It was a beautiful hotel in a beautiful location with a lovely and helpful staff. You are walking distance to many restaurants, the beach, and the national park. The staff helped us book our excursions (transportation always included). You have access to the sister hotel’s free breakfast and access to the pools on both properties. |Rooms were dark, had A/C and a smart Tv! My only complaint was that there was a slight edge in the door so I worried constantly about bugs coming in (we were totally fine though). We saw monkeys and lots of iguanas. It was wonderful. I recommend!

Stayed in the main hotel and had a fantastic experience. My sister and I were super happy we picked Hotel Playa Espadilla to wrap up our trip in Costa Rica with a visit to Manuel Antonio. Our room was super clean and comfortable, toiletry products were fabulous, staff is super friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. We ended up having dinner there both nights because we loved the hotel vibe. The pool was awesome and the bar service too. It's just one block from the park, which is super convenient. Next time I visit Manuel Antonio, I know where I'll be staying! Pura Vida!!

Just spent 3 nights here, in the garden rooms. A popular hotel with organised tours. Lots of positives, location close to the park and beach, pool area was very comfortable and quiet, we mostly had it to ourselves. You are given beach/pool towels which you have to return to reception at the end of your stay otherwise you are charged if lost. Great place for spotting monkeys and of course iguanas are never far away. Breakfast was included and was fine (buffet style) and we ate at the restaurant for 2 nights, good choices. Happy hour was great, lovely cocktails and very chilled out. Rooms were kept spotless, loved coming back to the towel animals! |Ok the negatives, when we arrived getting into the road was chaotic, we realised afterwards it was the main route to the park so at certain times loads of cars, buses etc would use this narrow road. We were closest to the road which was noisy especially in the morning and this morning a bike was revving up at some ungodly hour! |However all in all a decent functional hotel but perhaps the area was a little too busy for my liking but I guess we all have different ideas of what makes a good location.

Wonderful hotel! Rooms are clean, staff nice and great pool. You do have to walk 1 block to the main hotel for breakfast but the breakfast was terrific. The beach is 1 block away and at low tide there are vendors with chairs/umbrellas. Manuel Antonio Park is walking distance. The Hotel arranged a kayak tour for us with pick up. Overall this is a great choice for the area.

The service is really good here. We are really happy with the way they have treated us, better than our previous hotel. They made my son a birthday brownie at breakfast too. I have to say do not order eggs Benedict here…while the presentation is lovely, the sauce is sour and the eggs were not quite right…the bread is a hamburger bun instead of an English muffin. Maybe the pancakes will be better. I’m sure the Costa Rican breakfast choice is good, and there are little yummy cakes out with fruit to eat…just don’t order the eggs Benedict if you are from USA or France because those are the other countries I have eaten this in and here it does not taste the same as those places. Stay at the hotel though, you will enjoy it. We are thankful.

Lovely setting on the edge of Manuel Antonio National Park. The hotel also has a small private reserve, which we intended to visit but 3 dogs dissuaded us from doing so. ||Beautiful view from our well appointed room. Excellent restaurant and good options for breakfast, lunch and dinner, as well as happy hour at the pool bar at 5 pm. ||Live music at night. Would not hesitate to recommend, even though I fell ill at the end of our stay for unknown reasons.

Don't let the Three-star hotel description fool you. This is a very good hotel, clean rooms equipped with smart TVs comfortable beds, and spacious showers. A lovely pool area to relax in. Breakfast is served in the sister hotel 50m down the road, which is a bit odd but a small price to pay for the value and location. Staff are very helpful and the beach, bars and cafes are just a stones throw away.

We stayed 2 nights at Hotel Playa Espadilla just outside of Manuel Antonio National Park, Costa Rica. Our room was very nice, clean, and had air conditioning. The tap water is safe to drink. The hotel is on a side road within walking distance to the national park entrance. The hotel is relatively quiet and far enough away from the national park crowds and craziness that the "parking lot vendors" cause. The "parking lot vendors" are obnoxious in that they try to make you believe that they have some sort of official authority. They will stand in front of your car to stop you to try to get you to park in their parking lot. This is a BIG Negative on the "parking lot vendors" and for the local police for letting them do this deceitful, obnoxious activity. The hotel staff was very professional and helpful. The hotel restaurant has a very good breakfast buffet. The dinner was good. There are lots of monkeys to watch.
