To Whom It May Concern,
I normally do not write reviews unless there is an absolute need. With Hotel Piz, I feel that I have to inform people of the mishap that happened here concerning damaged property.
I acknowledge that I should not have left my iPad out. I usually lock this up, but somehow I forgot while going to breakfast. Meanwhile, everything else was locked up in my suitcase.
The cleaning crew came in to service the room. When we got back from breakfast, my iPad was lying on the floor next to the nightstand. Once I examined it, I found that the iPad was fine. However, the Logitech keyboard that attaches magnetically to the iPad was broken. It no longer attaches, therefore leaving the iPad unprotected as well.
I immediately went downstairs to report it to Angelina, the manager on duty. She said she would talk to the cleaning crew and call me back. What response do you think occurred with the cleaning crew? As expected, Angelina called me back later in the evening to say that the cleaning crew denied damaging the iPad keyboard. Surprise surprise. She said it was their word against ours and that she could not accuse them of lying. Well, I am most definitely accusing them. Hence, the review.
Customer Service is not Europe's strong point. As an American, I believe I would have received better service in the states. In this particular instance, Hotel Piz did not apologize or provide any kind of peace offering. Keep in mind, that the workers in St. Moritz are not necessarily from Switzerland. Therefore, I am not saying it is a Swiss mentality. Most of them are from other countries. Either way, I feel that I should warn others about this hotel. Should you leave anything out, do not expect anything from the staff. Hotel Piz is not a high end hotel with no help with activities that you would find at other luxury brands. I would avoid this hotel as it is not up to par with standards.

Alicia
