Location is good, staff are nice. Big issue is there is no soundproofing so you can hear absolutely everything. I stayed here as part of a group trip at the start & end of the trip. Room 13 was ok, compact but plenty big enough, very noisy. Room 9 was too small, it had a good sized bed but no where to put my bag, there wasn’t even room on the floor, or anything in the bathroom, it was a pain. It was quieter than room 13, in that you couldn’t hear your neighbours talking & in the bathroom, but there was more noise from outside. It was upstairs & had a balcony & nice view, you can see the sky even though it overlooks the courtyard. However it had no curtain to block the light out… so very early mornings & getting changed in the bathroom. I did ask for a sheet to cover the window but that never appeared. I would definitely not stay here again.

DO NOT stay in this hotel. I've travelled to over 50 countries and stayed in hundreds of hotels and it is no exaggeration to say this is the worst I have ever experienced. There was NO WIFI for half my stay, which was around Christmas, so my group all had to find a Cafe or elsewhere to phone our families (since 4G wouldn't work either with the thick walls). The staff didn't care. The room is tiny, and the bathroom has no ventilation (no window or fan) so the room was always stuffy, damp and smelled of mold. No chance your towel or anything will dry. The door to my room constantly jammed and I had to get staff to help me open it almost every time. I had my friend come and visit me in my room to go through photos and hang out, then the hotel charged me US$20 for having a visitor, three staff members LOCKED ME IN THE HOTEL until I paid them. This was clearly a SCAM as they would only accept cash and wouldn't give me a receipt. This is the first time in my life where I've been scammed by the actual hotel staff and was made to fear for my safety. I should have called it at this point and paid for a new hotel elsewhere, but if that all wasn't bad enough, they made me move rooms halfway through my stay, to a different room which was even worse than my original one. Very old, and it had two single beds (for one person). I was only here because it's the hotel that Intrepid used in Antigua as I don't know why anyone else would choose to stay here. Be warned.

Okay let's start with the current situation. The hotel is being renovated as of mid November 2025. So when I talk about the actual rooms I will take into account that renovations may finish sometime in December 2025.||The worse hotel manager I have encountered in 35 Years !!! Renovation was taking place there was plastic sheeting up and the reception room was a complete mess. The first room we were allocated had a window and door facing inwards into the courtyard and 2 metres away from the rather strange nail salon and massage parlour playing loud music. The next room we were offered was so small we literally could not put our luggage anywhere. I asked to see the manger who is in fact the owner. She immediately started to shout at me in front of other tour guests and called me a liar at least 3 times…she denied there were any renovations going on (despite half the roof being off, part was being re tiled and one of the main guest areas being surrounded by plastic sheeting with workmen carrying corrugated sheets down from the roof. When I asked her to come and take a look she again called me a lie and quote “you are a liar you come to my country and make trouble” this verbal abuse continued loudly.|| I always believe in giving a fair review and will make more positive comments later in this review. However in 35 years of travelling on business and leisure to over 114 countries I have never encountered such and awful abusive owner. She even threatened to call the Police because I was taking photos for this review!!!!! ||The tour company immediately moved all 16 of the tour party a few doors down to the Florencia hotel (excellent hotel) as the situation was completely unacceptable for all who encountered the abuse.||Now as I said I need to be fair and balanced in my review (not that the owner deserves any sympathy or positive points). Once the renovations are complete many of the rooms will be of a good standard with good facilities and reasonable sizes. However if you are offered the rooms mentioned above I would request a change of room. However I wish you luck in this respect as the response to this and any other request may not be what you expect!!!

If you get rooms in the original location I would rate it as 5 stars but it is terrible in the adjacent rooms. We.asked to move after the firat nia Ght as rhe room was located directly next to where everyone gathered to drink and smoke and they refused. After requesting again on the third night they finally accommodated and rhe room was lovely.

Only hotel on tour that actually had hot water for a shower, however no A/C or TV due to poor reception because of stone walls. There is a ceiling fan. Small bar of soap and packet of shampoo with one wash cloth. There is a menu of tour options available and you can have breakfast on site.

Stayed here twice around a tour, some rooms like 15 are great, others like 3 are tiny, very much depends on the room you get how nice your stay will be, great location

The window is taped with plastic (basically no windows). The room is small. The shower room is dirty. Feels like dirty everywhere. The room provides a ceiling fan only. But the location is great.

While the rooms at the property are small they are clean and comfortable and the staff were all friendly and very helpful. I booked a deep tissue massage at the spa during my stay and obtained immediate relief from muscle and joint pain. I really enjoyed my stay.
