The rooms were cleanish however there was blood on a pillow in the wardrobe and we came across lots of cockroaches in our room. The breakfast wasnt the best but it’s good for it being included in the price. We really enjoyed they air conditioning as it was so hot and the hotel is in a good location very close to many things easy to walk to

Although we did not stay here, we asked for directions and some tips for finding a Flamenco Show. The staff was absolutely so kind, so patient and professional. We would consider staying here on our next trip just because the concierge was so kind to us. He truly embodies what Hospitality is. A big thank you to Hotel Peninsula for your kindness to strangers.

Anyone who gives this hotel a bad review didn’t read the previous reviews. You literally get what you pay for: a very basic room, no facilities and a comically (but free) breakfast. However, it is extremely clean and the staff is super friendly. There is airco in the rooms. I loved staying there and I would definitely return or recommend it to friends. The location is a 10/10 as well. If you want to stay in central Barcelona without breaking the bank: this is the hotel for you.

I absolutely loved this hotel. It’s got charm. The front desk Stephanie and owner Alex are fantastic! The rooms are Simple. We booked last minute with two twin beds. There is air conditioning. It’s just simple and sweet. Location is one block from La Rambas. This hotel has a atrium full of live plants hanging down from the balconies. Some of the rooms are shared baths. There are antique glass floors, Art Nouveau. They offer a free breakfast as well. If you love history, this is your place. I can’t say enough about it. Even if you do not stay, walk inside to check out the beautiful unique interior. I’ll be back! Thanks Stephanie & Alex for the tour and 3 wonderful days! God Bless!

i stayed with my school and We had to move rooms half way through our trip due to the amount of cockroaches we found in our room, the breakfast is also really disappointing only serving bread, egg, some meat and small crossaints. in our second room our bathroom door didn’t shut and we had to use a water bottle to try and hold it shut to give us some privacy and even after telling reception they didn’t do anything about it. one of our bed frames broke and fell foreword luckly we weren’t in bed yet or else that would have been a disaster. We had holes and cracks in the floor and walls which is how i’m guessing all the cockroaches got in. there was also a lot of noise at night as people were going in and out of the hotel. very spooky and wouldn’t recomend.

The rooms are fairly clean, however I was staying on the 2nd floor and we found 5 cockroaches in our room, one dead rest alive, which wasn’t nice at all. Staff are mostly friendly and breakfast is nice, however our bathroom door didn’t close. We asked the staff to fix it ans they said they would but never did, we stayed there for 5 days, would only recommend for one night.

This is an abysmal hostel type hotel only suitable for school parties not regular hotel guests. The noise is shocking and the rooms are incredibly basic. Forget any notion of being comfortable in bed or making yourself a cup of tea or any other pleasant thing you would expect to be able to do in a normal hotel room. DO NOT BOOK HERE.

I only stayed at this hotel for 3 nights and they were the worst 3 nights of my life. I arrived at the hotel around 11 and because the hotel was apparently full their was no room available for us to stay in, the lady at the reception told us to come back at 2 o'clock and that a room would be free for us then. As my friends and I roamed the streets for a few hours with hand luggage and suitcases we came back to the hotel where we finally got a room. The room wasn't too bad apart from the fact the pillows were literally as thin as a piece of paper and the blankets were hideous and extremely difficult to look at. We got a tiny balcony which looked like it was hanging on for its dear life and our bathroom wasn't too bad apart from the fact we had a vent above to toilet with a bin bag with strips of tape holding it together, which we would soon realise why the bin bag was there to begin with. As my friends and I spent most of our trip in Barcelona mostly outdoors exploring the food and the culture, i guess the worst part of our day was coming back to the hotel. The courtyard was extremely small and it had a foul smell, the floors were extremely dirty and there were leaves and plant pots everywhere. The staff would water the plants it would leak everywhere making the floors, chairs and our hair wet. May i add the roof looks like the top of a greenhouse and that they're not lifts so u would walk thousands of stairs with a suitcase. And don't even get me started on the breakfast selection. Day 2- Normally whenever I go on holiday i eat a sandwich for breakfast to keep me partially full until lunch or my next meal/snack. As I made my sandwich cutting the bread was like a game of tug-of-war I was fighting for my dear life just to cut the bread in half. And when i took a bite I could've sworn i almost lost a tooth in the process due to how hard the bread was. I'm sure this tasted WORST than prison food, and thank God i only had breakfast at the hotel because if breakfast is that bad i wonder how bad lunch and dinner were. On day 3 i noticed rashes all over my legs, i asked my friends if they had noticed the same and it turns out our bed had bed bugs. I wish this was it but it only gets worse. Our power cut out 2 times in the 4 days we spent in Barcelona to the point the lady at the reception taught us how to turn on the power like this was a regular complaint at the hotel. On our final night as me and the girls packed our suitcases and hand luggage as our flight was at 18:35 the next day us 4 girls excluding me in ONE ROOM may i add; that some of us would shower in the night and the rest in the morning. As i mentioned earlier there was a vent with a bin bag barely attached with 2 strips of tape above the toilet. I wish i could make this up but as my friend opened the door to get ready for a shower, a cockroach fell from the vent and started running around the bathroom my friend screamed like she saw a dead body and held tightly unto her towel as she jumped back unto the bed. She began to cry excessively as i was confused on what was even happening she claimed it was behind the toilet but the only thing I could see was a reed diffuser with brown liquid that I guess could somewhat look like a cockroach? However as the toilet door was open for more than 10 minutes as we argued over the fact that there was nothing there and that we should be disturbing the ladies next door that already didn't like us because we were loud and my friend was obviously screaming. My friend "J" refused to go and shower until we found the cockroach and killed it. As i told her to do what suits her and continue to pack my suitcase she saw the cockroach once more as it escaped from the bathroom and was now underneath the desk and in our room. It started to go around our room until we got a member in public to get it out. I guess the highlight of our trip was leaving the hotel as it was located in a sketchy alleyway and looked like a prison from the outside. You can barely hear what goes on in other rooms and I wouldn't recommend this ISN'T child-friendly.

Yelp
A charming hotel with great staff and a beautiful common area. The rooms are very modest, but very clean -- you couldn't ask for more given the friendly price and amazing location, steps way from mercado de la boqueria + tons of vegan restaurants and bakeries

Yelp
Beautiful, charming hotel - recommended ! This is one of those places that really makes you feel like you've chosen the right hotel to stay for your weekend. It's calm, spacious and its interior patio with hanging plants gives it a fantastic charm. Our son (20 months) loved running around the patio in the morning. Add to this the friendly reception and it adds up to a wonderful experience. Any drawbacks ? Maybe the fact that there were no baby bed, and that the hot water in the shower had some interruptions.
