Hotel Pinte Grindelwald

I stopped by for a cocktail or warm drink. The staff were friendly and helpful. I chose to sit inside as it was too cold outside. I ordered a Hunters punch which was served warm with a nice kick of alcohol to warm me up. The atmosphere is very cozy inside and soft music playing in the background. A nice place to chill or go with friends.

The food was amazing. One of the best Fondue dish we tried so far. Also the main course was very tasty. The restaurant has a very good view towards the mountains and it's positioned on the main street in Grindelwald. We did not book any hotel rooms so that's why I'm not rating the rooms. Pinte should consider having a location on maps exclusively for the restaurant part.

We just left the Pinte hotel this morning. The room was really quite nice and updated. It’s so close to everything on the main strip so a great location. The value was quite good for the area. The only problem was we had a hard time getting hot water when we wanted to shower in the morning. Like it had all been used up, but considering BG is such a quality brand that was a surprise. The other thing is we had no room phone to call to tell anyone. If they had a small fridge in the room to keep some beers cold I could have forgiven the cold water and given the extra stars. These are my suggestions to turn this from a good into a top notch economical stay in Grindelwald.

Food was ok, nothing special for the price, the bread was hard not fresh, the entry was supposed to be salmon it didn't look like it. Worst part was the waiter gave herself a hefty tip, we left 10% she charged us with 20%. So beware, untrustworthy.

We ate here in June 2022. Amazing food and people! And the chef even adapted a plate for me because I was pregnant and I couldn’t eat a certain sauce. We were served by Simona S., she is really nice, funny and professional! Thank you!

The loveliest, hospitable staff here when we ate dinner with our children. We sat outside so we could enjoy the incredible views and had a great traditional Swiss meal.

My husband and I ate here two nights ago. There is a reason this restaurant has been around for 180 years. WOW! Everything was outstanding, and I’ll break up my review into sections: FOOD- taste 10/10. there was a seasonal menu showcasing many dishes with white asparagus. We ordered quite a bit off of that. It’s one of my favorite vegetables from this region and only shows it’s face in spring. we started our meal with the garlic bread, don’t miss this super flavorful app. Then I had the special white asparagus spring salad with strawberries. Bright fresh and delightfully dressed. My husband had the white asparagus crème soup which was light vs heavy cream yet still so warm and rich. For our mains- I had the saibling (Char) with white asparagus and my husband the cordon bleu. Both were truly perfection. The waiter informed us the cordon bleu was his favorite dish on the menu and it did not disappoint! LOCATION- right in the heart of Grindelwald on the main road. We stayed at the Bergwelt so it was just a hop away for us. The vibe is relaxed, charming, with loads of history. STAFF- the staff were friendly and informative. We are Americans living in Switzerland and learning German. Grindelwald being a big tourist destination, most staff you meet will quickly speak English. But our waiter didn’t switch and kept the conversation going in German which was lovely so we could practice! Have no fear, they offer both Swiss German and English menus so you know what to order!

We stayed at Hotel Pinte in the beginning of October 2023. The hotel is close enough to the main train station that most travelers can walk without any issues. You'll actually check in at the larger hotel behind the Pinte called Bergwelt Grindelwald Alpine Design Resort. To get to BGADR, there are quite a few steps so be prepared. We arrived pretty early in the morning and the reservation staff allowed us to put our luggage at the desk while we explored the town before our official check in. The staff was so kind and provided us with water and a little snack as well. We were able to purchase our activity and gondola tickets from the staff and we were also provided with a transportation and activity discount card. I suggest making gondola, transportation, and activity purchases from the hotel so you get your discounts. This is standard practice. When it was time for check in, we were directed to the Hotel Pinte by the staff. Upon leaving with all of our luggage, the hotel driver David saw us and insisted on driving us to the hotel out front. Once we parked, he noticed we were tired from our day and brought our luggage to our room without us even asking. He was honestly the best! The room looked exactly as pictured and everything was comfortable. The only reason I took off room points is because as a person with OCD, I saw a few tiny things that I didn't like but my mom who doesn't share my condition was perfectly fine so take that as you may. Check out was quick and simple and once again, we were given water and a little snack. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and I recommend both the Bergwalt or Hotel Pinte. Either is a good option. And for those who have commented about the price, you must remember that Grindelwald is a small town and outside of staying at a hostel, this is a normal cost. The hotel is in the center of town in a major tourists destination. I honestly expected to pay much more.
