Hotel Poco a Poco

The hotel has been recently renovated and, in addition to a very striking entrance, offers guests a wonderful heated pool and a fabulous hot tub. I posted a photo to show the bar overlooking the pool, which allows guests to enjoy the service directly in the water. The restaurant was also a very pleasant surprise.||It was a short stay (we arrived in the afternoon and left the next day before lunch), but we are extremely happy to have spent part of our time here. The hotel also features a charming trail where it is not uncommon to encounter wildlife.

This is a gem of a hotel with excellent customer service, a pura vida vibe and lush surroundings. Location is walkable to many great restaurants and shops. Breakfast is fresh and delicious. Rooms are a little dark but very clean and more than adequate. Service is beyond amazing! They go the extra mile and provide amazing resto recommendations, arrange transportation and even help w laundry needs. Pool is lovely but way too much chlorine so definitely bring your own conditioner. The town is an uphill walk but doable. Definitely stay here!

Hotel Poco a Poco is an absolute gem with outstanding customer service, a true pura vida vibe, and lush, beautiful surroundings. The location is excellent—walkable to great restaurants, shops right across the street with cafés, restaurants, and a farmacia. Downtown is about a 10-minute walk (uphill but totally doable).||The hotel itself is wonderfully unique—open to the mountain scenery, with rooms tucked away in hidden coves across different levels, giving it a very organic, and also hippy feel.||The amenities are thoughtfully designed: a heated pool, hot tub, fire pit, jacuzzi pool, gym, walking trails, and even a real herb garden. The views of the surrounding hills are absolutely magnificent. The pool area is lovely, with poolside bars - the bar tender event went outside the menu to create a cocktail for me. ||Service truly sets this hotel apart. Every staff member was smiling, proactive, and genuinely eager to help. They go above and beyond. You can really feel how proud they are of Costa Rica’s hospitality.||The on-site restaurant is very good; the only minor drawback is a limited menu||This is a unique, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed hotel that delivers exceptional service and atmosphere. I would absolutely stay| here again and highly recommend it.||⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommended!

This was a lovely place. The staff, food, and location is perfect. I huge shoutout to Luis Carlos López Garbanzo, then manager who emailed me about some piggie decor I wanted. He went out of his way by emailing me after my stay, along with the bartender and waiter to find me where I can get it. That was really u expected and appreciated.

We had a really good stay at Poco a Poco. It’s very central - we didn’t have a car so it was helpful to be able to walk to downtown or the commercial centre opposite for coffee & dinner, and all the major attractions were able to pick us up from there. It was our honeymoon and we were upgraded when we arrived - the real win here was complimentary laundry service! Honestly the best way to receive an upgrade and something we made use of twice. Super helpful in the middle of a long trip. The staff were always very friendly and on hand to help. Rooms are secure and quiet. We didn’t try the on-site restaurant or bar, but breakfast is good and the views are great. Thank you!

We stayed for 3 nights at this excellent hotel as part of our tour of Costa Rica to celebrate our Golden Wedding Anniversary. We were greeted with a welcoming drink and found a lovely surprise of balloons and chocolate strawberries when we reached our room. The hotel is close to the town with all its amenities but has beautiful, well maintained and peaceful gardens behind. We really enjoyed the hotel trail which was much longer and better than expected and provided a great spot for bird watching. Also enjoyed a romantic moment with a cocktail by the fire pit ! Would definitely recommend.

Poco a Poco Hotel is a comfortable stay with adequate rooms although we did notice a few ants. The gardens are lovely (even supplying fresh mint for those mojitos!) and the fireplace adds a cozy touch. It will be even better once renovations are complete. The location is convenient, just a few minutes’ walk from the centrum, with a nearby mall that includes an art store and a grocery store, making it easy to explore and pick up essentials. Note for tobacco users... you must walk to the street to use. There are no designated smoking areas.

This boutique hotel was perfect for our family. The breakfast buffet had many choices to meet all of our family's wants and needs. The pool & hot tub were amazing after an adventurous day in Monteverde. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. I would easily stay here again.
