I've stayed maybe 3 or 4 times over the years, last time maybe 12 years ago. Back then the place was simple, special and cosy with it's confortable modern rooms all with exceptional sea views. They since build a second floor but i was always on the ground floor. The woman in reception back them could be a pleasant but also off-hand if, for example, you stayed in your room and didnt want it cleaned or did anuthing she dissaproved of. Hopefully, if she is still there, she's learnt how to cater to guests desires whenever possible and without grumbling, meaning to be not too French (I'm half french so I know what I mean). In the years since I was there I'm lucky to have stayed in some of the best rated hotels in the world, but I'm now considering booking here this year and hoping it still has the 'charme' it had all those years ago.

Amazing place to be, the location is fanastic. The rooms are small but modern furnitured, the view from the room is fantastic. I would have appreaciated a closet. The perfect spot for vacation. Also the restaurant has great food. In my personal experience there is only one thing to improve: the organization could be better. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. On the reception you receive the message that the restaurant will be closed in the evening and it is open - such tiny things but nothing what really bothers. As mentioned we loved the location and it is in walking distance to the train station for trips to Marseille and Toulon. We enjoyed our stay.

It's a bijoux!! Some of the nicest hotel I've ever been. We had a nice room with a terrace next to the sea. The view is amazing! The room is small but well organized and lots of storage space. The window has electronic shutters. The bathroom is also good and clean. Good shower. Further the staff is very friendly and obliging. In addition the hotel includes a very good restaurant with a nice view and a beach bar with sunbeds. Book a room at this hotel and you will definitely not regret!

We got there in a heat wave at noon. No water or anything offered by reception. Reception was (temporarily) in a basement with no A/C. Then:||||6 am wake up?? we were told-- after we paid and signed- that we had to be woken up at 6 for construction. They offered free breakfast?! No thanks- we were jet lagged and on vacation.||||Rudeness - while we were debating this and online looking for lighter lunch spots, we stood in the shade in the parking lot only to be told by a very rude waitress of the hotel restaurant that we cannot wait there, it is only for hotel guests. I complained to the reception and to the manager, and no response. ||||No lounge chairs/umbrella! -- the hotel would not book us lounge chairs, either at their place or literally anywhere in Bandol. I had asked weeks in advance. ||We spend day 1 of 2 day trip in room due to the heat. They booked for day 2.||||Views and balcony-- after we told them we wanted to cancel and go elsewhere, they re-scheduled the construction, and treated us to day 2 lounge chairs. The room was nice, good AC, great balcony with views of the sea.||||breakfast on balcony- this was the highlight.||||location - great location on the beach about 10 walk from all the center of Bandol.||||||Summary- many better options. I wish we had stayed at Ile Rousse Hotel Thalazur (had lunch there) or very special looking Hotel Splendid.

We wanted to end our 2 week trip to France in Bandol and we wanted to stay as close to the water as possible. There are a wide variety of hotels in Bandol in pretty desirable locations, but, after a bit of research, the Hotel Plein Large seemed to be our best option. Well, it has exceeded our expectations in every way! First, the staff are wonderful - helpful, friendly & very dedicated. Second, the rooms are right on the Mediterranean - it’s literally 50 feet from our room’s veranda. And finally, access to the adjoining beach and Bandol itself is excellent. Our room was perfect: clean, spacious (bigger than our hotel room in the Marais in Paris!) and the proximity to the water is ideal. Oh, forgot to mention the nightly sunsets. Incredible! Stay here, unwind after traveling through France as we did and the Hotel Plein Large will be the ideal site to bid a fond adieu to France!

I stayed here for two nights on a business trip and the hotel was just what I needed. This is not a luxury property, it is quaint, clean, simple, and very affordable. ||||My room opened right up to the ocean and the sound of crashing waves was very relaxing. The sunsets were remarkable.||||Free & fast wi-fi, a 3-5 minute walk to town, and a pleasant staff. I would not hesitate to stay here again.

You are not going to get much closer to the sea without getting wet! A wonderful location facing the ocean with a lagoon area with calmer water to the rear. Rooms are clean and fresh, the people are really nice. Breakfast is OK, Room rates are very good. It is only a short walk to the town centre. ||||We left our room a bit untidy on our first morning, in a hurry to get to Paul Ricard. When we returned it looked like my mother had been in! Not only was the room made, but clothes hung up and bags packed away. Service above and beyond.||||The only down side is that you can't turn the volume down on the waves.
