Bougainville Hotel Pousada-ZEN

A very cozy and peaceful atmosphere is waiting for you in this inn, each piece of this place was designed to deliver a calm experience, with a lot of plants and flowers, a relaxing background playlist on the public places, the employees are very kind and supportive with the clients, the place offer a private parking lot if you are going with your car, you are very close from the Salvador airport (15 minutes by car) and the beach (5 minutes by walking). Totally recommended!

The hotel has great ambiance in the common area and pool area, there is relaxing music played in the background and the staff keep a very colorful and pretty garden. The rooms r clean and comfortable, but probably the best thing is the relaxed and helpful manner off the owners, Andre and his father. The hotel is spotless and I had a very enjoyable stay there!

This is a good choice if you want to spend your vacation primarily on the beach. This pousada is practically at the beach, but some 30km from Salvador itself; it may take you from 30min to 1,5h depending on time, traffic conditions and mode of transportation. Itapuã is just 15 min away. The beach is marvellous. There are few choices for food, but some of varying prices and quality. The pousada itself has up and downs: the staff is lovely, breakfast is good, the pool is all right, the rooms are simple, clean but need improvement (more plugs, better towels, better water supply, better wifi connection). It is very windy and you barely need air conditioning; for that matter the rooms with just fan are preferred with its charming balcony. It may get noisy if you are not lucky with other customs. Try eat at Mary's just in the corner (nice and cheap).

We wanted a simple place near the airport and we had a car, so it was a fair choice.||We stayed for three nights before going to Chapada Diamantina (great reviews following...), and for R$ 95,00 a night (booking.com), it was a good deal. The rooms are very simple and in need of care, but everything worked properly. The ceiling fan only worked at max speed, and since those were very hot days, we had a helicopter rotor (!) on during all night. Ants in the bathroom didn't cause much nuisance, but were always present. The pool was not clean on the first day, but was taken care of afterwards. We ended up not going to the local beach, instead going North every day to enjoy them far from big centers. The staff was very nice, sympathetic and helpful, specially the ladies during the nice breakfast. Our research for this trip showed similar hotels and pousadas (our Inns) at a higher price, so we knew we couldn't expect the best.

The Pousada is about 10 minutes drive to the airport this being the reason I chose it. The room we got was basic, with a very hard bed and a dirty bathroom. The door to our room was very easly to break in even when locked. Luckly they have tralies at the main entrance and windows. They have 24 hours reception people this giving us some sens of securaty. At the reception we were told it is a safe neighorhood but what is "safe" in Brazil? We knew Bahia has only basic rooms in pousadas but this one was not worthing the money. The breakfas was good. The sea is at 5 minutes walk, the pool they have is smal and unwelcoming. I will not come to stay here. I could leave with the room for a night, how much we stay in between planes, only if they make the price less than half ( this time it was155 RS per night!!! )

Really nice place for a small price. Comfortable, clean rooms with bathroom and lovely small balcony. Very friendly and helpful staff. AMAZING breakfast! In the evening you can chill next to the pool. Approx. 3 minutes from the beach and 2 minutes from the bus station. Really close to the airport.

We didnt have time to see the area, but just needed a place close to the airport for a night, and it served its purpose with exceeded expectations. Very friendly service, very helpful in organising things and giving information, simple clean room! Had to leave early so cant comment on the breakfast.

There's not an awful lot around there but it's perfect if you have an early flight next day and don't want to be too far away from the airport. The staff was friendly and the rooms small but ok. There's also a nice backyard to hang out.
