One of the true standouts of Hotel Presidente is the rooftop terrace restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the views over the city were just as memorable. The service here, like the rest of the hotel, was outstanding—attentive, friendly, and professional. Whether you're visiting San José for business or leisure, Hotel Presidente offers a perfect blend of comfort, style, and location all delivered with genuine Costa Rican hospitality. We've stayed here multiple times, and each visit has been nothing short of outstanding. The staff truly sets this place apart—always warm, welcoming, and ready to help with anything you need. Their hospitality makes a lasting impression. The rooms are spotless, comfortable, and thoughtfully appointed, making it easy to relax after a day of exploring. The on-site restaurant is a gem—great atmosphere and delicious food. Best of all, the location is ideal: perfectly situated for discovering everything the city has to offer. We’ll absolutely keep coming back!

We stopped for one night after arriving on an evening flight. The quality of the rooms were great. Clean, large and good aircon. Breakfast was very good with a broad range of buffet and a few options to order in addition. All the staff were friendly and obliging. We had dinner on the rooftop after arrival and were really impressed with the quality and quantity.

The hotel is well situated within walking distance of the Cathedral, the Metropolitan Museum , the Jade Museum and several parks. The greenery and nicely decorated lobby are nice respites from the crowded streets just outside the doors. The rooms are comfortable. The Azotea restaurant/bar has very good food and service; it also has a nice open terrace with flowers and greenery separating you from the surrounding rooftops. The rooms are comfortable. The hotel is very clean. The rates are very competitive and represent very good value for the area. The hotel arranges economical and timely transportation to the airport. However, in our mind, the most impressive features are the staff; they are some of the most pleasant and service-oriented staff that we have encountered in our travels around the world. Hotel Presidente certainly deserves the accolades and good reviews it has received. Highly recommend this hotel.

This hotel was beautiful!! We only had a short stay - one night and got in after dinner - so we didn’t even get to experience the rooftop restaurant. But the staff was warm and welcoming. The rooms were lovely and very clean and comfortable. There is an included breakfast buffet which was WOW. I highly recommended this hotel if you wish to see San Jose.

One of our best hotel stays ever! Our room was understated but elegant, and incredibly clean and spacious. The rooftop garden was so lovely. ||What really made it special, though, was the incredible staff. Every single person we interacted with was so very gracious and helpful. Thank you to Nicole, Amanda, Luis, Mauricio, Kevin, and the other wonderful employees whose names I unfortunately neglected to catch, for making us feel so welcome, and making our stay so memorable.

Simple place. In middle of town. Specious bathroom. Once you pull in the parking the place is interesting. It has nice use of plants for decore. The dining room has amazing wood carving. Enjoyed the stay.

We had a one-night stay and found the hotel very charming. The room was clean and spacious. The continental breakfast was tasty. The best part was the staff. Everyone was kind and helpful.
