Hotel Pension Steiner - A Disappointing Stay with a Few Highlights I typically avoid writing negative reviews, but my experience at Hotel Pension Steiner left much to be desired. While the hotel has potential, several issues made my stay less enjoyable. Firstly, the air conditioning in my room was not functioning, which made it uncomfortable, especially during the warmer parts of the day. The bed linens, though clean, lacked the softness and freshness one expects, likely due to the absence of fabric softener. The bathroom setup was particularly inconvenient, as the bathtub only had a hand shower, making it almost impossible to shower without water splashing everywhere. That said, the breakfast was a redeeming aspect. It was sumptuous, with a variety of fresh and delicious options that truly stood out. The staff were polite, and the location is convenient, but unfortunately, these positives couldn’t compensate for the shortcomings in basic amenities. With some improvements, Hotel Pension Steiner could offer a much better experience. For now, I would only recommend it if you’re willing to overlook these issues.

Not a good start to find our room selection configuration was unavailable however magically a suitable room became available. We could not get the tv to work both times we stayed there. Room 4 had a noisy fridge but room 3's was quiet. They put on a good breakfast. These rooms are in need of refurbishment so I would rate them a 2 star at best.

During our stay in Windhoek, we chose Hotel Pension Steiner for its central location and reasonable rates, and it proved to be a convenient and comfortable choice for exploring Namibia’s capital. It’s a simple yet charming option for travelers looking for a cozy stay with a personal touch.||Location:|The location of Hotel Pension Steiner is fantastic for anyone wanting to explore Windhoek. It’s situated in the city center, just a short walk from Independence Avenue, which is home to many shops, restaurants, and key landmarks like Christuskirche and the National Museum. For those relying on public transport or taxis, everything is within easy reach, and the area feels safe and accessible for walking.||Accommodation:|The rooms at Pension Steiner are basic but comfortable. My room had everything I needed for a short stay, including air conditioning, a TV, and free Wi-Fi. Everything was clean and functional. The bed was comfortable, and the bathroom, had hot water and was well-maintained. If you’re not looking for luxury but rather a clean, quiet place to rest after a day of sightseeing, this place fits the bill.||Service:|The service at Hotel Pension Steiner was excellent. The staff were friendly, helpful, and always available to assist with questions or requests. They provided me with recommendations for local restaurants and attractions. Their warmth made the stay more enjoyable, and you can tell they take pride in their guesthouse.||Amenities:|Hotel Pension Steiner offers a nice selection of amenities for a small guesthouse. The outdoor swimming pool and garden are perfect for relaxing after a day of exploring, and the garden area provides a peaceful oasis in the middle of the city. The breakfast offered was basic but satisfying, with options like cereals, fresh fruit, and toast. There is also secure parking available on-site, which is great for peace of mind if you’re driving.||Atmosphere:|The guesthouse has a relaxed, homely atmosphere, which makes it a pleasant place to return to after exploring Windhoek. The communal spaces, especially the pool and garden, add to the overall experience, providing areas to unwind. It’s a calm and welcoming space, more intimate than a large hotel, with a personal touch that larger establishments often lack.||Price:|In terms of value for money, Hotel Pension Steiner is a solid choice. The rates are affordable, especially given the central location and the amenities provided. It’s ideal for budget travelers, solo adventurers, or anyone looking for a no-frills stay that still offers comfort and convenience.||Conclusion:|Hotel Pension Steiner may not be the most luxurious option in Windhoek, but it offers excellent value for those seeking an affordable, central, and comfortable place to stay. With its friendly service, prime location, and peaceful atmosphere, it’s a great choice for travelers looking to experience Windhoek without breaking the bank. I’d recommend it for anyone visiting the city, particularly for a short stay or as a convenient stopover before heading to other parts of Namibia.||Suggestion(s):|1. Need to improve wifi facilities.

Friendly and accommodating, good breakfast. The price reflects what you get, we used it as a stop over and it had everything we needed.

We stayed here at the beginning (and end) of our epic three week safari across Namibia and Botswana in 2006. A perfect place to launch an adventure, as well as a comfortable place to stay all around. It has a very charming courtyard with so many birds to enjoy and photograph, including active weaver birds nest. Food was good, beds were comfortable. Great location for access to backie rentals, airport, etc.

Unfortunately there was miff on gbe ceiling and on tbe tiles in ghe bathroom. The water was running nonstop at the handbasin and could not be turned off on the wall. Very disappointing. The breakfast was great and the security staff and breakfast lady were superfriendly. The reception guy was running back and forth between two hotels. Overall it is not very well maintained and understaffed.

Very run-down and in a quite noisy neighbourhood. This place used to be run by a German couple now it is owned by a Chinese company. The facilities are not well taken care of. Even in the reception area it is not very clean and organized. The staff was friendly but the rooms are really old. The tab was not closing and water was running all night. We had to shut the main off to not waste water. We found silver fish and moths in the room. The outside area was dirty and not well maintained and the pool looked like you don’t want to swim in it. This place is definitely not recommendable.

This hotel I situated in the city center and a perfect last or first stop in Windhoek when you travel in or out of Namibia, pnly 30-40 minutes drive from the international Airport. They have free Wi-Fi and secure parking. It is also possible to get a late check out if you have a late flight. The service at the reception is very helpful. Special thanks to Naftal, helpful with reservations and booking är restaurants and shuttle.
