Checking in we were a bit unsure due to the bad reviews on here so we asked to see the room. It is a very nice room on the 2nd floor, we booked a Superior Double and honestly there is nothing wrong with the room. It is of course a very old hotel but looks like it was recently renovated. I am not sure if the owners addressed the issues mentioned in other reviews but our room was clean, bedding was clean, AC worked well and there was even a smart TV. No noise that we could hear. WiFi is fast as the routers are everywhere on the hallway. Luckily we did not see the caged birds, I hope the owners have set them free. I know most other reviews rate the location highly and we also booked because it is right across from the ADO station but I am not sure that I would recommend this location. The hotel is probably the nicest one around. But what is the point of staying so close to the ADO station when you can take an uber for 50-60MXN and be in a much nicer area of town in under 10 minutes?

Good to stay one night not more. Don't accept ground floor rooms ! It's too noisy and people don't care. The front desk is unfriendly. Overall just a one night hotel very useful if you have to take the bus.

An older hotel directly across from the Cancun ADO station, making it infinitely convenient. |We definitely got a better room than previous visits. But the window screens fit so poorly that vegetation was growing inside. The shower needed regrouting. The electrical needs some serious consideration. There was a coffee maker, water and cups this time. (Many other visits we have had one of the 3.)|The staff are always friendly, and helpful. The rooms are always clean. The pool and grounds are lovely.

I'm not sure why it says this is a 4-star hotel- it definitely is not. I stayed here two times in two different rooms. In the first room there was no microwave, no refrigerator, no safe, some parts of the room were not well maintained, and all the towels they gave us had strange orange stains on us. Most of the time, they gave us the incorrect number of towels as well. There was also a gap between the top of the door and the wall, so light shone in during the night and we could hear everyone walking outside. There was a thin sliding door between the room and the shower, and there was no door between the shower and the toilet. Above the toilet there was a fan that was directly connected to the outside, so bugs could get in. (see pics 1-8) The second room was much better than the first room we stayed in. There was still no microwave, refrigerator, or safe, but the room was better maintained and seemed newer. There was no gap between the door and the wall. There was also a door between the toilet and the shower this time, too. However, there were still orange stains on the towels. (see pics 9-10) The facilities themselves are pretty nice and all the trees are really pretty. We saw a couple of peacocks, too! There are some sketchy characters outside the hotel, but it's not that bad because there are a lot of cars and people moving around near the bus station. The location was good, but I would not recommend staying here for more than one night.

This hotel is perfect for a one night stay as it is directly across the street from the ADO bus terminal. It was clean, comfortable and quiet. The pool was lovely and well maintained. |The property is a little run down and could use an update. Bedspread had a hole, drawer handles were falling off but nothing serious. We took the bus directly from the airport and stayed again prior to returning to the airport after our trip.|The hotel restaurant was ok for breakfast and we enjoyed watching the peacocks in the garden. However, the restaurant was very disappointing in the evening. We were given dirty, worn out menus with an entire page of alcoholic beverages listed, only to be told that they only had beer. We then realized that the lobby bar was closed and there were only a few customers in the restaurant. It appeared that they had not recovered completely from the covid closures.|I would definitely recommend this hotel if you are taking a bus.

Had read very negative feedback and got worried. But I must say that I liked the place. The room where I was, on the ground floor, certainly got very humid (unless you have a/c on all the time at low temperature, I assume) but the place is very central, one step away from ADO bus, there are two swimming pools open till late and the service was friendly.

Room was acceptable when requested a second-floor room. Do not accept a room fron ground floor. Customer service in the lobby was clearly in contempt of us, but other employees were nice.

Do not make the same mistake that we did and thought it might be a good place to stay overnight before catching the bus to Merida. This has go to be one of the worst hotels we have ever stayed. When we checked-in, the lady behind the glass asked for another 760 Mxn for taxes which we saw on Priceline that it was included. She spoke very little English and did not explain to us why there are additional taxes. We paid it because we were stuck with a place to stay the night. When we opened the door to our room, it was jammed to the floor half way. We had to push the door to open it fully. The room looked tired and the mirrors looked like they have been picked up from the junk yard (see photo). When my wife turn on the water for her shower, it was barely lukewarm and we try to call the front desk with no answer. I had to walk to the front desk and ask someone to come see why there was very little hot water. The maintenance man came three times to try and see if it can be adjusted with no luck and there was no explanation as to why.

Yelp
What a disaster! I am so disappointed! Extremely expensive, had to wait for two hours for my room, they did not change my sheets. Anyways, should I go on?! What a scam! This is not the place it used to be anymore!

Yelp
Hotel section is very clean and staff is friendly. We where able to leave our bags behind the front desk after check out time to continue using the pool. The pool area was very clean as well. I give the hotel portion of the hotel 4 stars. The restaurant however I give 2 stars. I ordered shrimp skewers and the shrimp came lose on the plate. The shrimp was over cooked very salty and tough. I returned the plate and ordered a Caesar salad. The croutons were stale, the bread that came with my daughter spaghetti was very stale as well. I have no complaints of the customer service that we received from the waiter, he was very friendly and understanding.

Yelp
This place is literally across the street from ADO bus station. The rooms have AC and hot water. There are computers with internet access. There is no refrigerator in the room but there is a 7-11 literally right next door where you can buy cold drinks and even ice cream (because it's punishingly hot and humid in Cancun). My first stay, walked right in paid and went straight to the room. The second time we had to wait for 2 hours until 3pm to check-in but the room still wasn't ready (Basically, we just needed towels so we could shower). I did not use the restaurant or the pool.

Yelp
This is my second stay at Hotel Plaza Caribe. The pool lounge chairs are still broken. The local populace is bundled up like Eskimos, but the pool heater was turned off. There is no solar pool cover & no one skims ( cleans the bugs, flowers) the pool. If you have a prepaid breakfast chit getting what you ordered involves multiple requests for basics- like toast & juice. Lots of times two people behind the bar or 4 people being the front desk but no coffee. The rooms are pleasant and we'll maintained. However, security remains in the lobby even as guests are loud after 3:00 a.m. Then at 9: 00 .m. the maids are kicking despite d.n.d. signs. Some mattresses are very old, but showers are great. Its a great location, but wait staff, security need training, inspection, follow routines & quit TEXTING instead of working. Mgmt needs to walk around & group sales looked down this year. Best, Jack

Yelp
We stayed there overnight to catch a bus (ADO bus terminal is literally across the street) to the airport the next morning. We stayed in a standard room. We chose that hotel to accomplish a specific objective -- easy access to transportation to the Cancún airport. Hotel Plaza Caribe does offer the basics: safety; clean room that allow us to take a hot shower, working a/c, internet, TV, soap, clean towels... For the amounts of time of our stay (overnight) and for the price, it's okay (2-stars). We didn't use the pool nor visit the restaurant but went instead to a familiar restaurant that's just around the corner across the street. Under similar circumstance of having to stay overnight to catch an early flight, we will not hesitate to stay there again. Hope this helps.
