My husband and I stayed here on our recent visit to Bergamo. What a great choice of hotel. Excellent location, beautifully presented hotel and we had a lovely superior rom overlooking the front of the hotel. The continental breakfast was fresh and plenty of choice in a delightful space which was very relaxing and had a special view to the rear and overlooked the street at the front. Fully air conditioned. Reception manned 24/7. Nothing was too much trouble. Recommendations for restaurants and sightseeing provided. Highly recommended.

One of the nicest hotel I have ever been! Great breakfast and superfriendly staff. The rooms were very stylish. Perfect location in Old Town Bergamo. Only little minus is that there could be a little more light in the rooms.

We spent three nights at the hotel piazza vecchia in Bergamo. The hotel is very central in the old town but rather unobtrusive and easy to pass by, we did the first time. There are steps up to reception and a warm welcome. ||The room was clean and comfortable. The service, including in the bar area, was very good. The buffet breakfasts are plentiful and of good quality. ||It is a great place to stay to enjoy the delights of Bergamo.

This hotel is discretely hidden through a door on the main street in the old town, Città Alta. It’s a narrow, pretty and fun street with life dancing through the warm air. The hotel is simple but providing an above expected room, a large room, immaculate, airy, high ceilings and a brand new large bathroom with a double shower and dressing area. This mix of new and old gives a relaxing and airy retreat from the streets below. The room had air-con so you could easily close the triple glazed windows at night and shut out the city noise or open the windows and let the wonderful atmosphere drift in. There is a 10pm curfew which is fascinating, 100 rings of the church bell to send everyone home. However, we were there out of season and it was still noisy, (we are not party people though!) so I imagine you will want to be in the middle of the vibrancy should you book here. It is a perfect place for a few night so you can dine out and take part in the wonderful atmosphere of Città Alta. |The breakfast was perfect, simple, fresh and the staff lovely. We definitely recommend this hotel for a short break.

Firstly the hotel is not big (13 rooms?) ||The hotel reception is reached up some steep steps. This often gets mention but my friend who is disabled managed it.||My room was clean and and comfortable as was the bathroom. I wish the lights were a little brighter but given I use my room to sleep... ||Rooms at the front face on to the "main walkway" and this can be a little noisy so some people may want to ask for a room at the back. The noise seemed to die off.||Staff were friendly and helpful. I heard someone complain the wifi didn't reach their room but they were next to me and in my room it was quick and reliable ||Breakfast was Italian buffet style it was fine for what it was. There was a small selection of Gluten Free choices for those that need it. The breakfast staff were very friendly||The location is right in the heart of the old city near the main square and is perfect for exploring.

This hotel is super cozy and has a great placement in the heart of the old city. The staff was polite, and helped us with recommendations and ordering taxis. One of the ladies could speak Norwegian as well, which was very helpful. I can absolutely recommend this hotel.

This hotel is clearly part of the fabric of the medieval town. Reception is up a steep flight of stairs with around 15 rooms on higher floors accessible by lift. We had a large roof with a little terrace and an excellent bathroom. It was quiet even with the incredible crush of people crowding the narrow streets on a fine fall weekend. Interestingly, the crowd seemed mostly local, out of visit a favorite charing place, walk the walls, have a meal. The hotel is on the drab side, neutral colors with very little by way of decoration and some shabby furniture, but still a great choice.

Pluses: Very reasonable prices (at least in shoulder season). Extremely convenient location in the heart of Bergamo high town, just steps from Piazza Vecchia. Adequate, but not large, rooms. Decent breakfast buffet is included. English-speaking front desk staff friendly and very helpful. Minuses: Steep stairs from street to lobby (but stair elevator available for the disabled). Being on the main tourist drag means lots of street noise late into the evening; air conditioning was turned off for the season so choice in our street-facing room was noisy or warm and stuffy. Pluses definitely outweighed the minuses, but see if you can get a room facing away from the street.
