We stayed at Hotel Paradis Paris over Christmas, and unfortunately it was a very negative experience from beginning to end. Our first room was on the ground floor (101). It had no real window, the bathroom smelled terrible, and the overall cleanliness was awful. Because the room was directly next to the breakfast area, we could smell breakfast starting around 6:00 a.m., which was extremely unpleasant. The walls were very thin and everything was incredibly noisy. After a horrible first night we asked to change rooms.
We received a complimentary upgrade to a room on the 4th floor (405). While the bathroom no longer smelled and we finally had a window facing the courtyard, the situation was still far from acceptable. The glasses were filthy — you could literally taste dust when drinking water — and again the cleanliness in general was poor. The room was very noisy and badly soundproofed, the furniture was worn, and the carpet was honestly disgusting.
What makes this even more confusing is that the reception area and lobby restroom give a completely different impression: modern and very clean. Sadly, the rooms do not match that standard at all.
The only positive aspect of our stay was the friendly staff, who really tried their best. Apart from that, this hotel is absolutely not worth it. It is not a paradise – it feels more like a run-down hostel. Save yourself the stress and stay away.
