Hotel Poco a Poco

This hotel was a real find, from the moment we arrived to check -in , offered a cool flannel and a refreshing drink, this felt like a little bit of luxury. |The hotel was beautifully presented, with plenty of outdoor seating areas and the pool and Jacuzzi were really inviting, especially after a hard day trekking and Ziplinning through the amazing Cloud Forest. |The rooms were lovely and clean, with a well stocked mini-bar to use as part of the package. |Ideally situated in the town, close to the shops,restaurants and a short drive away from the activities that you can enjoy whilst staying in Monteverde. |We dined in the restaurant on one of the evenings, the food was excellent with a special mention to our waiter Anthony who really looked after us, as did all the other staff at the hotel, including Axel on the reception desk. |Please take the time to wander around the grounds of the hotel, it has a wonderful winedy path to explore and feels like you are heading into the middle of the forest. |Me and my family were really impressed with the Cloud Forest in general, this hotel just made it extra special and comes highly recommend for your stay.

We stayed 3 nights. First night the room was on the top floor and it was very windy. We asked to move and were upgraded to one with a private hot tub free of charge. Robes are provided which is really helpful. Mini bar in room is free! And is topped up every few days. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Although we used the restaurant on our first night we prefer sampling local food and we were able to walk to local shops and bars easily. Location is really handy for access to local town.

This hotel was a real find, from the moment we checked in.....we were given a cool face towel and a refreshing drink.....it felt like a 5 star hotel. ||The location was excellent, right in the heart of Monteverde near the shops,restaurants and a short drive away from the attractions. ||All the rooms and amenities at the hotel were 1st class, we dined in the restaurant for one of our evenings and was really impressed with the quality of the food and wine that was on the menu...... special mention has to go to Anthony our waiter who did a splendid job of looking after us.,..as do all the hotel staff who were so attentive. ||We highly recommend this lovely hotel.

This hotel is in a great location, a 5 minute walk to the centre of Santa Elena and across the road from a small mall with a good selection of shops and restaurants. The pool is small but has a great bar and a jacuzzi to fit 6 people all covered so protected from the elements. Breakfast was a buffet of Costa Rican cooked food, fresh fruit, pancakes, cereal and an omelette station. Dinner is served in a separate restaurant to the breakfast area with a small but adequate menu. There is ample parking on site for the number of rooms. Building work was ongoing whilst we were there for a new fitness room.

Stayed here during “off” season which is typically the month of May. My boyfriend and I felt like the only people here which made the experience worth 5 stars. It was so quiet, beautiful, and relaxing at all times. The property is well taken care of and so stunning. The pictures do not do it justice. When I first booked this hotel I didn’t realize it would be so lovely. They have a cute garden, the pool and hot tub are great. The food and drinks are a tad overpriced but each drink/meal we had was good! The complimentary breakfast is just perfect. So fresh and has anything you would want and need. The only thing I would give 4/5 would be the rooms. They could use a bit of an upgrade to match the outside of this property. However, the room we stayed in was still so clean and nice but almost takes away from the rest of the hotel experience/property. Thank you to all the staff who made this such a great experience!!!

Gorgeous hotel with personalized service. Lovely selection for breakfast including made to order omelettes or eggs. Several fresh fruit selection. Restaurants on site had gorgeous ambience excellent service and a delicious meal. Swim up bar was warm and relaxing after an active day zip lining or hiking. Hotel is close to restaurants and shopping with an easy walking distance.

The room was beyond our expectations and then some. Stunning, with hot tub and a massive, comfortable bed. The surroundings were beautiful - a nature walk around the lovely gardens is essential, and to spot toucans while having the top class breakfast was an added bonus. We plan to return to Monteverde on a future trip and will definitely return to this hotel.

Good well-located hotel for a stay in Monteverde. The rooms are clean and a good size. Staff are friendly. The breakfast is good. We had one lunch and dinner in the restaurant too but preferred the experience and value of places in the town which are a short walk away.
