location. A couple of negatives: the people in the courtyard enjoying the fire pit were very loud even after repeated requests (after 11pm) to quiet down. No ice available when I checked in and I couldn't find a wi-fi code. No manager was available or on duty. The room is nice, very industrial which is fine but the bed is incredibly squeaky. I love the renovation they've done on this mid-century motel I just wish it had been a better experience.

Victoria M.

Yelp
This little gem is an amazing place to stay. I thought about giving 4 stars since there is no pool but we knew that when we booked haha. The little courtyard is so fun to hang out in. The rooms are redone absolutely adorable. The office staff are fantastic. Will stay here again. If you ever watched Melrose Place in the 80's this has that vibe. Since there are only a small amount of rooms the guests all chat with each other. Bars and restaurants within walking distance. Very cool Hotel Palms!

Arnel E.

Yelp
Had a unbelievable experience at this hotel. The vibes were truly unmatched, it didn't even feel like I was at a hotel because of how cozy and retro it felt from the moment you walk into the outside area to the inside of the room. Everything was nice, clean and very welcoming, the staff was awesome too. This was honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had at a hotel and I can't wait to go back.

Apryl C.

Yelp
This hotel has been completely renovated into a 50's themed hotel. I loved all the decor and the manager and owners are wonderful. It's just a short walk to the beach and to all the great places to eat. They do offer a continental breakfast, but due to food laws, only have fresh fruit and prepackaged breakfast items like muffins, bagels, and yogurt along with coffee and juice, which are still a nice option. There is also a great little private courtyard with seating, a fountain and a fire pit. This is a great place to explore the area from.

Krista B.

Yelp
Great little motel with a wonderful vibe. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Outdoor courtyard was nice placed to lounge, and it's the perfect location walking distance to restaurants and the beach.

Laura S.

Yelp
As advertised, this place is definitely "one-of-a-kind"! Each room is decorated according to a theme -- the room I stayed in was focused on jazz. Very 50's. The courtyard is beautiful and probably my favorite thing about this hotel; however, I was disappointed with how far it is to the beach... definitely NOT a 2-block walk as purported on the website. Internet was spotty, at best. If you're looking for a unique, non-chain lodging experience, this is the place for you! If you prefer something a little more "standard," try one of the hotels at Jacksonville Beach.

Elizabeth G.

Yelp
This place is great! Went for anniversary, greeted by owner and staff and had a complimentary drink in the lounge. The rooms were clean and beautifully designed. All the staff was amazing. They had great local recommendations. They really focused on highlighting the local/ small business options! They have bikes available as well!

Tom D.

Yelp
So impressed. Like a hidden gem tucked away at the beach. Walking distance to the beach and great restaurants. Staff was fantastic. Definitely coming back!!

Barbara B.

Yelp
This place was so cute, once I got inside! Hope their renovations are getting done, since pulling up at night was a little Bates Motel-ish..but once inside the gates, too cute and the rooms were well appointed and had lots if amenities. The owner was very helpful about the town and places to eat.. I would go back there!

Adriana P.

Yelp
Wonderful Experience. We come to the Beaches Town Center area quite a bit (about 10 times a year) from South Georgia and normally stay at a larger beachfront hotel. I had seen on the internet that the Hotel Palms had been remodeled so we walked by on our last visit to take a peak. We saw the beautifully landscaped courtyard and fell in love. We decided to stay here this visit. I am so glad I found this gem. We will be staying here on our future visits. The rooms are super clean, updated, and beautifully decorated. The beds are comfortable. The location is perfect to enjoy all Beaches Town Center has to offer along with the hotel being an easy walk to the beach (2 short blocks). The courtyard is fabulous. The owners are super friendly and accommodating. The pride and love they have for their hotel shows in the attention they have paid to even the smallest detail.

Mike C.

Yelp
Wonderful plave. Friendly people.Free parking. No pushy sales people bugging you. Cheaper and more modern than the mega hotel near by. Hotels at Alantic are severely lacking but this is a little gem.

Holly G.

Yelp
What a wonderful concept and fun place to stay in Atlantic Beach! What a hidden peace of paradise

Anne J.

Yelp
A wonderful place!! So friendly and cozy. You're missing an experience if you don't stay there! Locals get a discount. I love this place!

Marcus N.

Yelp
Greg who owns this was super nice and so are the people who work here. All were super friendly. The location is awesome! It's a short walk to the beach and some awesome restaurants and they offer bikes to ride around town!

Dannia W.

Yelp
Loved the Retro feel of this quaint hotel. Please do not be off put by its deceiving exterior !! So clean and cool on the inside!

Rob S.

Yelp
Here's why you'll LOVE this place - Wes and Cindy own and run it. They are so nice and generous with their time that when you talk to them you feel as though nothing is more important to them but you at that moment. As for the overall experience I can only express it in this way; it's like that movie you can watch over and over yet it never gets old. If I'm in Jacksonville again, I'll stay at the Palms Retro and hang out with Wes and Cindy.

David S.

Yelp
As advertised, The Palms Retro is a unique one-of-a-kind place, creatively decorated. We had booked another room, but asked if The Divas was available, and they put is in there at no extra charge. The building is circa 1947 but it has been thoroughly renovated. And the location is perfect with a short walk to the beach and dozens of restaurants within a very short walk.

Morgan Y.

Yelp
Such a beautiful and eclectic place! Great customer service and the rooms are very nice. Super short walk from tons of great Restaurants and the beach! Warm and cozy atmosphere and perfect for a little get away! They have free bikes you can take all over and a beautiful courtyard to hangout in! Will be returning for sure!

Michael B.

Yelp
For the $ (less $100/nite) and 2 blocks from the beach, this place was great! Clean rooms, very helpful staff/owners and free parking! Lot's of nice places to eat within a short walking distance! Fast WiFi as well!

Lainey M.

Yelp
We loved staying here. A cute little hotel. We walked to the beach, bars and dinner, all a short three blocks away. The court yard has a quaint sitting area and pretty fountain. The continental breakfast was more than expected. The room had a great mini fridge, comfortable bed and was very clean. This was a great value and we will for sure return!

Kendra R.

Yelp
This is a sweet little motel and was a perfect place for our one night stop in Jacksonville. It's got a great location as it's only 3 blocks from the beach and you walk through the Towns Center to get there! The owners are very nice and accommodating and did a great job decorating the rooms. I loved the continental breakfast room! I only gave it 4 stars because our room didn't have a bath tub, but the showerhead was very entertaining ;-) This is a nice place to stay for a night.

Cody A.

Yelp
This is a place that from the outside looks like a dive. You walk into your room though and are blown away. I loved every part of this hotel! It was the coolest little place. I stayed in the Elvis room and loved the old vibes of everything! The courtyard in the middle of everything was very nice as well. You just sit out there and have a good time. I will definitely be back to stay here. The owner or manager of the place is very nice as well.

Cindy H.

Yelp
What a wonderful, quaint spot! We stayed in the Rat Pack Room. It was spacious, clean, and fun; even had Rat Pack CD's to enjoy! We rented their bikes and were on the beach in minutes. We will always go here when visiting Jacksonville. Awesome concept and remake of a 1950's motor lodge.

Kristi G.

Yelp
Would definitely stay here again. Close enough to the beach to ride a bike there and around the quaint little town of Atlantic Beach. Only stayed one night for business, but would have enjoyed a weekend here and in this town. The exterior of the hotel makes you question your reservation initially, but I encourage you to go on in to the courtyard, meet the owners of this family run business, and then enjoy your retro, very clean hotel room. Loved the nostalgia and my stay!
