The 7 Best Hotels in Barcelona (Updated 2025)

"In Eixample I stayed at a beautifully designed three-star hotel whose style centers on wood, with abundant wooden furniture and touches that contrast nicely with lots of natural light. Rooms can be small but include a desk, free Wi‑Fi, and a flatscreen TV; the bathrooms are a bit oddly set up and don’t offer much privacy. Breakfast isn’t included but is tasty (limited variety), and there’s a lovely courtyard with lots of trees where the hotel hosts its popular wine tastings—overall a good upscale option with reasonable prices." - Matthew Kepnes

Hotel Praktik Vinoteca is located in a very central area close to the heart of Barcelona. It is also not too far from a subway stop which makes it convenient and not too pricey. As a wine themed hotel, they did provide us with 2 complimentary wines. They had a filtered water fountain that dispenses hot and cold water to refill your water bottles while remaining eco-friendly. There is a buffet breakfast but it costs extra money. The staff is friendly and understood our English well. Our hotel room faced a concrete wall so noise was not a problem. Room is decently sized, although there is no refrigerator. Shampoo, conditioner, hand soap, and lotion was provided. The only issue we had was our shower door was slightly tilted so it couldn’t close all the way and some water would get out. This was evident by some water damage we noticed near the shower and that the some mold were starting to form on the ceiling. While this wasn’t a big deal for us at the current state, it may be something the hotel would want to address before it becomes a larger problem. Overall this was a great hotel and we would definitely consider staying with them next time we come to Barcelona.

Our stay at the hotel was absolutely wonderful! The atmosphere was incredibly cozy, every detail was thoughtfully designed to make guests feel comfortable and relaxed. I’d especially like to mention Irene, who was exceptionally kind and attentive. Her warmth and willingness to help made us feel truly at home. Huge thanks to the entire team for their hospitality and great service. We’ll definitely be coming back.

Everything was great! The rooms were comfortable, and the front desk service was very helpful. The location was good, too. One small suggestion---I would have liked it if the front desk staff wore name tags! :-) I always like to address people by their names, and name tags would have helped me not have to depend on my memory. Irene was ESPECIALLY kind, friendly and helpful---give her a raise! :-)

I had a really great experience. I just had a small issue with the sheets, but it was immediately taken care of. The staff were extremely kind and courteous. In particular, I’d like to mention Irene, the young girl at the reception desk in the morning, and Alex, the Spanish-American guy in the afternoon. They were both very helpful and accommodating. Alex even recommended some great places to eat, which I really appreciated. The hotel itself is very charming, with a balcony and always kept clean. I will definitely be coming back. Overall, I was very satisfied with everything — from the service to the atmosphere, everything exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended!

Really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona! This hotel was so quaint and perfect. It's a boutique hotel and they've really paid attention to all of the details. If you're a wine lover, you'll love this hotel (and their amazing wine offerings!). The rooms are perfectly sized and very clean, and the accommodations modern and up to date. The staff is fantastic as well, so kind and welcoming, happy to give any tips about Barcelona. Location is also great! Really walkable area and close to so many attractions.

We had an excellent experience here! The staff were all friendly and beyond helpful, very knowledgeable about wines and the local attractions. Room service was extremely kind and flexible. The location is waking distance from many great spots, bars, restaurants and tourist attractions. I would definitely recommend this place to people seeking a boutique style, quiet hotel in the heart of Barcelona!

This hotel served as a good landing spot for our several days in Barcelona. The area is central and walkable (plus, buses stop right in front and the metro is about 5-10 minutes away). The hotel itself was tidy, and our room (near the back) was quiet. The beds were comfortable. The included breakfast had enough choices to occupy us for several mornings, and the hotel has a lovely terrace in the back where guests can eat or have a glass of wine. Hotel staff were fine but not as friendly as we found elsewhere.

Google
It is the center of all actions. The room is very clean, comfortable and functional. The room is a little on the small side, but that was not a problem for us. Staff is very friendly and helpful. We were also given 2 free glass of wine for me and my wife. I had red and my wife had white. Both were surprisingly good. We would stay there again if we go to Barcelona again.

