Excelente hotel in the old centre of the town , near to great beaches and wonderfully ancient sites such as El Dolmen de Soto , beautifully clean hotel and friendly staff , highly recommended .||The hotel has been reformed to a high standard all rooms come with air con , mini fridge and international tv , , it is built in a traditional style with outside spaces to sit i within the hotel . Drawing on its Moorish links to the past , Breakfast comes as a buffet style with all you can imagine ! A great start to the day with fresh local fruit among your choices , The hotel has a 2 star rating which is far less than it deserves !! We enjoyed our stay ! It was fantastic ! The price unbelievable !!

This is a lovely small hotel that is newly renovated. The bedroom was typically small, but there was a nice little solarium lounge area. Loved the stained glass around the doors separating the breakfast room from the solarium! Staff spoke minimal English, but we're very nice and helpful despite our language barrier. Breakfast was the typical range of eggs, ham, cheese, cereal, and yogurt along with good coffee. However, the bread was Wonder bread type (pasty...sticks to the roof of your mouth)...but overall the breakfast was fine. If you want quiet, be sure to ask for a room at the back of the hotel. ||We walked around in the evening and found a fun square with very modern fountains with changing colors of lights...quite unexpected & fun! |

In this town location is important and this hotel is in the middle of town. The place is immaculate, recently built or renovated and most rooms are on the main floor. Though there is a second floor, if you want to avoid lugging your things up just ask for a first floor location. The rooms have somewhat smallish windows which open to the patios. The front desk is manned 24 hours the breakfast small but adequate for the price.

As readers can see, I have travelled and reviewed a fair bit. This hotel is worth finding. It is just about 300 - 500 metres from all of the sights of Moguer. It is clean, staffed with friendly people, has a minibar that charges real world prices and it is quiet. It has comfortable beds, well-equipped bathrooms with great water pressure. I would stay here again, and most likely will, whenever I got to Huelva (20 minutes) or to the beaches (20 minutes) or to Doñanna National Park. Why pay more for less when you can stay here and pay less for more?

This small, rural hotel is a great place to stay when you're visiting Moguer. It is clean, cosy and with nice atmosphere. There are 4 patios where you can sit and enjoy lovely Spanish weather. The rooms are nicely decorated and well equipped with TV, hair dryer, fridge with mini bar etc. The only drawback is the lack of wi-fi connection - you need to use a cable to connect to internet.

The Hotel Plaza Escribano may be a small hotel but the quality of everything is far better than many larger hotels I have stayed in. the sitting rooms and patios were lovely. The sitting room doubled up as the breakfast room, what a nice place to start your day! The modern fittings in the hotel blended in very well with the older style décor||The staff were very pleasant and although they did not speak English to well were very helpful.||Wi Fi was a bit hit and miss, the reception area and adjoining rooms were ok but the bedroom I was in ( 209 ) there was no connection.||Car parking can be a little difficult in the narrow streets around the Hotel but there is a parking place to drop off and collect in front of the Hotel.||The Plaza Escribano is central and very well situated to visit the historical places in Moguer.||Also Moguer is a good centre for touring other towns in the region.||I highly recommend this hotel.

I visited Moguer in order to better understand the poetry of Julio Ramon Jimenez who wrote 'Platero Y Yo' - a sequence of prose poems which evoke this little Andalusian town and I booked to stayt in Hotel Plaza Escribano because it adverytised itself as a cheap 2 star hotel. It most certainly isn't. It's probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room was comfortable and spotless with a dish of strawberries to welcome me on the table. There was wifi throughout the hotel. And for an extra 5 euroes the offered breakfast. I looked at the piucture on the wall of a cup of coffee, an ornafe juice and a croissant and agreed. IOn the morning i came down top a pyramid os strawberries, a selection of fruit juices, yoghurts, cold mears, cheeses, pastrties, and endless coffee. The breakfast room was a library - on the walls there were pictures of Jimenez. The bedrooms were arranged around an open whitewashed patio which allowed you to look up into the cloudless blue which seems to be a permanent feature of the Andalusian weather and landscape. Couldn't recommend this delightful hotel more highly.

This hotel is very clean, good rooms, good bathroom very good wifi, nice and friendly staff (you need to understand a bit of spanish, they understand a bit of english so you will be able to communicate!).||But the rooms are within the building, the window opens on the open gangway overlooking the open space within the building, of which part of it is covered by a glass ceiling, part of it is open to the sky. There are open spaces with chairs and tables on each floor.||You can have breakfast in the library, a buffet with fresh strawberries, same as you find on a plate when you arrive and each day during your stay. Good coffee.||If you do not mind the set up with no windows to the outside world but to (guests that pass to their rooms along) the gangway, it is a very good and very priceworthy ||choice.
