Lovely hotel, excellent service, and clearly very carefully (and recently) renovated. Also, and perhaps most importantly, the in-house kitchen - Piz Badus Steakhouse - was by far and repeatedly our best meal of the trip (and we enjoyed some of the Michelin star options in town). The head chef is also the hotel’s operator, and boy oh boy does this man work hard and do a great job.
On a past trip to Andermatt, we spent a few nights in the super luxury hotel across the street from Piz Badus and we frankly found Piz Badus to be better suited to the kind of vibe we seek on a week-long ski trip. Andermatt is decidedly un-fancy, so why bother with a stuffy super-chic hotel?
I had lots of work to do while I was in Andermatt, and I had no problem finding spots around the hotel to comfortably sit and work and handle conference calls from.
