This is a lovely historic hotel and as such, there is a narrow winding staircase to the rooms that may not suit some with mobility issues or large suitcases. Also with older hotels, bathroom is very small. Beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable and quiet. Friendly, hard working staff and great breakfast. The city centre is about a 15 minute walk away.

Small hotel with charm and character in excellent location close the the Grieg Center. We stayed in Room No.21 which was very warm, the temperature could not be controlled effectively. Breakfast was delightful, but the space is limited and long queue can be formed in the busy mornings.

Clean, charming, easy to walk from this location, nice breakfast, cozy. Less amenities than you’d find in a large hotel but quiet, relaxing and more authentic. Like many European hotels, the bed is two twins pushed together, each with its own duvet.

greetings,||I recently stayed at the park hotel in Bergen for a three night stay in may 2025.||The hotel is composed of two buildings (across the street from each other).||The 'main' building is the white building that you see on all pictures, our room was in the green building across the street - not an issue at all.||The white building is where the breakfast room is located as well as the front desk.||We had a corner room on the first floor which was great with large windows on both walls. The room was immaculate and the bed very comfy.||The room had a nice desk, mini fridge, couch and seats around a coffee table and we had a TV in the room (we didn't use it).||The bathroom is minimalist - as everywhere in Scandinavia - but totally clean and functional.||Your room key allows you to open front doors to both buildings (and your room obviously).||The breakfast was included with the room rate. The breakfast room (in the white building) is nicely decorated with art work but a bit small and cramped (people lining up to pick up food) - which is normal in a way as everyone shows up around the same time - if you want to avoid the rush hour, go early ~ 6h30. ||The breakfast buffet was very nice with plenty of home made products and healthy stuff.||This is a small family run hotel and it is very beautifully decorated, the staff is very nice and helpful.||Please note that there was no A/C in the room - i don't know if this can be an issue during the summer months.||Both large windows can be opened to provide some fresh air in the room - only caveat is it can get noisy in the evening or during the night - you are close by the university campus - so before you go to bed close the windows to avoid the occasional noise nuisance in the middle of the night. (we didn't do this on our first night and we were woken up in the middle of the night by some people walking on the street coming back from bars and being a bit 'loud'.)||The hotel is pricey (but you are in Bergen .. no bargains there) but worth it.||It's located in a very nice neighbourhood, rather quiet compared to the main sites in the old town so if you close the windows, you will get good sleep quality.||Even if the hotel is outside the main area - old town - this is not an issue, as the main sites (old town, bryggen, funicular, forteress, kode museums) are all reachable by walk. (15 to 30 minutes) at most. ||If you come and go to the airport using the tramway - i suggest you use the nonnester stop - then you just have to walk up the hill on stromgaten street and you get directly to the hotel. (uphill from the tram stop to the hotel).||using the 'closest' recommended stop - nygard can get very confusing to get to the hotel when you arrive because you walk partly through the university campus to get to the hotel (despite google maps - trust me it gets confusing and you have to haul luggage thru stairs, etc..).||Bergen is a great city to visit - compact and enjoyable, lots of small streets to explore - just be prepared to walk a lot and it is quite hilly (surprisingly) but very nice - recommended.||Enjoy

Great small hotel in Bergen in a very good location. We stayed for 3 nights and had a very nice, large room on the 4th floor with sky lights and a sofa. Bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. No air conditioning but very comfortable with open windows (it was unseasonably warm during our stay). My only complaint was that the shower was very narrow. Breakfast buffet was extensive - love the homemade granola! Staff were extremely nice and helpful. And the homemade brownies in the evening were a lovely surprise. The location was away from the crowded center, very quiet and nice, but within walking distance of everything. We didn’t have any problem, but people with mobility issues may have some trouble here since you have to walk up the hill to get to the hotel and there is no elevator in the hotel. Overall, a wonderful place to stay in Bergen.

Charming hotel in a great location, far enough away from the Center to feel residential but close enough to walk to everything. We arrived after 24 hours of travel and were allowed to check in to one of our 2 rooms while the other was still being cleaned. Front staff was friendly and gave us a good recommendation for lunch. The breakfast was smaller in scope than other Norwegian hotels but we found the quality to be superior. Definitely recommend this hotel.

It’s a cosy petit hotel like an B&B. You need to climb up the hill, there’s no elevator so you might have to carry your suit case up all the way to the forth floor. No air conditioner, small room, yet the stay was very heartwarming, staff was great, the food was neatly made. We had a nice view. Coffee and tea are accessible throughout your stay. Near from the train station. I liked the way how they decorated the lounge with candle.

Yelp
A lovely little Historic European hotel situated at the top of a steep incline (the hotel website warns you of this situation). I stayed here briefly because of a long layover on an intended trip elsewhere. It was worth the money. The room although small was comfortable, sunny (which made it a bit warm), and quiet. They do warn you about the thin walls (they're circa 1890) and provide free earplugs. The bathroom was clean and sparse. Only a hair dryer, soap, and shampoo are provided. If you go downstairs there is a kitchen that serves breakfast from 6:30-10. They also serve coffee and tea and have plentiful brownies which are accompanied by a recipe for you to take home. Unfortunately I wasn't able to enjoy this breakfast but instead they provided a catered meal for me at the absurd time I was to get up and go down to the bus stop to take the flybussen to the airport. The real tourist areas including the fish market and the funicular are only a 20 minute stroll away through the lush green streets of Bergen. I'd stay here again.
