Where to Stay in Lisbon When You Visit (Updated 2025)

"I appreciated the sleek feel of this boutique property with 52 blue-and-white rooms and suites; the pillow menu, double-paned windows for quiet, in-room safes, free Wi‑Fi, 24-hour room service, an in-house tapas bar and a wine cellar all make it a polished luxury pick." - Matthew Kepnes

Great location. Immaculately clean. Good offerings for breakfast. Excellent staff who were very personable, professional and helpful, both before and during our stay. Nice convenience for hotel to arrange transfers from airport to the hotel, and from the hotel to the cruise port. The only improvement would be onsite dining at the hotel for lunch/dinner. Would definitely recommend.

🍒 A Truly Royal Stay at Royal Boutique Hotel, Lisbon 🍷 Staying at the Royal Boutique Hotel was one of the highlights of our Lisbon trip. Located just a 5-minute walk from the city center and the starting point of Tram 28, it’s in a perfect spot—central yet peaceful. From the moment we arrived, the reception staff were incredibly helpful, walking us through maps and all the must-see places in Lisbon. Their warmth really set the tone for our stay. Our room was spacious, neat, and beautifully maintained—with a touch of quiet luxury. We were welcomed with a complimentary drink at the bar, which was such a nice start. But what truly stood out were the evening surprises. On the first night, after a long day of sightseeing, we returned to our room to find Ginja (a delicious Portuguese cherry liqueur) waiting for us—served alongside marshmallows and cherries. The next evening, we were surprised with a small bottle of Toni Port wine, accompanied by fresh strawberries and snacks. And every night, when we turned down the bed, there was a small chocolate tucked into the sheets—a simple but lovely gesture that made us smile. The staff made sure every detail felt thoughtful, and the hotel felt like a cozy retreat at the end of each day. I left feeling truly cared for. Highly recommend this hotel for anyone visiting Lisbon who wants comfort, great location, and genuine hospitality.

Truly amazing hotel. The room was huge, best towels I have ever had. The staff are amazing. We had an issue with the AC which they fixed immediately and every day they reached out to make sure it was ok. They left little snacks in our room. Location is close to all that we wanted to do. This is a 5 star hotel wanna be. I highly recommend.

From the minute that we were warmly welcomed into the chic reception area, we knew that we were going to have a wonderful experience at the Portugal Boutique City Hotel. We had the pleasure of staying in a luxurious and generously proportioned Premium Double room where contemporary design and comfort were perfectly combined with traditional Portuguese touches. The immaculate room had a dressing area and a spacious/superbly appointed en-suite bathroom complete with a bath and a separate large shower area. The enormous bed was exceptionally comfortable and with sumptuous bedding, it was like sleeping on a cloud. The pristine white decoration and furniture were perfectly offset by the rich purple carpet with distinctive design and the Portuguese blue and white pattered tiles. It was a truly unique and special room which we will never forget. The staff were so efficient, helpful and friendly. With particular thanks to Francisco for expertly showing us the bedroom features, to Leo and the other staff on reception for their kind assistance and local knowledge and to the lovely breakfast manageress and her team for the delicious food and superb service. This is an outstanding hotel in a fantastic location which is ideally situated for discovering all that Lisbon has to offer.

We recently spent 6 nights in Lisbon. We stayed at the Hotel Portugal - Portugal Boutique Hotel on R. João das Regras. The reception staff was warm and welcoming, while being professional, efficient and very informative when we needed city and metro information. I must single out and give very high praise to Alexandra at the reception desk. She was friendly, professional and showed sincere interest in the guests and their needs. |Our room, which was categorized as a double premium was spacious and beautifully appointed, with a king bed, generous closet and storage area and a bathroom with a large circular tub as well as a stand-up shower. The bed was very comfortable with generous sized pillows. We faced the courtyard which was quiet. We had buffet breakfast included. It had a nice array of food with omelets made to order. The staff, especially Celia, the hostess (hope I was correct in the title) was welcoming, efficient and promptly looked after everyone’s needs. |I would highly recommend this hotel for its location, accommodation and guest oriented staff. The hotel is on a pedestrian-only street, which makes it a bit challenging for drop off and pick up of hotel guests, but if you connect with the hotel in advance, they will inform you of where to tell your driver to drop off as there is a path through the courtyard that takes you to a neighbouring main street.

We loved this place. The location was great. Maybe a block away from the noise so close enough but yet quiet enough. We got a premium room because we wanted a big room. We were on the 4th floor. Room was very nice. Cleaned every day super nice. Little chocolate given on turn down service and a pastel de nata on your last night. Each person we interacted with was super nice. My only tiny complaint was they give you a discount to their sister hotel next door for their rooftop bar. But you can’t use it for alcohol. Ummm. It’s a bar. Outside of that everything else was nearly perfect. Would strongly recommend you stay here.

Such a fabulous stay in this hotel. Stayed in a deluxe room, it was lovely and the air conditioning was perfect| The room was lovely and quiet. The staff are wonderful and so friendly and helpful. Really appreciated early check in and lovely bottle of bubbly left for our anniversary. I would definitely stay here again and I'd highly recommend it to anyone.

This hotel is a true gem! Centrally located and walking distance to everything! The hotel lobby is beautiful. Front desk staff very kind, eager to help and answer any questions or give recommendations. Breakfast was great with a nice selection of food. I asked for fried egg and got three! The room was very clean; spacious with high ceilings and large windows that actually open. First night of our stay they left us a goodie tray with cookies and a small bottle of Ginja which is great served cold. Last night of our stay we received a small platter of custard tarts. I will DEFINITELY stay Hotel Portugal again.
