We loved our stay in the Hutton Room. The tiling around the entrance and the stained-glass windows in the rooms are very stylish. Most of the furniture is antique and all of the art work is original. The breakfast is good and the dinner restaurant is amazing - Italian with handmade pasta. The hotel is central to all the fun parts of Georgetown. The whole area is rustic but that is all a part of the world heritage charm 🏯

The elegant room comes with a balcony and antique furniture. The bed in our room is on the attic. When we wake up in the morning, we can see the sunlight shining in through the stained glass. Very good price with a simple gym and breakfast.

Beautiful old colonial style rooms with big beds and wooden floorboards pads. Wonderful bathroom with a jacuzzi bath to relax after a day of walking. Location is absolutely fantastic and breakfast pleasant and to suit all palates. Will definitely recommend and stay agin!

Good central location meant we walked everywhere and explored much of the immediate area. We enjoyed the classic and unique character of the place, and this would have been excellent when it first opened. We had two bedrooms, kitchen and living space (plus outdoor courtyard) so there was lots of space to spread out. The kids enjoyed their own space. However, feels like maintenance has not been kept up so aspects of rooms feel somewhat “tired”. Few things broken. No deal breakers but something to be aware of. If you are looking for somewhere to stay that has some old world charm then this should work for you. If looking for resort style or modern hotel then consider elsewhere.

First of all, let's get this out of the way - there is no pool, despite there being photos of one on this listing. The pool is still there, but it's now full of plants and fish. You're not going to get a swim.||As I understand it, this place closed down during COVID. Malaysia, like many places, struggled in those years and plenty places closed down and did not return.||In this case, the hotel could do with some TLC, but do not let that put you off. It's still decent value for what you are paying.|Our room was down the street in one of the converted shops. I say room; it was more of an apartment. Very old-fashioned but it was nice enough. There was a small kitchen with a fridge and water dispenser downstairs. Upstairs were two rooms, both with air-conditioning and fans. One of the air-conditioning units did decide to dump water everywhere in the middle of the first night though, which wasn't ideal.|There's a small courtyard out the back with a hot tub. Well, not that hot as the hot water ran out quickly. It was fun though and the kids enjoyed it. ||Breakfast was nothing to write home about. It was passable but that's about it.||It's worth a stay here, certainly for the price and location, which is slightly away from the tourist sights but still walkable and remarkably quiet. I don't think I'd want to stay longer than the two nights we were there for though. If it weren't for the character of the place I'd rate it less.

Giant rooms with quaint colonial architecture. Updated details but kept the historic Georgetown vibe. Wonderful service and staff. The breakfast and restaurant were a huge plus, the food was delicious and many options. Really surprised us how delicious the restaurant was. I had to do a long distance video call during my stay and the wifi was 10/10 so no stress there, which was a huge relief. The spa treatment we did was very relaxing and the staff was accommodating and knowledgeable. Walkable and close to the art walk and night markets.

Back here for the second time, we stayed 3 nights and loved every bit of it. The heritage boutique vibes? Love it . Cozy, charming, and just so aesthetic. Breakfast was simple but hit the spot. The location also very strategic. Close to almost every tourist and foodie destination in Georgetown.

We had a taste of Italy.|The boutique hotel allows the old and new to blend in well

Yelp
A classic Penang experience in a location that can't be beat. The hotel comprises of large hotel rooms and spaces in keeping with Penang architecture. Stylishing appointed, the furnishings tastefully mix an era gone by with modern comforts and design. Hospitible touches such as afternoon tea and wine hour greatly add to the customer experience. A wonderful stay that enhanced my taste of Georgetown and all it has to offer.

Yelp
Rooms are filled with old Chinese furniture and decor, but bathroom is super modern with jacuzzi and multiple headed shower. Great Breakfast assortment of Malay favorites and Western food. Staff super helpful and friendly. Only downside is that it's a bit of a walk from old town on a hot day, 2km. Grabcar to there is only 2-4rm, and there is a free 11am shuttle to Armenian St. Highly recommend.
