The title and photos pretty much say everything you need to know about the hotel. There are three patios with rooms surrounding each. All the rooms are much the same, and the staff is very willing to give you a room adjacent to whichever patio you prefer. Things will be quieter at patio 3, less so at patio 1. The restaurant is competent, but you'll eat better at the plaza. The hotel is walking distance from both the bus station and the plaza, though some of the grades are a bit steep.||Cuetzalan itself is definitely worth a visit. It is subtropical, much like Xalapa. In January 2019 it was rather brisk at night (certainly not hot or "steamy" as Lonely Planet describes it, during the day). It rained torrents at night, but not a drop during the day. In the evening a mist rolls in, giving the plaza a surreal atmosphere, which I tried to capture in the accompanying photo. There is a strong indigenous presence here, and I find the people in this region among the friendliest I've ever known.
