Our agency booked this hotel for us. The bed was comfortable, the bedding provided enough warmth for a room with no heat. The shower was hot and had the most pressure of all the hotels we’ve been in over the past 4 weeks. There was soap AND shampoo offered ( a rarity this trip). Breakfast starts at 4:15. A decent enough selection- scrambled eggs, pancakes, lemon loaf, bread, variety of fruits, cereal and yogurt. Coffee and tea. Nice balcony to view the river and mountains. A table and chairs to eat or do some changes to your travel plans and your tablet. Our bags were stored for us while we did the trip up to Machu Picchu. My only negative is that the room is quite dark even with all the lights on, but really that’s not an issue. |Our room was in the back facing the river. I would think that would be preferable to facing the street/train.

On the main strip right along the railroad tracks so it’s a quick walk to the train station and to Machu Picchu shuttle buses. We were really tired so did not hear any train noise at night. Breakfast is available starting at 4:30 for those getting an early start. The main negative was that our room smelled strongly of cat urine. Otherwise it seemed pretty clean. Good value.

This hotel is okay. The rooms were clean and the beds were decent. The best part of the rooms are the views from the back balconies that overlook the river and mountains--very pretty. Try not to let mosquitoes in; they're everywhere along the river. The breakfast is one of the crappier ones I've had in a hotel, so don't expect much there. The location is good, the price is good, the internet is good.

Our room was at the front of the hotel. In front of the hotel there was a railway. Trains were coming and going from 4am until 24pm. Too noisy. The room was clean, but basic. However the windows made it possible for people outside to look inside. No privacy. Shower was fine. There was only wifi at the reception desk, although we managed to receive a weak signal in our room, which was above the reception. Breakfast was good.

It is a great little hostal with an increadible view of the mountains and the river. It has small rooms that are clean and well maintained the staff is very attentive to ones needs and very informative. Most People stay at Aguas Calientes Town ( the name was changed to the town of Machu Pichu Back in 2011 for the hundredth anniversay of the rediscovery of Machu Pichu). Most tourist just saty a night or two this hostel does very well when it comes to beds and cleanliness. Its close to the train station it is very safe as the police headquarters is right in front of the Hostel restaurants and the main Plaza are within walking distance you have arts and crafts and any thing yopu disere within a two bl;ock radius and the price is very inexpensive. Any one with a little common sence can figure out that you cannot get a five star hotel for sixty USD. Its a great place for the price

Great staging ground for the climb to the top of Machu Picchu. ||Breakfast was good and the rooms were also of good quality and clean. ||After a bit of discussion I was able to move out of the middle room with no windows besides to the air shaft. ||View of the river was wonderful.

When I went to this place I had not looked at the TripAdvisor reviews so I expected what you would normally expect...but no! It was an extremely basic hotel with tiny rooms. When we arrived the lady at the desk (who looked about 20!) failed to open the door with the key. After multiple re-encodings, we had to swich rooms. How annoying! There was a massive pillar in our new room as well. The trains go through every 2 hours so don't say I didn't warn you! |When we went to bed, the light continually flickered ALL NIGHT which was really annoying. |In the morning, when we had breakfast, the scrambled eggs were cold and there was no omelette station. Overall, I don't think this was quite the right place for me.

Good standard hotel, nice rooms, good beds and warm shower. Only stayed for 1 night, unfortunately in a room at the street side where every so many hours, late evening as well as (very) early morning a train passes right in front of your window! Try to avoid these rooms, than indeed it can be a good place to stay.
