Praktik Rambla (Barcelona, Catalonia) 8 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Don’t let the name mislead you. Praktik Rambla is centrally located right on La Rambla, Barcelona’s famed pedestrian promenade, but the place is more than practical. The boutique hotel is located inside a striking 19th-century palace retaining many of its original details, from high moulded ceilings and Baroque columns to heavy wooden doors and intricate mosaic floors. Guest rooms are compact and stylish, outfitted in minimalist décor. Coffee and freshly baked croissants are served each morning — for something more substantial, hundreds of cafés and restaurants are within blocks of the hotel. Practical, yes, but Praktik Rambla is also full of character, and after a day of sightseeing, you’ll be glad to come back to the hotel’s various lounge spaces, including a spacious terrace and a lovely courtyard garden." - Tablet Hotels

Loved our stay this week. From the balcony views, adorable terrace, to complimentary coffee, tea, and water this hotel exceeded our expectations. The location was perfect for navigating the city and close to the metro, shopping and dining. As two women we never felt unsafe. In fact, quite the opposite. A super special shout out to Sandra for making our stay unforgettable! She recommended what turned out to be our favorite restaurant during the stay and made us feel like family! We decided to even stay an extra night last minute. Can't wait to visit again. Muchas Gracias!

Google
Beautiful old world, boutique hotel. Beautiful tile and marble floors. The outdoor terrace is amazing and a great way to start the day with croissants and a hot beverage. Also a great way to unwind after a busy day of sightseeing. The staff was so accommodating and helpful with recommendations and directions. The room was very nice and super clean and the shower was fantastic. We loved this hotel!

Location: 5+/5. Couldn't be any better. Fabled Gaudi building to one side, Ciutat Vella and Barri Gotic to the other, two major subway stations within 5-6 min walk.||Atmosphere: 4/5. The interior felt grand and majestic but a little dated. Seasonal Halloween decor was a nice touch. ||Personnel: N/R. Not much reason to interact, but everyone was friendly and professional.||Food: N/R. No breakfast. Very inconvenient when tours begin before majority of brunch places open. Good coffee/water machines on the 1st floor.||Facility: 2/5. Tiny room, dirty tile floor, zero amenities. Bathroom is large but poorly designed (good water pressure, though). Up a point for a mirador (overlook terrace).||Value: 3/5. The price was steep but not exorbitant for a peak season. ||Overall: It's a decent place but there could be better deals in the area.

Google
Room was clean. Gregory at front desk kind & helpful, as was his (female) associate. Room very clean. Kind of a weird black stripe painted on the room walls & ceiling but that's personal preference. Location was outstanding. I did find other hotels that offered more amenities at the same price in the neighborhood after we arrived, but prices can fluctuate based on ability, I know. Disappointed the at the coffee machine was broken our first morning. 🥹 Other days it was running fine, and warm (plain & chocolate) croissants delicious. Nice, serene courtyard in back to sip coffee. Would have no hesitation staying there again. Even though it took was on the street, double doors eliminated all noise.

Google
The room was too small and claustrophobic in my opinion. Would describe better this room before to rent it. Below the bed the floor was not vacuum cleaned and completely dusty consequently not clean and washed from long time. No proper trouser hanger in the closer. Only hanger for shirts. Breakfast is minimal and not a real breakfast ( coffee and 1 type of croissant ). Design of the hotel and room is nice and location great. Reception well managed, gentle and supportive.

Google
Great location, super friendly and helpful staff, safe and convenient. Gregory was super professional and had such great warmth. He helped us with buying our Barcelona Card, and a booking at El Nacional for a dinner we hosted with friends. Sandra helped us to get a private car to Tarragona and was very careful to ensure our safety by taking down the car driver details. Both Gregory and Sandra were amazing staff that made the stay so pleasant and convenient and they gave us great tips on where to go. The Ciutat Comtal just a few steps away from the hotel is an amazing tapas place. Always full and opened from 8am-1am so you never have to be hungry ! Passeig de Gracia metro is round the corner and connects to most places. The architecture is beautiful and historic and the morning coffee at the large terrace is great. And the chocolate croissants were so good that it was a motivation to wake up each morning (hahahah)

Google
This hotel is at best a hostel. Whilst the location is great and we had a room at the front with a small balcony which we enjoyed, the service and quality of the room were disappointing. The room was a bit grubby, there was no bar fridge and servicing of the room was a change of towels/bed making only. We were not supplied with clean glasses and were expected to wash them ourselves each day. I would nit recommend this hotel.

