The Peninsular Hotel is located in La Rambla, Barcelona, just a stone's throw from Liceu. I booked a room for 2 people with 2 beds for 4 nights. My room was square with a bathroom in one corner. One of the beds was placed right in front of the bathroom door with a very narrow distance and the other bed was placed under the clothes hanger 😂 I personally didn't mind the size of the room, it was just the layout of the room which was very unique. What was really annoying was that there was no lighting in this room, only a dim night light above the headboard, I don't know how many watts the lamp was, in fact I couldn't see anything even though the light was on. Not only inside the room, outside the room was even darker, to reach my room, I had to turn on the flashlight from my cell phone. If you stay here it's a good idea to bring your own toiletries, during my 4 night stay I only got 3 very small bars of soap and a towel, floormats are only available on the first day, the rest you have to ask for with a very high level of patience. The only plus point for this hotel is that it provides breakfast which is quite filling, and only for eating on the spot, there is no simple breakfast provided for take away if you are catching an early morning flight
The price you pay at this hotel is very high, not worth what you get. It's best to check out several hotels located on the same street, which are very close by; they offer much lower prices with much better room conditions.