Yelp
We are frequent travelers and have stayed at a wide variety of Hotels in Spain and abroad. We booked with Vinoteca in Barcelona when we found that rooms were unavailable elsewhere during the time we planned to visit due to several large events/ conventions in the city. We should have paid more attention to the red flag of the hotel demanding payment 30 days in advance with absolutely no opportunity for refund if we changed our plans. We called ahead of time to clarify where we could park and unload our luggage at the hotel prior to parking our car. The person at reception told us to park in the street and bring our bags in and it would be no problem. Were nearly towed and advised by local police that the hotel had advised us incorrectly as there is no parking in front of the hotel. We did happen to watch several taxis, pull up and onto the curb in order to unload/load customers. Access to the hotel from any vehicle is problematic. Once inside the front door of the hotel there is no ramp inside and you have to carry your bags down about five steps; the lift next to the stairs was not available. The lobby of the hotel did not exactly look as it did on the website. The furniture and finishes are worn and any promises of a wine bar or fake bottles on the wall and a few bottles on ice at the reception. We were checked in relatively quickly, and given our room keys. We proceeded to the room, which we found to be worn, very small, and lacking many amenities. Yes, there is air-conditioning and a safe and a blow dryer. There is cable TV with about handful of Spanish only channels. Configuration of the room is rather odd with the shower being placed in what we guess was formally a closet on one side of the entryway. There is a small water closet in its own room on the other side of the entryway. There is not much room beyond the perimeter of the bed. There are no luggage racks or even a desk/chair, and we ended up using one of our nightstands to accommodate our bags. The sheet on the bed was stained, the remote control was in pieces, and we could not get the window closed. Buffet consists of ham, cheese, a few fruits, and all the carbs you want. Very disappointed with the offerings at the breakfast buffet here. We ordered a taxi for an appointment we had the next morning. We were assured that this would be addressed and it clearly was not. We ended up going to the nearest intersection and luckily made our appointment just in time. While everyone was very nice at the hotel, there was no attempt by anyone to go above and beyond and we were stuck with substandard accommodations without losing our payment to change to another location. Overall, the hotel was disappointing, their website and previous reviews are very misleading. Avoid this hotel as location is just not worth it

Yelp
The price for a room is the same if you are travelling alone. When i arrived they gave me a water bottle and told me to use it for filtered water. My first day a kid ran into me and knocked me to the ground. I have bloody knees, a sprained ankle, and a broken water bottle. Not only did the day person give me an attitude about getting ice, she would not replace the water bottle even though i showed her the broken remains. I am here for 3 days. If i was here for one day with another person there would have been two water bottles given. I had to beg for ice and am dismayed that i was curtly told that there is only one water bottle given per booking. It takes so little to make someone feel better. Some ice and a water bottle would have made this experience so much better. There is a lovely person named Alex who works at night, but the girl in the daytime is unkind. I have a business that depends on customer service in the states, and if someone treated a customer this way i would fire them.

Yelp
We had a fantastic stay in Praktik Vinoteca in the Eixample area of Barcelona! First, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We arrived on a red-eye flight with little sleep in the morning and the staff allowed us to check-in early for a much needed nap. They spoke Spanish and English, and provided us with directions, recommendations, and were overall very welcoming. The rooms were a decent size, modern, and our room overlooked the street. They had a small balcony, which was perfect for grabbing some wine and taking in the sights and sounds of the city. The location was fantastic - near many great restaurants, shopping centers, and a quick walk to the plaza and old city. As an added bonus, as the name suggests, the hotel focused on wine with a number of reasonably priced bottles and glasses of wine, staff who were able to provide great recommendations, and a courtyard that was perfect for relaxing with some wine after a day of sightseeing. Praktik Vinoteca was great - reasonably priced, comfortable, and conveniently located!

Yelp
For a themed hotel Praktik Vinoteca exceeded my expectations. The theme is wine, so it's fitting that you are greeted with a complimentary glass of wine at check in. The staff is very friendly and all speak great English, which helped us out a lot. The hotel is extremely conveniently in the center of the Eixample, 2 blocks from the Passeig de Gràcia station as well as Illa de la Discòrdia & Casa Batlló. Besides being near some major attractions, Pg de Gràcia has some great (window) shopping as well. This is considered the most expensive street in Barcelona (and Spain). The avenue goes all the way down to Plaça de Catalunya, where you can find that many of the cities attractions meet- Barri Gòtic/Gothic Quarter, La Rambla-Rambla de Cataluña, El Raval. The lobby is very charming and as soon as you walk in, you can't help but want to try all the various wines they have on display. But I guess that's the whole point of a wine-themed hotel. They offer a great selection of wines and are very knowledgeable. You can bring your wine up to your room, or chill out in the lovely lounge area (which doubles as the breakfast buffet in the morning). They offer free use of two public computers and printers, which came in handy since we had not bought any of our tour tickets online. The staff highly recommended (pushed) that we get etickets to avoid the lines (THANK YOU!). There is a cozy lounge area that opens up to a patio in the back. They offer a breakfast buffet of eggs, pastries, bacon, and fruit for something short of $10 per person, which is very reasonable. There's also some fruits, cereal, milk, and orange juice. They have a Nespresso machine with a variety of coffees, as well a nice selection of teas. After breakfast, it's just a common room where you can hang out until it closes at 11pm. The actual hotel room is small- and when I say small, I really mean tiny. Like one of those dorm room shares back home in NYC, except you get your own bathroom (kind of??). It seems like all the rooms have a very similar, if not identical, layout. you walk into a teeny foyer/hallway and there are three doors. Two glass doors lead to the toilet and sink, and the shower on either side of you. Yes, glass. If you are staying with your s/o and shy about using the toilet, this is NOT the place for you, sorry. There are french doors (tiny, because it's french doors in the size of a regular doorway) leading to the bedroom (bed area, really). There is a building open closet space, which consists of a drawer, a handling rod, a shelf with a safe, and a shelf up top. This was room enough for us to put our clothes, because honestly, how much closet room do you need while on vacation? Our last hotel had what felt like an entire house's worth of closet space and we ended up not using any of it because it was too big and we were afraid we would forget stuff in it. There is a wall mounted TV, a trash bin, and small nightstands on each side of the bed. There is another set of tiny french doors that lead out to a mini-balcony (really, really, really mini. You can just step out on it and then you can't take any more steps). This is a small hotel room- but you are in the middle of a big city, off one of the largest, most famous, and definitely the most expensive avenues in all of Barcelona. I think the space was just fine, and we had 1 29" luggage, 2 carry ons, and 2 full camera backpacks. I have to add that the bf and I were still really sick when we stayed here, but the staff was so accommodating. At around midnight, I went down and asked if they could sell me some tea- and the front desk staff took me to the lounge, unlocked it for me, and said, here, have all the tea/honey you need and please lock up when you're done. I know that tea is not expensive, but when you're feeling like crap, these small gesture mean the world to you. Also, as we were checking out, the sommelier let us purchase wine to take home to the states (we had not been able to drink out entire stay there- and the prices are SO good). They even have these nifty wine shaped bubble packing bags that seal up to prevent damage to the bottles. Our wine arrived home in one piece. All that said, I have to knock off 1 star for the only thing that irked me- thin walls. I don't mind the small space, lack of bathroom privacy, etc. But it would have nice if they had invested a little more in the walls. At one point, I was tempted to call front desk to complain, but I figured all the rooms were the same and there'd be no point. I would still definitely recommend this hotel- the price is reasonable and it's so convenient. Even with the bit of occasional noise, I would go back just because of the super charming decor and incredible staff.