Yelp
We like it...the location, handsome, classic/modern rooms. We've a balcony with 2 chairs looking out over the street. Helpful concierge, day and night, coffee and croissant station included, comfortable living room to have tea, work on your computer, sit in the garden. We're pleased with our choice. You would be too.

Yelp
Very historic building which was converted into a boutique hotel. Great double deluxe room with ample space and plenty of room for setting suitcases. Very comfortable king bed with harder mattress. Beautiful tiled floors. Very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very central to everything in Barcelona. Reasonable rates. Complimentary teas and coffees all day plus complimentary fresh croissants every morning. Very nice open terrace off of a large seating area and large conference table. Issues reported to management concerned weak light over the bathroom sink and sink with very slow drainage. They promised to look into these issues. We will use this hotel on future trips to Barcelona.

Yelp
Reasonably priced hotel in a central location. I would not recommend the Double Room as the windows are in the interior and it never gets any natural light. It was like staying in a dungeon. The room has the basics but I would've appreciated having somewhere to put my luggage other than the floor. Our room wasn't ready by the time of check in and the front desk gave us more complimentary water bottles because of it. The fresh croissants in the morning and coffee-tea bar were nice. Enjoy the mornings on the patio! Hotel was fine but something left to be desired.

Yelp
I stayed with my daughter there in Feb 2022 and we are still talking about how it was one of our favorite hotels. We arrived after a terrible airbnb experience which had been recently used for an adult movie set - no really. The hotel accomodated us with an early check-in and we were pleasantly surprised by how lovely the place is. The pictures here just don't do it justice. They had gluten-free croissants and were sure to point them out to my daughter and make sure there was some for her each morning which made her feel really special. There's a very nice coffee and tea bar. The room wasn't huge but comfy and the back patio was a really pleasant place to relax. The hotel staff were extraordinary. We still remember the lovely man at the front desk who patiently helped us, drew out directions and gave us excellent recommendations. Would love to stay there again.

Yelp
Love love love love love. Stayed here a few years ago and it was almost perfect. Right on Las Ramblas, accessible to public transportation, amazing shower, gorgeous room... it was great. This was the second to last stop on a VERY long jaunt around Europe and after having been sick during our stay in Provence right before and driving over from the South of France, we desperately needed a nap upon our late afternoon arrival before heading out for dinner. Our room was on a lower floor so we were a little nervous but, and here was the most awesome thing, the seventeen* layers of shutters, all closing in different ways, made the room completely dark AND cut out the noise. At night we could keep it open and listen to street musicians, the chatter of people and other fun street noises but when we wanted quiet and dark, that was easy, too. Loses a star because the staff kind of sucked. Not friendly at all and completely unwilling to work with us on the fact that our trip was booked to include breakfast. They use a restaurant next door, which was not cheap, and we had to pay every day. But Barcelona is beautiful and we really liked everything else so I'd stay there again. But this time I'd stock up at the corner store (which is what we eventually ended up doing) AHEAD of time to skip on the overpriced greasy breakfast food. I like a lighter breakfast on vacation. ----- *hyperbole

Yelp
We loved this hotel! Everything we were looking for this hotel had. It was very modern, clean and even had an outdoor patio off the back. We stayed at a couple other outdated hotels and this was much nicer, and affordable! The rooms are all tile floors, the bathrooms are a green tile, and the showers are nice and large with the rainfall type shower heads. The room was cleaned and freshened every day while we were out sightseeing, and they also had free wifi in the rooms. The concierge was incredible helpful. We were upgraded to the top floor with a balcony over looking the street, and this was a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay here for 5 nights. We had no problems at all.

