Lovely hotel|Brilliant location with everything you’d want in walking distance. |Lovely staff. Particularly Carlos who went above and beyond to help us. |Lovely pool. Serene and relaxing. |Big clean rooms with powerful AC. |Loved the buffet breakfast that had lots of options. |Hotel arranged transfers to airport ($70) collected us from beach ($80) and a three hour trip to the crater lake ($80). Think we overpaid a little bit there- but nice clean cars with seat belts.

This was probably one of the worst hotel stays I've ever endured in my travels. I would be doing an injustice if I don't save at least one person from staying here and by writing this review If you value your sleep please read & DO NOT stay at this location. There is a DANCE studio right next door that no one is mentioning that play music so loud!!! Let's starts of with the PROS: the Location is perfect for access to walking to other activities, nearby restaurants, etc. Rooms have most amenities you would look for. CONS: I didn't get a good night sleep any of the nights here. You can literally hear everything, dogs barking and cars (expected so not the biggest problem). The UNKNOWN problem was the DANCE STUDIO next door blasting music that was literally booming an shaking and vibrating the building. This started at 10:30pm the first night of my stay. I looked to contact the receptionist at this time & then realized there was no telephone. What hotel room doesn't have a telephone?, immediate concern and red flag. Following the next morning this, "dance studio" started music up at. 5:30am in the MORNING!. Loud/booming sounding like a club, I was deeply upset as this is vacation and I'm not getting any SLEEP. I went downstairs and talked to receptionist who played like "oh this doesnt happen often" and also acted surprised when I mentioned that there was no phone in the room, like they knew and that was okay. I had a tour that day, I came back to my room at 4:30pm as I was off touring the rest of the day and no one had touched my room and I had placed the sign out to do so. At 5pm the noise started again, I went downstairs and spoke to the front desk about the noise then and from the previous night. He put on the theatrics of trying to show me another room, but stated I would maybe hear the nightclub from the other side and I agreed to switched. Ended up switching from 209 to 107 on the main floor adjacent to the pool and it was much better, but you still hear noise. 107 is next to the pool and I believe the they kept the door ajar when cleaning it because mosquitoes got in the room when I came back which I realized too late. I would not recommend anyone staying here. The noise is understated in all the reviews. The only thing that would make me happy about this experience is getting my 100% of my money back, deeply disappointed for such a highly rated hotel in Granada.

Wonderful place!Very nice, professional service. Beautiful architecture of the entire facility, a perfect combination of history and modernity. Amazing view from the balcony of the cathedral. Breakfast by the pool is magic, every moment in this hotel is worth remembering 😀

One of the most comfortable beds I have ever stayed in! Our room was amazing and so clean, the breakfasts are great and all the staff are so friendly, we couldn’t have had a better stay! One thing to note is rooms on the left hand side of the hotel (if you are facing the property) may be quite loud if you are staying over Christmas due to outside music (which ended by 10pm) and is out of their control unfortunately. The hotel provided ear plugs and also offered us a different room to move to. Highly recommend.

Perfect location and vibe immaculately maintained with friendly service. The decor is true to the period with fine artwork and furnishings. Our room was spacious with beautiful doors that opened to the balcony overlooking the street. Breakfast was included and very good. |Our stay was peaceful and comfortable we will return.

This was an excellent stay. The location is perfect as it is right on the central square/park. The staff spoke good English and were friendly and helpful. My room was on the first/ground floor next to the pool and breakfast dining. In the morning I could hear some sounds, but not disruptive. At night I could hear some music due to a festival. But the first night there was absolutely no noise. ||The room itself is clean and modern. The AC was very strong and there is also a ceiling fan. Bed was comfortable and there was a plug next to the bed. ||TV with some English news channels. There was a working fridge, but the door was always stuck and hard to open. They provide you with two carafes of filtered water that you can refill in the lobby. ||Shower had good hot water and decent water pressure. They provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. ||My only hang up was the WiFi. In the room it was intermittent. I struggled at times to use FaceTime with family (mostly in the evening when there were likely more people using it).

Just came back from a long weekend getaway to Nicaragua and spent one night in Granada here at the Hotel Plaza Colon in a single balcony room facing the plaza and cathedral. I loved the Mahogany & Oak wood design throughout. The hotel was well kept. The staff was kind and very well communicative through WhatsApp from the time of booking to post-checkout - thank you Carlos! They offered to set up a car service for us from the Managua airport ($60 for 2 ppl one-way) which we found to be far more convenient than worrying about varying fares from the airport taxis. The bed, pillows and even the fluffy towels all felt very luxurious, given the price (coming from the US). The body wash that is made specifically for them has a delicious scent and I'd buy it if I could! The location was great. Easy walk to the lake, the other cathedrals, the markets and just a mile to the Granda Cemetery if you wanted to check that out. I highly recommend this location for your stay, as I would certainly return.

In the heart of Granada is a place where you can stay safely and I'm comfort, close to the sights. Our room at the Plaza Colon is clean and well appointed, comfortable and modern. The shower has enough hot water, the bed was comfortable, and bottles of purifier water are in the room. We appreciated am afternoon in the pool and that evening smoked a local cigar with some 18 year old rum at the bar before walking to dinner. The staff are pleasant.
