Hotel Pontsteiger (Amsterdam, North Holland) 2 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"We know, we did a double-take too — where Rem Koolhaas had to go all the way to Beijing to erect the conjoined towers affectionately known as “big pants,” Amsterdam-based architects Arons en Gelauff built their spectacular Pontsteiger building on their home city’s waterfront. The brief was to maximize the space given to the most useful parts of the building — the upper floors, for the views, and the lower floors, for their interface with the city — and minimize what’s in between. And rather than give the whole thing over to residents, the developers reserved enough space for twenty-five rooms’ worth of travelers: the Hotel Pontsteiger." - Tablet Hotels

Was here for one night stay. The location is quite good, not too far from Amsterdam Centraal. The hotel building is unique and is a kind of landmark. Bust stop is just walking distance. Rooms were super nice and cozy. Clean, neat and well maintained. Staff was quite helpful. However, the do not accept any cash mode of payment. Cafeteria at reception is very beautiful place to relax. Overall had a nice stay here.

We stayed at this hotel during Pride. We booked last min during a busy weekend and got a great deal compared to some other hotels and airbnbs. The resort fee when booking stated €34.40 but ending up being a little more €41.24. We booked a Junior Double Or Twin Suite With Riverfront View and it was amazing. Large, modern, industrial, high ceilings, wall to floor windows looking at the bay. Nice and comfy King bed. Big bathtub and shower. The first night we had issues with the shower not draining but after talking to the front desk in the morning it was fixed when we returned later that day. Ferries pasted by but we didn’t hear them. Nice and quiet area away from busy areas but still walkable. The walk at the end of the day was tiresome but some local bus routes are closer.

Gorgeous room with big floor to ceiling windows. The bed was so comfortable and the shower had amazing pressure. Great amenities come with the room. I will definitely stay here again on my next trip to Amsterdam!

Travelling from the UK we spent 3 nights in a deluxe riverside room. We found the price of the room very reasonable compared to other options across the city, especially as the location of Hotel Ponsteiger was so great for buses to Centraal and the ferry across to NDSM as well as the hotel having a bit of additional character being right on the river. It was so relaxing watching the lights dance on the river at night. There was a nice bar/cafe area where we enjoyed a hot drink one evening and looked out over the river, though there was some confusion about how to order drinks, which felt slightly awkward. Despite this, though, the staff were very friendly and helpful. The room itself was a great size for a city break, but it would have been perfect if there were some additional spaces to store guest's belongings. The shower space was huge and provided toiletries were lovely. We enjoyed using the Marshall bluetooth speaker that was provided and it was great to have tea and coffee making facilities. No mini fridge was provided, however, which would have been a really nice extra. We would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is a hidden gem, its location is perfect by the river. We had a river view which added a sense of tranquility. The room itself was super clean every day and whilst we were not the only ones, we didn’t hear any noise (unusual for a hotel). The bed was extremely comfortable. ||||The location is about 20-30 min walk to Amsterdam Central, the bus runs regularly and takes less than 10 minutes (number 48), super convenient. The staff were very pleasant and friendly. ||||I would definitely stay here again. Thank you.

Very recommendable if you like a busy water view, near the centre of Amsterdam. Nice vibe in the hotel room, tidy, clean and peacefull. Great place to explore the city, very nice place to visit with your own boat and dock it near your room.

I stayed at Hotel Pontsteiger during the F1 GP weekend, and overall it was a good experience given the price. The hotel itself is located on the ground floor of a luxury apartment building, so it feels more like a serviced apartment setup than a traditional hotel.|Rooms are split between two types: indoor rooms, which don’t have real windows (instead they face a glass wall looking out to the hallway, so they can feel enclosed), and outdoor rooms, which face the Amstel River and have proper views.|The beds were comfortable, and the shower had good pressure and consistent hot water. Small touches like courtesy water bottles, Nespresso coffee, and tea in the room were appreciated.|The location is practical — right next to the F6 & F7 ferry docks and the 48 bus stop, which gets you to Amsterdam Centraal in about 6 minutes. It’s not directly in the city center, but very accessible.|All in all, not a luxury stay, but for the price (especially on a busy F1 weekend), it was a solid choice.

Hotel Pontsteiger was a good hotel! The rooms were well-equipped and clean. The bed was super comfortable and spacious! Unfortunately, the ventilation in the toilet didn’t work, and there was no shelf or hook in the shower to place a towel – so we always had to walk through the room soaking wet to get one. We also would’ve loved to let some fresh air into the room, but sadly the windows couldn’t be opened – only air conditioning was available. Apart from that, a great hotel!||