Yelp
Great hotel! 3 minutes walk from placa catalunya and all the big stores like El Corte Ingles, Zara and Apple. Free croissants and coffee/tea in the morning. Lovely rooms, but I would not recommend the normal double if you want a nice view... So look for a room with view on the streets for example! Great service and lovely terrace!

Yelp
We stayed here for 5 nights in mid January. Nice clean rooms, lots of space considering there were 3 of us. Johan, the evening desk clerk, was our absolute favorite. He helped us book tours and sent us to so wonderful restaurants. I would definitely go back to stay here. Very conveniently located to foods and shopping. A wonderful hidden gem.

Yelp
Excellent location in the center of the city with tons of restaurants at the doorstep, excellent service (Andy on the front desk is a star), great rooms with high ceilings and amazing rainfall shower and a comfortable bed with TV mounted perfectly for viewing. Definitely check out their sundeck too. Great spot for morning breakfast with a book. However the WiFi connection was archaically slow. Other than that, great stay.

Yelp
This hotel is incredible. The staff makes a wonderful facility into an outstanding experience. The terrace on the first floor is a small oasis with beautiful views and a great place to meet people from around the world. Our room was very, very comfortable with a king bed, great shower and two balconies. Truly, if you are coming to Barcelona and want to stay in the heart of town, this is the place. Only complaint is that the free wifi is pretty slow. Since we were on vacation it wasn't really an issue for us, but if you live and die with the Internet, this may be an issue for you.

Yelp
We had such a wonderful stay. Great location and staff was so gracious with all of our requests. Would highly suggest this hotel.

Yelp
Words cannot describe how gorgeous this hotel is. From the lobby, to the rooms, hallways, and courtyard I couldn't stop saying how beautiful the place was! The staff was great, and the espresso machine + freshly baked croissants in the morning were an added bonus. I would recommend this hotel to anyone and everyone!

Yelp
This is a spectacular place to stay and in a terrific location. The hotel is beautiful and chic. The staff is incredibly friendly and they have the best croissants in the morning. We stayed in a double deluxe facing the Ramba Catalunya with its tiled floor, incredible architecture and a very comfortable king bed. We loved it.

Yelp
The hotel is in a great location - walkable to La Ramble and Gaudi houses. We arrived at about 7:30am after an overnight flight. The staff was very friendly and made our room first priority to have it cleaned within the hour while we went to grab breakfast and they held our luggage. We enjoyed the little restaurant next door both for breakfast and late night tapas. The rooms are cute and clean and the beds comfortable. They provided shampoo and body wash in the bathroom. The shower had horrible water pressure with two or three mini streams having good pressure and the rest just being a mist spraying all over. There was a hand held shower head with great pressure, but it wasn't convenient to try and wash your hair and hold that. Free wifi worked well. We had no problems with noise in the room, but always use the noisemaker on our phone.

Yelp
Great location, not on las Ramblas but close & quiet. Staff was so nice. Wifi was a pain & the rooms are tiny. Not a fancy hotel but met our needs. Price was great & included breakfast!

Yelp
overall my stay at the praktik rambla wasn't bad at all but nothing really impressed me about it either. the hotel itself is beautiful and loved the old school architecture and decor touches...our room was located on the 1st floor and toward the back of the hotel so while there was no natural light in the room at least it was quiet and made for a good nights sleep haha. the room itself was small but good enough for 2 people and our luggage. the wi-fi was free but pretty slow and spotty but i did like the free coffee machine in the lobby for guests to use. i just wanted the location to be closer to the hustle and bustle of Las Ramblas. it's only a block from Plaça de Catalunya which made it easy to access the aerobus from the airport to the hotel...but i just felt everywhere we wanted to go required a few block walk. i guess the location was central but i just wanted closer haha. at least the metro stop was closeby and really convenient for us to use and the price was reasonable for a location not right on Las Ramblas. i may just try a different hotel the next time i'm back in barcelona.
