Absolutely loved our stay here. The staff are excellent especially Philippe, Kevin and Daniel - we were welcomed and very much looked after. Room was beautiful and had everything we needed including a coffee machine and gorgeous terrace. Loved the pool area for great for a couple of hours relaxing. Hotel in a very quiet area but yes its a up a slight hill but that was not a problem for us. Already planning our next visit.

The hotel and staff was magnificent. They were more than accommodating to our special needs. The room was beautiful and the staff was friendly, gracious, kind and supportive. This hotel is centrally located and in walking distance to several amenities. Since the streets are hilly it is great for people interested in walking and hiking around the city.

This is a nice small hotel in a great location, very quiet. Unfortunately it was let down for me by the very strong smell of dog in one bedroom and faint in another. Woken by the smell in the middle of the night, which was like sleeping in a dog bed, after the strong perfume the hotel uses wore off. Reception unsurprised the next morning when I mentioned it. Wasn’t resolved by cleaning, provided with room freshener and a bottle of perfume. Still noticeable to hotel staff who said the room would be closed off for a deeper clean. Mattress was exceptionally hard and the ‘topper’ provided was wafer thin. Mattress in 2nd room was very lumpy, felt even lying on top of duvet. |Waitress at breakfast first day was excellent, second day was very different with much attitude we found uncomfortable and off putting. It appeared selective, we noted local guests treated very differently. A shame. Breakfast is fine but it would have been good if the warm food had been warm rather than cold e.g. scrambled eggs.|Reception staff on the whole good, Kevin was particularly helpful. As others have noted some can be a little over bearing and we found some comments made about other guests uncomfortable.|Overall despite the peace and good location I wouldn’t return due to the smell of dog which made the room feel unclean to me, bad mattresses and some staff.

Wonderful hotel! We stayed in early May 2025. We unexpectedly got upgraded and had a corner room on the third floor. Marvelous views and big room! The pictures are accurate of what the hotel looks like. The service was wonderful and their breakfast was superb. There is a nice size garden and cute pool too! The neighborhood is high end so hotel is quiet. The only downside is the hill you have to climb.

Hôtel Petit Palais is like fine French wine. It gets better with age. I’ve been coming since I was 3 years old (over 25 years). While I have fond memories as a kid of the hotel, it’s only gotten better. Under the impeccable stewardship of Phillip, the hotel has transformed into a true French gem in one of France’s most relaxing neighborhoods. The staff are all so welcoming and kind. They are extremely dog friendly. Our puppy, Pepper, approves and will be back again next summer. Merci beaucoup!

We had a lovely 3 nights at the hotel. The room was very clean and well maintained and the breakfast was delicious. What really stole the show for us was the hospitality of Philippe and the rest of the crew. Had a great time! Btw they also offer e-bikes to rent for free to guests which is great. Personal tip - we took the bikes to Villefranche sur mer and rented some paddlebaords there and on the way back stopped by the viewpoint on mont Boron. Great half day 👌

Stayed at the hotel for 3 nights in June. It was a let down for me. 1. The bathroom had a strong odor coming from the shower drain that made it very unpleasant. The hotel staff could not fix it and I worked around the problem by putting a towel on the drain and leaving the exhaust on. 2. The Panorama Room photos are deceptive. The room was quite tight and there was not even a chair to sit on and do some work (The view was decent). 3. The air conditioner was not working properly the first night and the clerk could not do anything. They did fix the problem the next day so a plus point for them 4. The staff was certainly very pleasant and courteous.

We spent a few nights here in two rooms. This small hotel is extremely charming with a very friendly staff. Philippe at the front desk is the best. I do not remember her name, but the lady whoo works the breakfast is also a gem. Typical room sizes for France, but the views and the staff are the stars here. Parking is on street, and very limited, so just be aware.

Yelp
We stayed at le Petit Palais during our recent visit to Nice. Le Petit Palais is located on a steep hill. If you are planning to stay here, I'd highly recommend taking a taxi from the airport (~35 euro) or packing light. The hike up the hill with luggage can be a challenge, even if you're in decent shape. Service at the hotel is 4.5 stars. Phillippe is awesome and has great recommendations for dinner. He's friendly and welcoming. I would give him 5 stars. I would've rated the hotel higher, but it is a bit of a trek to the touristy spots. In addition, the walls are thin, so you can hear everything that goes on in the room next door. Our neighbors were definitely having a lot of "fun" on our last night. Even though I knocked on their wall several times, I wasn't able to stop their late night fun. We thought our room included the breakfast buffet, unfortunately it didn't and we had a 16 euro/pp/day charge. It wasn't that we minded the charge, but the food was definitely not worth the 16 euro/day. There weren't that many choices at breakfast. The hotel provides free wifi access, although it is spotty. It is also limited to two sign-ons per room. If you have a lot of wifi devices, you'll find yourself trying to figure out which device you want to connect to the wifi. There are some other creative ways you can get online, but I'm sure other yelp reviewers are smart enough to figure it out. :) If I visited Nice again, I would probably pay the extra $ and stay at the Hotel Negresco. I do recommend this hotel if you have a rental car. Nice is car friendly and this particular hotel is located in a residential area, so there is plenty of free street parking.

Yelp
Absolutely wonderful boutique hotel overlooking Nice! Everything about this hotel is fresh, newly decorated and gorgeous. Comfortable beds and pillows, well-furnished bedrooms, sparkling clean and roomy bathrooms, friendly and helpful staff (who will explain where to go and what to do)...you get the picture! About one previous review: YES this hotel is located on a hill: the plentiful photos online clearly describe that fact...and the results are outstanding - quiet neighborhood, beautiful view, and fresh air! About another previous review: YES the breakfast is 16 Euros each but (traveling around the world) the buffet here is top-tier and delicious: hot eggs, bacon, sausage, plentiful fruit and baked goods, coffee and tea, juice and milk, yogurt, salmon and prosciutto...again, you get the picture! You are in France so definitely have breakfast other places on other days but for sure check out breakfast at the hotel itself! Everything is relative - for the cost (large bedroom with garden view for about 130 Euros) and the gorgeous/comfy/calm surroundings, I would give this hotel 8 stars if it was possible!

Yelp
Highly recommend this gorgeous place. Set on a (steep) hill in old Nice the rooms are spacious and we overlooked the ocean (albeit some distance away). The garden with breakfast (we didn't have it here as there was a stunning boulangerie (open every day) very close to the base of the hill where the hotel is perched upon) is beautiful, spacious and a little pool for the adventurous. The rooms are cute french, wall paper, mirrors but spacious and light. I wouldn't want for anything else in a hotel room. The front of house at the hotel was especially helpful. He has a great knowledge of restaurants and is very honest about the quality of food. His recommendations were excellent and we enjoyed chatting to him each morning about our plans. Very friendly, easy going and helpful. We would stay here again any day!
