Posada Don Jaime is ideally situated in the historic centre of San Lorenzo within easy walking distance of the Monastery. The hotel is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated with copies of famous paintings. Ignacio. the owner, is an exceptionally charming and helpful host, who speaks English fluently. He gave us excellent advice about where to eat and places to visit. He does everything he possibly can to make your visit to San Lorenzo memorable and enjoyable. This is the place to stay if you are visiting San Lorenzo.

Arrived for check in slightly later than expected for check in (1 hour) for a wedding to find my booking had been cancelled and my room sold. The manager then shouted in my face because the card we had used had declined, even though we hadn’t arrived yet and our credit card has location based security so naturally it declined. He continued shouting and complaining about how he has to sell the room for the following day, with no consideration that I have travelled from out of the country and now have nowhere to stay for the weekend, where everything is booked out. Terrible human behaviour!

Charming hotel with a lovely host, highly recommended. We would have happily stayed longer. An ideal stop over to visit the nearby Monastery.

We can’t say enough about our wonderful stay at this charming clean comfortable hotel. Our room was bright and roomy with beautiful decor. Our host Ignacio could not have been nicer or more helpful. He speaks English perfectly and took the time to answer all our questions and requests for advice. He went beyond expectations by not only helping us find where to get a Covid test we needed to travel, but he even called the clinic and walked us there so we wouldn’t get lost. The hotel is perfectly located to explore the town and to hike. We recommend highly!!

Lovely hotel with elegant Spanish historical portraits and Spain's glorious past abounds. The Spanish hospitality was appreciated in this traditional hotel which is somewhat like a B&B. Parking was possible with the help and much needed in this crowded town. Opted for breakfast served at nine, OJ, toast, jam and coffee. This is great value for a visit to El Escorial, especially given its proximity.

We stayed in this charming hotel in mid October. Our rooms (two doubles) were exquisitely decorated in turn of the century style and scrupulously clean.||The hotel is within walking distance of the magnificent El Escorial Monastery in the middle of this historic town very close to good restaurants/bars.||It’s is a very busy town so garage parking was a life-saver.||Situated in the Guadarrama Sierra this area is a true paradise for walkers||And last but not least:||Our host Ignacio was wonderful. We felt very welcomed and relaxed during our stay and looking forward to our next visit.||Highly recommended!

Nicest host I have ever dealt with. Amazing tour guide. Actually helped me park our oversized rental car on the tiny European street. He was amazing. Id recommend this place to anyone wanting an authentic Spanish experience. It’s significantly cooler here than Madrid so bring a jacket.

Beautiful superior room, very comfortable bed and lovely shower. Excellent service from the owner who gave us lots of good advice, and let us leave the car parked in the garage until we finished our visit at the palace. We will definitely stay here again if we go back to this amazing place.
