This hotel is perfectly located on the ocean front of Playa Negra, Guanacaste, Costa Rica. It is a surfers lodge if you will. The vibe is very alternative and the upkeep of the hotel as a whole is clearly in need of an overhaul retrofit. The pools are in fairly good condition though the adults one is missing quite a few tiles. The Shala, where guests and visitors have yoga classes and relax in the hammocks, needs a roof and floors touch up. The overall view of the hotel exterior is a clear picture of its beautiful setting and surroundings. However, it looks like the hotel needs some renovations to justify the nightly rates it charges. If you don’t mind looking around and seeing places and things that need to be fixed during your stay there, go for it because this hotel location is hard to beat and the staff and locals are super friendly and welcoming.

Wonderful beach. Great surf. Charming resort with a nostalgic feel. Nice outdoor pavilion serving food and drinks. Surfboard rental. Lots of parking.

Beautiful, secluded beach with some of awe-inspiring dark sand patterns in every single place along the beach. Every single wave draws a new pattern... The restaurant is spacious and with amazing beachfront sights right from your dinner table. The waves break really nearby. Beach has strong currents so lots of respect for the sea is needed here. Surfing spot for more experienced swimmers.

The best of this hotel is the restaurant and the service, and obviously that is just at the beach. The food is really tasty, and good prices. The view amazing and the fact that its a surf hotel makes it cool. The service is 100% , but the rooms maybe can be a bit better , with better lighting and sound proof.

Stayed here during the rainy season, and we still had lots of beautiful days. We didn't surf here but north a bit at the sandy beach near Lola's. We used Jose Pablo as our instructor there. He was great.

We stopped in for lunch after a nice day on the beach. We ordered a couple of beers, Nachos and beef empanadas. The beer was nice and cold and the food was delicious. The staff were nice and very attentive. The place offer some wonderful views of the ocean.