Yelp
I stayed here for a week at the end of 2015. It's a great location for exploring Gaudi since it is two blocks from the Casa Batllo and a block from the Modernisme Museum. It's central location puts most top sites within walking distance and the subway is two blocks away for other locations. The staff was extremely welcoming and helpful. They give you a free glass of wine for your first night. Wine is what the hotel is based around but since I'm not a fan of alcohol I can't comment on this aspect of my stay. I was on the top floor in room 601. Noise from the loud street outside was audible but not too bad after hours. The rooms are a little small but done beautifully in a modern style. Also very clean with hair dryers and toiletries. There is some room to room noise. The lobby is very nice as is the breakfast room. Brunch did not offer an abundance of options but would be adequate for most people. Seems to be a great value for central Barcelona.

Yelp
The hotel was very clean and the lobby/wine lounge area was quite lovely. I'm not giving it any more than 2 stars because the hotel room just didn't work for us and wasn't well thought out. For starters, it's incredibly small. Tiny, actually. It felt more like a prison cell than a hotel room. It's a small box with nothing other than a bed, two nightstands, and a window. There is no chair and there are no luggage racks; so all of your luggage, bags, purses, etc have to sit on the floor or on the nightstands. There is a tiny "closet" area, but it doesn't make up for the fact that there is nowhere to put your luggage to get it out of the way. The shower has a clear glass door making it imperative to shut the small French doors between the bathroom "area" and the bedroom "area" to achieve any kind of privacy. And if your significant other wishes to use the toilet or sink while you are showering they will get to watch you bathe. The room with the toilet and sink have barely enough space for those items, so don't plan on having any space for your toiletries or any space to actually get ready. The walls are incredibly thin. We heard every single movement the person in the room next to us made and continued to hear them well into the night. Then, early the next morning we were woken up by the person on the other side of our room slamming doors and a baby screaming down the hall. We were planning on staying for several nights but checked out as soon as we could after the first night. All in all: if you are a single traveler with little to no luggage and are a heavy sleeper- then this place will be just fine. But if you are traveling with another person and wish to have any sort of space, privacy, or room to move around and get ready- I don't recommend this hotel at all.

Yelp
Wonderful little hotel. Clean, friendly, very handy capped accessible. Wines are great by the glass and nice terrace.

Yelp
Praktik Vinoteca is just ok. The rooms are really tiny, but pleasant. The service depends on who you get. All of the women who worked there were very nice; the men either ignored you or were kind of rude. In Barcelona, people eat dinner at 10 pm, but strangely, if you order a glass of wine at this hotel at 10:45 pm and have it on their advertised "wine terrace," you are kicked out at 11 pm "because of the neighbors." Ok, no big deal, we'll finish our wine inside the terrace on the couches indoors, but no, those are also "closed" for no apparent reason. I thought it was weird and lame, especially since Barcelona is such a nighttime city, where people stay out until all hours of the night and at this hotel, the reception- where you get the wine- is open 24- hours. In the future, I will not be staying here.

Yelp
Great boutique hotel located in a central location in Barcelona. It is about 2 blocks away from the metro. The staff is very helpful. Yes, the rooms are small. As some of the other reviews have mentioned, the shower door is across from the toilet and sink and both doors separating the rooms are glass. However, the toilet and sink have a frosted door for privacy. A big benefit to the hotel is the wine theme; they have wine for about 3-4 euros available upon request. In addition to the hotel, there is very cheap food or very great places to grab breakfast, lunch, or dinner around the corner or within 1 - 2 blocks.
