NOT RECOMMENDED. The unfriendly receptionists had problems with the checking. They did not understand the reservation was for the 3 of us, they started arguing until I showed them the booking. Our room was way too small, outdated furnitures. We booked for the last night of our trip so that we can be well rested the next morning and head to the airport. Their stuff (cleaners maybe) made unbearable noise outside between 4 and 5am. Of course the windows could not be properly shut. When I addressed this to the stuff they said it was the other guests. For sure, 5am laughing, pushing-pulling things. In Spanish. They seemed careless. Just like me leaving this review.

Room was very basic. Bed extremely hard. No curtains so constant light into the room. Although no breakfast at the hotel it was a short walk to the local restaurant. Choice for the breakfast that goes with the hotel was very limiter

Rooms are supeeeer small. For us is fine but I know people who really wouldnt like the idea of not having the closet ;) GREAT location, AMAZING rooftop with the view on active volcano.

Hotel has a great location.Gorgeous central garden and they have a water fountain as well. The terrace is nice too. The room is decent. No AC but the have the loudest fan attached to the wall. The mattress is horrible. The one I got, it was impossible to sleep in, you could feel the springs coming out. It wasn’t a good experience since I couldn’t sleep much

Took a large group to stay at this hotel. Great location, friendly people working there. Rooms are a bit sad, out dated and very oddly arranged. There are fans, which is GREAT, but the fan is below the light which causes a strobe effect. The only mirror in the entire room is hung high ABOVE the toilet meaning you have to straddle the toilet to see in the mirror and a child can not see in. The beds are uncomfortable and the furniture is old. The rooftop is beautiful and there are places to sit and even, ironically, mirrors, hung all over the hallways. Lots of the women came to the hallway to put on their makeup and brush their hair. The front desk people are very friendly. The place where you walk to get breakfast is good. Not safe to park outside the hotel and the hotel does not have parking. We parked in an expensive parking area a couple of blocks away the first day and the second brought the car right in front of the hotel to park on the street so the next morning we could get the suitcases in easy. That day someone stole the back off of one of our side mirrors. |All in all the hotel has friendly people in a good location, comfortable prices, good breakfast options and a nice rooftop, but they also have a LOT of room for improvement!

Dont book tours through them, terrible recommendations- especially our volcano hike. Very shady tour group, it didn't really have a name- could be ASH tours, but they told everyone in our group a different name. The hotel is decent with a nice terrace. Rooms could be better, but they had hot water so it passed our standards. Location was great.

We were there three nights, and never had hot water in the shower. After the first night I told the front desk and was told that maybe there had been a power outage, and that I should try it again in the afternoon. The next day we tried it again and the shower was still stone cold. I talked to someone else at the front desk, and they just shrugged and apologized. When we checked out the following day, I told them how unacceptable it was to pay for a standard hotel (this is not a hostel), and not have hot water; but what was most unacceptable is to refuse to try to do anything about it. No one ever came to look at our shower; no attempt to move us to another room with a working shower; and when I asked for a small consideration on the rate as an acknowledgment that they had fallen short, they got a putative manager on the phone who said that was simply not possible, and the most they would do is offer me a discounted rate on my next stay. To be clear, there will be no "next stay". The management of is incompetent and/or unethical.||They could have, and should have, done better. People considering this hotel likewise can do better.

Looks can be deceiving. Beautiful fountain and garden. However the rooms are outdated with old bathrooms, rusted fixings. Antigua can keep its charm of maintaining the original infrastructure, but that is not pretext to keep hotel rooms rust, old and outdated.
