I read the reviews on here before travelling and had hopes this would live up to the more promising reviews. Unfortunately I didn’t quite come up to scratch. I will summarise our experience. ||Arrival: Reception staff were nice on arrival, and we were offered our preference on how high up the hotel we were housed. ||The room was not spacious, but covered our needs, and all views faced out towards the beach and Benidorm island which was lovely. ||To use the safe in the room requires a €10 deposit and a charge of €2 per day. If you want beach/pool towels, this will also incur a charge of €20 deposit per towel and a daily charge (which I think was €3 per day per towel). ||Almost all the guests are Spanish, which isn’t a problem per se, but clearly this hotel was geared more towards their tastes than those of travellers from other countries.||The cleanliness was reasonable, although there was one day where we placed our towels in the shower to be replaced, and they were just picked up off the wet shower floor and hung back up wet, and the floor was swept daily but clearly wasn’t mopped often.||The bar doesn’t open until 10am, so you can’t even get a bottle of water as you’re not allowed to take anything away from the dining area after breakfast. If you need to you’re better to get one the night before and leave it in the fridge in the room. ||The pool area was ok, but small, so unless you planned a day round the pool, it was difficult to go anywhere in the morning and get a sunbed in the afternoon. ||The back opposite the hotel was very nice, but 2 sunbeds and a parasol will cost €18 for the day. | You need your room key for everything and even as an all inclusive guests who was issued a wrist band, you still had to present your card at the bar for drinks, and can only get 2 drinks at a time. You will also need the room key to access the toilets etc. ||The food was poor. The selection was mostly geared to Spainish guests, and nothing seemed to go together. The main choice one night was pig trotters, and another night the show cooking area was doing chicken doner kebab which was still raw. Food was often not very hot. It was also very samey, with variations of the same thing daily. ||Many of the other guests were not all inclusive and had to pay for drinks and meals which were reasonably priced but certainly not cheap. I think meals were €18 per person per meal, and drinks were a no bit steeper at around €3 a beer. ||The entertainment was all geared for children during the day and a singer every night, so we didn’t stay at the hotel most days. Old town proper is about a 15 minute walk, where there are plenty of restaurants and a few bars, and new town was around a 10 minute taxi ride away which costs about a euro per minute. As expected new town was fun, but chaotic and unfortunately we were offered drugs from the second we got out the taxi, although this has no connection to the hotel, but forewarned is forearmed. ||All in all this isn’t the worst hotel you could stay in, but there were certainly others that seemed better. The policy of no stag or hen parties was a bonus, and if we were to stay again we would probably opt for bed and breakfast rather than any other board basis, as much of our time was spent at the beach or in old town.
