We stayed here for five days to enjoy the beach and as a central location for exploring the island. Our room was spacious and the balcony area had a view of the pool and beach. There was also plenty of parking, which was a plus. There is no elevator (so be aware if you have mobility issues) but the hotel is easy to navigate. Check in was quick and easy and our room was ready when we arrived. Breakfast was an additional charge but the food options were plentiful, of excellent quality and refilled frequently. The pool area was clean and had comfortable loungers. We often spent the day at the beach across the street and there were plenty of blue lounge chairs available with umbrellas (free for guests) and also an area to the left with plush loungers and a beach bar that was 30€ for two loungers. The on-site restaurant, Francesco’s, proved to be a wonderful spot for dinner. The servers were excellent and so was the food. The bar in the reception area was also a nice spot to have a drink and watch the sunset. All in all, this was a lovely place to spend time relaxing and a good spot to base yourself to explore the island.

We have been visiting Andros from the UK for 25 years and one of the highlights of our stays has always been our fabulous Sunday lunches at the Perrakis Hotel, starting with a wonderful gin martini. The food, service and ambience has always been exceptional. Sadly nothing could be further from the truth this year. We arrived at 1.45 last Sunday to be told that the bar was closed. “Only Pool Bar open”. My partner therefore went down to the Pool Bar and returned with the worst martini I have ever tasted in a plastic receptacle. Warm liquid which tasted nothing like a martini costing 12€ each. In retrospect we should have returned them. The lounge bar then opened at 2pm. If we had been informed of this we would have waited and at least been served them in a proper glass! We decided not to have lunch there as it has now transformed into what once was a wonderful traditional Greek restaurant into an Italian Pizza and Pasta place. I complained to Mr Philip Perrakis who was sitting at reception and his answer regarding the martinis was “They don’t know how to make them” and regarding the restaurant that “we have to move with the times”. It beggars belief that what should be properly trained bar staff at a top hotel are not skilled in cocktail preparation. It would appear that what was once a fabulous traditional Greek hotel which boasted to possess one of the best kitchens on the island and was an oasis of tranquility and calm has sadly lost its way. We shall not return.

Incredible & perfect stay!!! Lovely and helpful staff- thanks for everything Rena! Staff helped wjth taxis and navigating the island. The restaurant staff were funny and great as well, made our stay wonderful! Delicious food & our room had the perfect view of the beach and pool. I was here for a week and had the most magical and lovely time. The beach was perfect as was the pool. Made my first time in Greece perfect. Will definitely be back!

Hotel Evaluation: Advantages and Positive Aspects of My Stay This evaluation focuses on the advantages and positive elements of my stay at the hotel. Over the years, I’ve stayed in several 5-star hotels in southern Greece during the summer period. It’s always easy to spot minor issues I don’t particularly enjoy (e.g., no forest nearby for hiking, no Formula 1 racing circuit, etc.), but I tend to prioritize the more significant elements when deciding where to go. I must say I don’t prefer Bed and Breakfast options, as hotels offer more services and amenities. You can always raise concerns about things you don’t like, and there’s a responsible person available 24/7. I stayed at the hotel for six days. Here are the highlights: 1. Every room has a clear view of Kypri Bay, as the hotel is situated on a small cliff. 2. After descending the stairs (the number depends on your room), you cross a road, go down a few more steps, and arrive at a sandy beach. 3. The water is crystal clear. Using a snorkel mask, I observed visibility of over 30 yards underwater, something not many seas offer. 4. Small fish can be found at the rocky end of the bay. They’re about 7–8 inches long, typical Greek species that are edible (if you can catch them). 5. On the beach, there are nine complimentary umbrellas provided by the hotel for free. A nearby beach bar offers more comfortable seating, which you can rent for €30 for the entire day. Also, fast food is served. 6. On the opposite side of the bay, approximately a quarter of a mile away, there’s another bar where you can rent windsurfing boards, canoes, or enjoy other water sports. 7. Typical weather conditions include sunny skies (UV protection is essential, as the sun can be intense), temperatures between 26°C and 29°C, and strong north winds—common across the beaches of western Andros Island. The advantage is that the north wind runs almost parallel to the shoreline, so it doesn’t create high waves. You can swim safely and enjoy water sports. The water is shallow near the shore, and you need to go quite far out for deeper areas. Only the south wind affects the beach, but it’s rare during summer. 8. Regarding the hotel itself: • There’s a parking area behind the hotel for guests with cars, and a bus stop on the nearby road. • The hotel is very clean. • Housekeeping services are excellent. • Breakfast is self-served and satisfying, available from 8:00 to 10:30 a.m., with a view of the bay. • The staff are helpful and courteous. • There’s a quiet bar near the reception in the evening (no loud music, just drinks), and a livelier bar near the small pool during the day (though with such clear sea water, the small pool is hardly necessary). • A seating area with sea views is located near the reception. • If you prefer not to visit tavernas in Kypri or Agios Petros, there’s an Italian restaurant open from 14:00 to 23:00. You can have lunch or dine there with a sea view or order food to your room (delivery is free of charge) and enjoy it on your balcony overlooking the bay. • The hotel welcomes a diverse mix of guests—families with children, elderly visitors, couples, and more—mostly from Europe, including Greece. • Pet-friendly. • You can spend your entire stay in the area or rent a car to explore the island, using the hotel as a safe and comfortable base. Conclusion and Overall Rating: Excellent.

Very Disappointed Not Worth Coming Back We stayed at Hotel Perakis for 3 days and were extremely disappointed. Before booking, I called and was told the beach in front of the hotel was available to guests free of charge. When we arrived, we discovered that the beach had been rented out to a third party charging €30 per day for sunbeds. Hotel guests were left with a tiny, neglected section of sand with only 9 old umbrellas and broken loungers. When we complained, the staff shrugged and said there was nothing they could do. No apology, no help. We’ve been visiting this hotel for years, but it has clearly gone downhill. Breakfast is now poor and minimal, cleanliness is inconsistent, and the staff were generally unhelpful and more focused on charging for extras like beach towels and coffee than offering good service. The beach remains beautiful but I no longer recommend Hotel Perakis. Stay elsewhere and just visit the beach.

Perrakis never disappoints. Everyone is so exceptionally nice and attentive. The location is perfect, especially with the beach being steps away. The breakfast buffet offers a lot of variety and beautiful views of the ocean.

In a few words: Pros: 1. Astonishing view from every room and hotel areas (breakfast area, restaurant area, e.t.c) 2. Spotlessly clean 3. Very kind people 4. Buffet breakfast which also included healthy choices 5. Clean sandy beach with umbrellas and sunbeds a few steps away Cons: 1. Absence of Elevator 2. Relatively small bathroom, yet, spacious shower space with curtain (no glass shower door) To sum it up: Best Value for Money !!! We Highly Recommend it !!!
