First day staying at the Poseidón Hotel Benidorm, and unfortunately, the experience has been quite disappointing so far.||We arrived around 3 PM for check-in and found the reception completely full – which I understand may be common due to the hotel receiving large groups. I patiently waited my turn, but check-in was extremely slow. It was so busy that the staff didn’t even copy our passports during the process; they kept the documents to do it later.||After finally getting to our room and unpacking, I noticed that the baby cot I had requested was missing. I tried to go back down to reception to ask, but it was still completely overwhelmed with guests. Assuming it would eventually be delivered to the room, we left the hotel for personal errands.||When we returned around 11 PM, the cot still hadn't arrived. I went back to reception where the staff member, Luis, informed me that it was too late to get a cot now. He told me that since this is a 3-star hotel, they don’t offer this type of service at night, and that I should have come earlier to prioritize the issue. He suggested my baby should simply sleep in the bed.||When I asked if the hotel would take responsibility if the baby fell or if I was supposed to stay awake all night to watch him, his response was dismissive and again blamed the timing.||To be clear, I don’t blame Mr. Luis personally – he appears to be doing the best he can with limited resources. But as a guest who had stayed in this hotel before (and even brought family this time based on that previous experience), I was extremely disappointed. Especially since, just a few nights ago, I stayed in a 1-star hotel during the drive to Benidorm, checked in at 2 AM, and was still provided a baby cot with no issue.||I now realize that perhaps I should have insisted more during the day, but I genuinely didn’t expect a 3-star hotel to be so limited in service or unable to accommodate basic safety needs for children. Out of curiosity, I asked if anything were to break in the room – like a toilet or glass – whether someone would be available to assist. The answer was no.||It’s clear that this hotel is overstretched and under-resourced. Sadly, this experience has made me reconsider staying here again, in future will look for accommodation that better values guest comfort and service at all hours.
