Hotel Pousada Encanto de Itapoan

My partner Paul and I have just spent 10 days at this gorgeous guesthouse in Salvador. The service and friendliness of the staff was second to none. We enjoyed great breakfasts with fresh fruit, fresh rolls and amazing coffee. Our room was spotless and the bed extremely comfortable. The hosts, who speak excellent English, were extremely helpful and advised us of nearby places of interest to visit and where to enjoy the best local cuisine and music. We stayed here for one week in October 2013. The place is clean and tidy, the staff is friendly and helpful and breakfast is almost too good. We might have put on some weight of all those tasty bakery and fried bananas and other things we aren't able to verify - but still taste good! ||However, if you want peace and quiet, stay out if the weekends. There is a lovely beach just 100 m away, but in the weekends it is occupied with people bringing cars with loudspeakers filling about the half of the cars... I don't think they're there for the conversation! But - in comparison to other places around here, this village is very quiet. ||||And the conclusion is: Thanks for a very nice week, including long and interesting conversations with hostess Janet. 8-)

Me and my husband stayed at the pousada in total 3 different times during a month spent in Brazil February/Mach 2017. The small pousada is perfectly located in beautiful Itapoã, 20seconds from the beach in a quiet road. The staff is so pleasant and welcoming, the breakfast (witch for me is one of the most important tings :p) is delicious and the rooms are comfortable and equipped with exactly what you need. The small pool outside is perfect for cooling off if you do t enjoy the beach and the waves. The busses to other beaches nearby and Salvador centre goes all the time, and Itapoã centre is just a 10 minute walk away. ||I absolutely recommend this pousada, and we wil deffenetly come back here for our stays in Salvador:)

It takes about 5 minutes to walk to the beach. It is clean and comfortable. ||The staff is nice and helpful. Breakfast was great.||During weekends, the beach is crowded and they are really loud. ||If you are looking for a quiet time, beware of this situation. ||||You can find some nice restaurants around the hotel. ||It's a good value for the money.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Pousada Encanto de Itapoan over the carnival period and it was amazing!!!||I don't know where to start, I am very picky about everything, Pousada Encanto ticked every box and more and I simply cannot wait to return. Before we had even arrived, Octa (the owner) was so warm friendly and helpful and always on the other end of an email to answer any query I had.||When we arrived we were greeted by Geraldo who was very warm and welcoming. All their staff were warm and friendly not one of them was sour faced and miserable. Karla was absolutely lovely. I was pretty upset that I did not get to say good bye as we left after her shift :(||Breakfast was always a vast array of local treats breads fresh juices and fruits. Which definitely set us up for the day.||But my favourite person, who completed my stay at the house was Janet! Octa's wife!! She was absolutely brilliant, we spoke for hours daily! she was friendly and extremely hilarious! ||Janet was so full of knowledge and always willing to help. Both Octa and Janet are a fantastic couple and they truly bounce off each other. I could truly keep going. But I will wrap up here. If you stay here I promise you you will not regret it!!! The beach is literally 10 seconds from the house and you are surrounded by places to eat and drink. We felt safe and walked with our iphones etc at all times and even caught the local buses into town.||Thanks Guys,||You truly completed our Brazilian experience.||Naa Obiele

Stayed here for four nights sightseeing in the local area. The pousada is ideally situated with easy access to both Itapoan and Salvador. Easy access from the airport. We were made very welcome by Janet and Octacilio as well as the rest of the staff. Janet and Octacilio both speak English as well as Portugese which was very helpful for us. ||The pousada only 100 yards from a beautiful sandy beach where traditional fishing still takes place. The beaches extend for miles with good restaurants and excellent bathing. ||The pousada was clean, comfortable and very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend!!

Spent 5 nights in this great Pousada out of the main town and quiet. The hosts were great and the staff all friendly. Janet is from England and it was great to get her views on the country. Arranged pick up from the airport even though the flight landed at 12.15am. Comfortable room and very clean. Breakfast was great. Most of the staff speak English which was a bonus. Great location as the beach is at the bottom of the road 50 mtrs away. Good security. Thanks to Janet Octa and all the staff for a great stay.

Pleasant Pousada located near the beach and a relatively short distance from the airport (15 minutes). Pleasant staff, there is a nice pool, good breakfast; the orange juice was particularly nice. The bed was comfortable and provided a good nights sleep. The property was clean and well maintained, restaurants and shops nearby.
