Hotel has a great history and has many charming features. However, it is almost certainly trading off its historic reputation. Its website is somewhat misleading - the history is true, but it leaves one with a false impression of today’s circumstances. Whilst it has period features and furniture, it has many impracticalities such as the positioning of electrical plugs - even the provided coffee machine does not plug in anywhere near where it is positioned, though the WiFi is excellent. Wardrobe space even in the largest room is very limited and there are almost no hangers provided. |It’s operating with the owner remote from the business premises and is staffed from 4pm check in until 8pm by a highly competent High School student. However, it’s not a hotel in the normal sense of things, except in its price levels. Sadly, I would not recommend.

This is the place to stay on the Acadien Coast if you want to understand its history snd people. The artifacts and walls in this upscale b&b tell a fascinating story; its host can fill in all of the colour and more. ||We felt like royalty in the finely-appointed where Governeurs General have visited.

This is a beautiful hotel. Very authentic 1891 theme. Wish there was a continental breakfasts. Should have more pictures of that era. All in all it’s a very nice place to stay at. Close to all the amenities around. Great location.

We enjoyed our night at the Hotel. It was very quiet and comfortable. Don't be put off by the outside, which could use a coat of paint. The inside was quaint, and our room was quite luxurious. |We enjoyed meeting Jules, the 4th generation of the family that owns it.|We stayed at the Hotel Paulin 40 years ago on our honeymoon. We had good memories and it didn't disappoint.

Very quaint; lovely room and bathroom with beautiful antique furniture.|They really should get small Kureig machines for each room and a large one for the dining room. Another time, we would have breakfast down the street.|Otherwise it is a beautiful home.

Such a lovely, lovely place! We very much enjoyed the quaint family friendly atmosphere and hospitality. As soon as you walk in the front door, it's like going on an adventure back in time, with such a rich history surrounding the venue. As a bonus, the walk along the beach there around sunset is absolutely stunning! Special thanks to Karen for the good conversation and breakfast baskets. Can't wait to visit the heart of Acadia again in the future!

My wife and I stayed (and had dinner) at the Hotel Paulin on 6/27/2019. We just can't say enough about our stay and our experience there. We specifically booked a room on the 3rd Floor for the ocean view and were delighted by the old world decor and charm. Everything was perfect! Our dinner (and breakfast the following morning) in the onsite dining room was outstanding as well. Karen (chef and co-owner) prepared our whole lobsters perfectly and the wine and dessert were top notch too! As important as our accommodations and our food was the absolute genuine interaction we had with Gerard (3rd generation co-owner) and his wife Karen. We truly appreciated them answering our questions and showing pictures of the history of the hotel, how it was physically re-located to its current location (from where it was originally built in the 1890's) as well as info on the decorations and furniture. We were even treated to their plans for the future of the hotel! When we visit again, we'll be sure to stay longer and enjoy this great hotel and wonderful family! Note: In response to Mr. Saumur's negative review complaining about the hotel not allowing four people to pack into a boutique room with two double beds, I applaud Gerard for his decision to say "No"! The Hotel Paulin is an upscale facility with Old World charm. If you are looking for a flop house with an "all you can eat" mentality, there's a budget hotel just down the road!

Yelp
This is a great old building just off of the highway. I has a great view over the bay towards Quebec - a great place to end a day of driving with a glass of wine. There is a trail down to the beach for those who still have enough energy left to explore. The building and rooms have a lot of old time class with high ceilings, nice furniture and decorations. The rooms are also classically small - but there are lots of public areas to hang out for those that need space. The operators are great. We booked the evening meal and became engaged in planning the menu - all fish!! They cooked up and served an high class meal with oysters, clams, smoked salmon and frico (an Acadian fish soup). It was a great evening and night.
