The resort itself is an old but beautiful property. The architecture, rock work, and lush plants give it a charming character that stands out, even if the buildings show their age in places. The grounds genuinely feel unique and thoughtfully designed.|When it comes to food, the buffet is solid—not every dish is a knockout, but we always found something we thoroughly enjoyed, and the variety made meals easy. However, the reservable restaurants were underwhelming. The food was edible but far from memorable, and we didn’t feel they added much over the buffet.|The guest demographic is mostly Spanish, and while many staff members are friendly, some do struggle with English, which occasionally made communication a bit challenging. Entertainment at the main pool is available, but it’s entirely in Spanish, so we didn’t end up participating. The kids’ club was closed, which was disappointing since we had been hoping to use it.|A major downside is the Banda music on the beach, which is extremely loud and runs from about 1pm to 6pm. It made relaxing by the beach nearly impossible for us.|That said, the ocean was the highlight of our entire trip. We absolutely loved playing in the waves together, and the beach itself—when the music wasn’t overpowering—was a beautiful place to spend time as a family.|Service overall was okay—not exceptional but not bad. Most workers were courteous, but nothing stood out as particularly impressive.|One particularly big disappointment was the pool table situation. Our son was looking forward to playing with his dad, and the games area was one of the main reasons we chose this resort. However, we were told that only adults are allowed to use the pool table, even though the area doesn’t serve alcohol. Staff couldn’t explain the rule beyond “that’s just the rule.” It was frustrating and really put a damper on something we had been excited about doing as a family.|Overall: The resort has beautiful grounds and a great oceanfront, with the waves being the highlight of our stay. However, several inconveniences—closed kids’ club, loud beach music, limited English, unimpressive specialty restaurants, and restrictive game area rules—held the experience back for us. With a few changes, it could be fantastic, but as it stands, it didn’t fully meet our expectations.
