I really enjoyed the hotel’s central location and it made getting around Santiago incredibly easy. The staff were a highlight of the stay, everyone was warm and welcoming, and a great breakfast each morning was a good way to start the day. A special thanks to Bastián at the Bristol bar, who was especially kind and attentive and truly made my evenings there memorable. That said, the rooms could use some updating. The décor and bathroom fixtures felt quite dated, the curtains were dusty, and the sink didn’t drain properly during my stay. These issues took away a bit from what was otherwise a pleasant experience. Overall, it’s a well-located hotel with wonderful people and good service, but some maintenance and room updates would really elevate the stay.

The hotel is located between two underground stations (about 5min walk to each), it has an underground carpark. Rooms are big, beds comfortable, but some areas of the room could be cleaned better. Breakfast is a continental style but good variety and the hotel bar serves food as well.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights as part of a tour. The hotel is located very close to pedestrian shopping streets that lead to the main square and has a small market almost next door for drinks, snacks etc. Breakfast was very good quality. Staff very pleasant and helpful. We got a nice welcome drink on arrival. We got warmed many times by staff about being careful for pickpockets once we left the hotel and to be very careful about what we took out. The hotel is a lovely traditional style and a good place to stay

This classy old hotel is a bit dated but still offers a very comfortable if not luxury stay to guests at a great location with all the amenities and a bargain price. Our room was larger than any other on our two-week trip, quiet with a fabulous view, plus had extras like a jacuzzi & patio. The bar and restaurant were great as well, along with the staff. We thoroughly enjoyed our time there and surely will return on our next visit to beautiful Santiago.

This hotel is so wonderful. The location is central in Santiago making sight seeing easy during the day. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The real highlight is the staff. We really appreciated the bell service during both of our stays and the bartenders/lounge staff were fantastic. We do not speak much Spanish and did not have any issues at the hotel. They embodied the spirit of hospitality. We stayed twice in two weeks and would certainly stay there again should our travels bring us back to Santiago.

The hotel is in the city center, near most tourist sights. There is a metro close by. Sadly the area has an increase of crime the last few years, so the porters normally stand inside||The hotel is clean and comfortable. With a nice bar and a restaurant||I had a Jr Suite. The room was very spacious and clean. With a king size bed and a sitting area. The bathroom was large and the room also had access to a terrace. Sadly there was no bathropes, like Im use to from other 5* hotel. In Chile you can drink the tap water, still Im use to get free bottled water from hotels of this category. So the hotel in reality might be a really good 4* hotel.||The breakfast is in the restaurant. It has a lot of different options and there is a cook making omelets. Even if not included, its worth the price||This can't be said about the evening restaurant (especially now that they claim to be the best restaurant in town). Like the menu say crisp french fries, sadly they are very soft. The waiters on the other hand are very friendly

We expected more from a 5 star hotel, to be told when showed to our room "you have to pay for the bottled water as the tap water is drinkable" is not a great start, along with 1 tea bag and one coffee pod to last 3 nights!, further pods/teasbags could be purchased. The breakfast was good, but my husband was told he could not take a beer to the room and was told he must go to the room and order room service instead. Clean rooms but certainly failed for us unfortunately.

Sadly the party in question was on an open terrace on the 5th floor and our 3rd floor room overlooked a concrete courtyard into which all the concentrated noise fell. The DJ's inane bellowing and throbbing beats filled our stay with an entirely unwelcome soundscape. As merely simple hotel guests rather than partygoers we weren't invited to the decibel-fest but were lucky enough to 'enjoy' it anyway. For hours. The attendees did have a great time though. I harbour no ill-will towards them enjoying happy times and wish them all well. My issue is that a 5-star hotel should at least consider allowing non-party attending hotel guests the option of a bit of peace and quiet should they wish rather than enforcing them to endure a long-lasting wall of sound. In addition our bathroom had all the charm and sophistication of a 1980s Blackpool boarding house (see pic). The morning after the night before offered more frustration. 200 people fighting over 100 spaces at breakfast was appalling. The staff scurried around in a pointless panic. There were no tables, no cutlery, and no cups left to put the scarce coffee into. Base camp holiday firm Butlins does mass catering better, smoother, and more organised than this shambles. Once again, an acceptable offering from a 5-star hotel? Decide for yourself.

Yelp
This is an old fashioned 5 star hotel complete with doormen, porters and you get to sit down in an armchair in front of an elaborate desk when checking in. Got a king bed room in the 01 tier facing the main blvd - was told it's an upgrade so more like a suite with sitting area divided from the bedroom by a heavy duty TV stand with shelves. Overall a very nice room except for one thing - the bedroom shares a wall with the elevator shaft so there is a constant faint but very audible dinging sound all day long except for 5-6 hours in the middle of the night. Mentioned this to the staff, am pretty sure other guests must have noted it before but they said they don't know about it. So just keep this in mind. Can't be sure it's the elevator as you don't always hear it when standing in front of them but there is no other explanation. Other than that, the location is excellent, breakfast with egg station offers a huge selection. Service is good - on day of our departure the front blvd was completely blocked to traffic by a citywide demonstration and we would have missed our flight without the hotel's assistance.

Yelp
Loved our stay with Hotel Plaza San Francisco! Definitely would like to stay here again when we visit Santiago. Great service, delicious brekkie, comfortable room, and I loved the sauna! The location is very convenient to Mercado Centrale, Plaza de Armas, Santa Lucia. The hotel has a nice old charm and I enjoyed the live music in the lobby (at the highly recommended restaurant) in the evenings. The gym, swimming pool and sauna are indoors and located on the -1 floor. There are lockers with towels and slippers when you visit the gym, swimming pool or sauna.

Yelp
Rustic feel, Old world charm, spacious, convenient location in downtown Santiago and within walking distance to many shopping areas, restaurants. Extremely helpful staff. Comfortable room with good beds. The safe in our room wasn't working, we had to call them many times but the maintenance staff couldn't speak or understand English but the staff at reception could. Good breakfast options. They even have an option for coffee and bread only in the lobby if starting the day early. Tried their restaurant for empanadas and drinks - were good. Overall, the stay was pleasant.

Yelp
Really great hotel in a convenient location. I definitely loved the rustic, old fashion feel of Hotel Plaza San Francisco. the rooms were clean, the beds were large & spacious, and the bathroom even included robes! The fitness room was clean and a pool is included as an amenity. Free wifi is also a major plus for foreigners :) Oh, and free breakfast! And the staff is helpful with suggestions & very friendly. They held my bags for me & my friend for a few days until we actually stayed with them (as per my request) because we were going to hike Patagonia for a few days prior to our hotel stay. The receptionist also helped us book a tour prior to our re-arrival into Santiago, aiding us with a better suggestion & helping us save money! Win-win! One last thing I loved about this hotel was that they had their own private shuttle to the airport & it costed the same amount as a taxi (if not, cheaper because some taxis try to rip you off). A major help for travelers, thank you!!!

Yelp
Location: right in the heart of Santiago downtown Customer Service: 5 stars+++! They were helpful in every way. They let us leave our luggage at the hotel before we went off to hike in Patagonia. They also arranged a tour for us to Valparaiso & Vina del Mar for our last day there, which picked us up from the hotel and made everything easier. Breakfast: Buffet style, AMAZING food, so much variety AND they have pão de queijo and giant peach slices Rooms: Huge, spacious and clean! Comfy beds. Wifi: FREE
