Our stay at Hotel Portinari was truly delightful.
We were on the top floor (5th) where the windows opened to a charming view of the plaza, a picture of Bruges that felt both lively and serene.
Saturday morning a big market opened up and we enjoyed many delicious delights.
The location of hotel is just perfect. Close to every beautiful places in Bruges center and even easy walk from the train station.
The room itself was warm and inviting, perfect for an autumn visit. I loved the thoughtful design: spacious yet cozy, with an open-style bathroom that added a touch of modern simplicity.
Every detail seemed carefully considered from the comfortable bed and excellent water pressure to the refillable glass water bottle, a small but meaningful gesture of sustainability.
Even with a DJ event taking place right in the square below, the room remained peacefully quiet, with only the faintest vibration reminding us of the festivities outside.
The staff’s kindness stood out most.
The gentleman at the concierge greeted us with such genuine warmth, setting the tone for our stay. And each time we crossed paths with a lovely lady (perhaps the manager or owner)
her gracious smile made us feel sincerely welcome, as if we were returning guests.
We didn’t have breakfast, though the spread looked generous and inviting.
Still, the comfort of the room, the quiet charm of the hotel, and the care in every interaction left a wonderful impression.
Definitely recommend and happy to come back anytime.
