My recent stay at Papillon was highly disappointing. Despite being advertised as a 2-3 star hotel, the experience felt more like a 1-star guest house. The bed was broken and noisy, making it impossible to sleep. The shower box was in disrepair with fungi growth around it. The towels provided were old and discolored. Additionally, there was an unexpected issue with the air conditioning. While my booking mentioned that air conditioning was included, I was charged 8 euros per night for it during checkout. This charge was not communicated clearly in the reservation or policy section. Overall, my experience was far from satisfactory. I hope these issues are addressed for the benefit of future guests.

After I read the reviews about bed bugs I was really worried, but no there are no bed bugs! The beds are comfortable and we had a great sleep. I don’t complain. Breakfast was ok too. We had everything we need. The rooms are not very big, but all was good! The staff is very friendly! If you are coming with the car in front of the hotel you can park maximum stay 3 hours from 8.30 in the morning til 20.00 o’clock in the evening!

Nice hotel in a nice location. Seems remote but it's close to the Margaret island and you have loads of tramway and bus stations. The rooms were clean even tho, in other 3-star locations, the furniture and bathroom looked more modern. The personnel were very polite, friendly and willing to help with everything. The restaurant is decent but it looks old. I recommend this hotel if you're looking for a remote, quite, and decently priced location.

Hotel Papillon was located on the Buda side with approx. ten minutes walk to the nearest public transport. There are a few restaurants near the hotel. The guest room was simple but functionally decorated and was very clean. The room had both air conditioning and a refrigerator. The bathroom was a good size and was clean and in good condition. The hotel had its own garden with pool and sunbeds, which was very lovely. The hotel staff was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was served as a buffet and had a decent selection of both hot and cold dishes. Do not expect luxury, but the hotel provided good value for money.

Good price/service ratio. Good location. They even have a small pool in the backyard, which was a blessing for our kids after 37C hot day in the city. The only thing for improvement is breakfast coffee.

Bad hotel. Neglected, unhygienic, and poor. The lobby smells strongly of rancid cooking fat, and has cards for Escorts and Erotic massage ! Bathroom smelled of sewage. Broken toilet seat and light bulbs. Walls are so thin you hear people in several rooms going to the toilet...so sleep quality is terrible. Breakfast is best avoided.... Food in the restaurant is awful, expensive, garbage. An absolute disgrace. Many guests were at the hotel for complex dental work such as dental implants etc, so in effect they became prisoners of the hotel. Once booked in it is quite an ordeal to unpack, move hotel etc. especially if you have the stress and anxiety of dental appointments booked in, so the hotel staff behave like opportunists and take advantage of the guests. They expect large tips for poor service, then add a city tax to the cost of the accomodation. I would not recommend this hotel. It needs to be visited by environmental health officers. There are many fake reviews.

Efficient, friendly and very accommodating staff. Secure storage for a limited number of bicycles. Clean rooms with cold AC and a nice little courtyard with small pool was very welcome! Close to the tramlines into the city too!

The location is good because it is near the center, the heating in the rooms does not work in the middle of winter (December), the bed linen is dirty, the towels are dirty and the bathroom smells like sewage. At breakfast time, there is almost nothing to eat except ready-made juice and coffee from the machine. All in all, pretty bad.
