Hotel Posada del Angel

A beatiful building, completely renewed but mantaining the pre-existing characteristics. its location is very convenient to the center but far from the noise and the traffic of the principal roads. we needed an early breakfast and they were ready for the established time.

Beautiful quaint hotel that looks and feels like you just stepped back into history. Located walking distance from the Cathedral, the park square, and some of the best restaurants. Very friendly staff and makes you feel welcome at every interaction

I enjoyed staying at this little hotel. The best parts were that it is right smack in the city center, the staff are super friendly, the hotel is very clean, the breakfast was scrumptious, and it was quiet. The only odd thing I found (and apparently this is common) is that the windows of my room overlooked the courtyard/breakfast area. This made for a quiet night, but I admit it was a bit odd. The hotel did a great job making sure to have very heavy curtains in the rooms to block out the light. I would stay here again...I think other rooms have a view, but then you may battle the street noise. Overall I was really happy to spend a night here.

This delightful hotel enjoys a choice location in the heart of the historic city of Cuenca (Ecuador), a short walk to the main monuments and the quaint streets where you can shop to your heart's content. It has a Mexican flair (colour scheme, decorative objects...). The staff is incredibly nice and helpful : they even let us stay in an unoccupied room with balcony so that we could see at ease the famous Pase del Nino viajero on 24 December !

Hostal Posada del Angel provided for a pleasant and comfortable stay during our group’s first time in Cuenca. The Hostal is in a great area within walking distance of many restaurants, a fantastic Belgian brewery and the Cuenca cathedral. The Hostal is run by a friendly couple from Argentina who were very helpful and kind to us. They provided us with local recommendations and even allowed us a late check out. The room we had was clean, very spacious and even featured a small balcony. While we did not dine at the in house restaurant, we noticed it was a very popular spot particularly in the evenings (our local guides even said our Hostal was known for having great food!). The Hostal took all of the necessary COVID-19 precautions with the staff wearing masks and providing guests with hand sanitizer each time they entered.

It is family owned, a charming and peaceful atmosphere with an extremely attentive staff. Also, an outstanding Italian restaurant is on site. All the goodies are home made -- sauces, pastas, desserts. Some of the staff speaks English. I stayed for a week while looking for an apartment.

There was nothing to complain about here! I stayed in early October and excellent biosecurity measures were being followed. The room was comfortable and attractive, and the staff were friendly and helpful.||The location is excellent, with many restaurants nearby, and at the edge of el Centro, with easy walking to shops and tourist destinations. ||The restaurant next to the hostal, Mangiare Bene, is, in my opinion, the best Italian restaurant in Cuenca.

Staff were friendly and welcoming. Room was spacious and comfortable bed. Breakfast was buffet style with reasonable choices. It was a 10 to 15 minutes walk from hotel to the centre of Cuenca. Evening meal was also available at the hotel if you wanted to eat there.
