Hotel Posada del Museo

This was my first stay in a hostel, so I was unsure of what to expect. The rooms were kept clean & the beds were comfortable. The staff was extremely helpful & friendly, which made my stay very enjoyable. They were quick to offer use of the phones & Internet, as well as advice on where to go out safely for night life. The location was convenient to all in San Jose. ||My only one complaint was the lack of hot water for showers.

Hostel El Museo was great. I arrived several hours later than I told them I would check in and they saved my private room, although several other guests wanted it. Also, I only paid $30 for a private double (the price of a room without a private bathroom), and yet I received a room with a private bathroom! They were friendly and showed me to my room, which was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The place was overall very chill and quiet for when I was ready to sleep. The location is super convenient as well, just a couple blocks from all the shopping. If I am every back in San Jose I will definitely stay here.

The historic Posada Del Museo is located within walking distance of downtown San Jose, museums, and nightlife. The staff was exceptionally friendly, the room very spacious and clean, and the breakfast tasty. The one downside is that the hotel is situated along a very busy street, causing some noise from the early morning. Therefore, I'd recommend the hotel to anybody who doesn't want to spend their vacation in Costa Rica in bed.

This hotel is an old classic Victorian house. It has a lot of charm, and the price is right. I will be staying here many more times.I stay in San Jose at least twice a month. The breakfast is simple, but good and the rooms are spacious.

By far the best location, just few steps from everything!! The staff is awesome, the rooms are brand new and really clean, you feel like if you where in an Hotel instead of the typical dirty, ugly hostel.||All the staff are experts on turism, San Jose BEST places to visit and they will answer all the questions you may have, also they have made some partnership with a local café, so if you stay at the hostel they give you special treatment!! ||The common area is very relaxing, they have 2 satellite Tv's. and large sofas to take a nap jeje. Its like stay with family! ||The internet is really fast! and complementary, if you don't have a laptop they let you use the one at the reception, no charge!

Stayed here on 3 separate occasions, twice in the magnolia room and once in the toucan room. The guys at the desk were really helpful and friendly. The rooms were spacious . Beds a little lumpy and water was cold on occasion but they were the only down sides.||The breakfast was lovely. Location was central. Everything you could want for an overnight stay. There was a train that would run outside and was noisy but didn't really bother that much.

We stayed here for two nights on our honeymoon. Staff was pleasant and the attached restaurant was good. The building itself is an older style that is quaint. The neighborhood is loud with lots of traffic and and train. Few amenities but comfortable. Overall I would stay again.

The building is very beautiful. It's really near the city center. The train travels almost "inside" the building! ;-) But it's a nice detail, at least for me! The rooms are very different among themselves. We stayed there for 1+1+1 nights (3 nights but not in successive nights) and we had 3 different rooms. The first 2 were huge, suitable for 3 pax. The last one was a lot smaller but above average also.
