This very reasonable clean central and welcoming hotel was a useful stop over on our touring holiday north of Cuenta.|Room clean and fresh. Most rooms have balconies as features. Our room was quite small. Nice modern bathroom with essential products. We had breakfast which was plentiful continental style. |Parking is available for free only 5 minutes walk to the hotel in Plaza Mayor.

Having read the previous review, I decided to check it out anyway, and was quite glad I did. My room was elegant, with a comfortable canopied bed, good aircon, excellent bath, and balcony overlooking the plaza. The only drawback is the room is quite small for the price (I took it as a single, but I think it is used as a smaller double). ||The pedestrian plaza is alive at night with families and children, creating a wonderful atmosphere. The balcony windows are soundproof, and the walls are good, so noise isn't a problem. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from the bus station, in the heart of the old city, and about a 15 minute walk to the beautiful river park, which stretches for a few kilometers. ||The ladies who run the hotel are friendly and helpful, and check- in was a breeze. You buzz yourself in and out, using the electronic key card. I will definitely stay here again. ||Soria has a historic center, with many medieval buildings and churches, a market, and three lively squares. It is definitely worth a couple of days. However, it is difficult to reach the ruins of Numancia without a car - I hitchhiked.

A great hotel. The room is very clean. The bathroom had everything you need: bath, hair dryer, even a body cream. In the bathroom all new. Heating in the bathroom worked. In the room with minibar, TV. View from my room to the central square. The district and the town is quiet and calm. The hotel is located right in the center, beautiful view from the window. The hotel has created a pleasant feeling of comfort, each room is decorated in individual style. Very nice and friendly staff. You can not evaluate by 2 and 3 stars.

We'd booked a "superior" room at a significantly higher cost. We were given a room without being told it was a standard room, but it clearly didn't match the description. We were then told we could have another standard room "almost as good as superior" but at superior price. Then we were given an attic. We kept requesting the room we booked. Finally after 1 hour, 3 phone calls & numerous trips around the hotel we were given the right room. They actually had 2 available but didn't want to give them to us. Language wasn't the issue, we can speak reasonable Spanish. There was never an apology or acknowledgement of their poor behaviour.

We stayed at Hotel Soria Plaza Mayor for one night at the beginning of our 10-day trip around northern Spain in May 2008. The hotel itself has been nicely renovated, and the reason for our rating of "Terrible" has everything to do with the customer service and nothing to do with the facilities. It was by far the least welcoming hotel we have ever stayed at in Spain. First, after letting us into the underground parking garage, the woman left us alone in almost total darkness without showing us where to turn on the lights while we sorted out our luggage. Next, she failed to copy all of the pages she needed from my passport at check-in, and when we came back downstairs after getting settled she accused me of withholding my passport number. So I told her the number and we left for dinner. When we came back she was going over the photocopy of my passport with another staff member and pounced on us as soon as we walked in the door, accusing me of giving her the wrong number. I went upstairs, got my passport, and showed her that I had indeed given her the correct number. She did not even apologize. Since we appeared to be the only people staying in the hotel, they should have been happy to have our business and should have treated us better than this. Our advice: do not stay in Hotel Soria Plaza Mayor, or better yet, skip Soria all together - there was very little to see or do in the town.

I'm an eleven year old girl. When i got to the Hotel Soria, me and my companions on this holiday were warmly welcomed by a lovely woman eager to help us settle in and enjoy are stay. She also provided us with maps, information... ||I thought the room was OK, but that is if you do not mind having a small room with no WI-FI.||The next morning I woke up to find the most appalling breakfast. The woman at the desk was a dark hared, moody, " Don't bother me" faced woman. When my mum couldn't operate the cofee machine and asked for help, the woman rolled her eyes, groaned, did the cofee, and had a " Can't you just leave me alone" look on her. The when my mum went to put tomato paste on her bread, she found that the container it came in was full on mold! And what the lady do? Groaned, rolled her eyes, and shoved some more containers in are face without even saying sorry. And at checkout time, she asked if she should explain the datails to us in spanish or english, and when we asked for english, she rolled her eyes (as ussual). And as we left, we said: You could smile a bit more... But she said: What?! And as we left she stared in an insulting way. Please, do not come to this hotel, as i strongly do not reccomend it.

The lady on the desk when we arrived was lovely, could not be more helpful with detailed tourist advice. Breakfast and the morning receptionist was another story. I recommend not asking how the the coffee machine works unless you are ready for a 'why are these stupid people bothering me' look. When we showed mold in a sachet of tomato relish there was no apology, just more angry looks. When I went to pay she asked English or Spanish, I said English and she rolled her eyes. Won't be staying there again...
